I really love milk shakes with fruit. It is a great way to stay on a diet as an afternoon snack, or with 1/2 sandwich at lunch. My favorites are to use protein powder (I use Jillians Triple Chocolate) with milk. Directions say you can use water but I think that tastes AWFUL!! I add whatever I have on hand...an orange, banana, papaya, blueberries, strawberries. I am wondering what other fruits can be used. Has anyone tried using pineapple in a milk shakes? That doesn't sound so good..but I always keep canned pineapple in natural juice.

Yes I have, this is my most favorite mix of fruits to use in a milkshake, sometimes I simply use mangoes and lemons, or if I could afford it in my budget pineapples and grapes with strawberry...I love plain strawberry milkshakes though but adding other fruits only enhances the flavor!!!hmmn...I'm wanting to make one right now!!!

I agree with hiccup, it depends on your taste. I have blackberry and raspberry bushes, I think those would be great in a milkshake..

I make pie, muffins, pancakes, and jam with mine. Last year between having a great harvest and not as much time to bake since I started school, I still have 2-3 bags frozen...lol

Yum!! That is what's so great about having your own bushes. Freezing them is especially smart!!

I used to live in the Caribbean, where they have plenty of tropical fruit and they always used to prepare all sorts of milkshakes! I would suggest you try pineapple and even lemon! Be sure to add a few ice cubes to the lemon juice before adding milk, but the result is just like a lemon pie drink: delicious!

I really like milkshakes with a variety of fruits. Hmmm..I had watermelon with my cottage cheese this morning. I wonder if watermelon and milk would go well together in a milkshake?? Doesn't sound very good, does it?? :( I think I'll try it :)

I would think pineapple would taste especially good in a yogurt shake, rather than an actual milk shake. Pomegranate and cranberries are great to make a tart shake, and adding guava makes a shake sweet and delicious!

I like yogurt. Pomegranate and cranberries sound interesting..guava sound delicious. Maybe the yogurt in the milkshake? I mix yogurt and cottage cheese to cut down on calories and keep the flavor.

I love fruitshakes with evaporated milk. I haven't tried pineapple because I usually use mango and guyabano (soursop in english). Since Philippines is a tropical country, Filipinos want cold drinks and desserts. Everytime I go malling, I do buy fruitshake at Fruitas. I can't resist it, it is so delicious.

Evaporated milk sounds good but high in calories?? Good for you drinking milkshakes. YThey are really healthy for you. Thanks for mentioning guyabano. I am not familiar with it so I looked it up. It has quite a few interesting properties!
