She saved her bus travel coupons over a 25 year period (she is 112 years old)so she could travel to the Great wall of China. Well, i can tell you she was furious! when she got there she discovered it was not made of china but was in fact built with stone! Okay, sorry folks, i may have made that up but have you serious ever been scammed or had an occassion where you misunderstood what was going on? has someone asked you what the capital of France was and you said "F"?

I am still around china and this time it is china grass. My mom made some pudding with china grass and I talked about it with my classmates. That grass must have been imported from china they said and were keen on visiting my home just to have a look at the grass but we had no stocks left just as well!

China grass pudding - Yummy and tasty and quick to make.
It comes in packets just as we get jelly crystals. We need to cook it in milk and sugar and when cooled it is cut into pieces. It is quite tasty. The minute it is put in milk it melts.

I thought also that china was made in China ? Maybe have they already sold all the china and the wall has been rebuild with stones for tourists ? Chinese are very good in business, but scamming your 112 years old grandma is a shame ! By the way, if she is the elderly how old is the youngest ? Maybe I can offer you an interesting life insurance, ajk. Since I began to earn online, 5 years ago, I have been scammed so many times, that I cannot count. When it happens, I shrug my shoulders and sign up elsewhere.

I hope that the firemen are alerted when your great aunt lights the candles of her birthday cake. Richness of life does not make you always rich.

It is not a pleasant thought to be the victim of a scam. it is even more discouraging to hear when it has happened to the elderly. Age has no discrimination on being scammed. it can happen to anyone at anytime. It is sad to see that scammers will pick on the elderly just because they see more opportunity in doing so,.

i guess scammers are the lowest of the low, picking on the weak like cyber hyenas.

SCAMMED That word sends shivers dear... Of course. I have been scammed and even suffered a lot but that is what Internet and its experiences tell you.... I did continue working for a client on the belief that he will pay me a sum somewhere... and that somewhere... never came... The good part - I learned my lessons well and now I do take some safety precautions... like pay me weekly if not before that... That helps me to stay on the safe sides... For misunderstandings... well if I can be honest... I find myself more prone to these as I am quite confused a persona many a times and almost always take things quite lightly even when I should be thaking those seriously.

such a dangerous thing when you are working for yourself and awaiting payment. glad it has only been the once you got caught out. i think taking things lightly rather than seriously is a good way to lead a stress free life!

Yes dear... I always believe that but sometimes people around you start thinking if you stay this way for long... And worst fear... they cannot be ignored too

OMG I panicked when I saw your topic in my emails. I though oh no poor grand ma, lol I had a good record for almost a year then last month a site which was a $1 payout which I was kind of testing, instead of being instant, it was 4 weeks and still no $1 in my PayPal so I opened the site and poof they ran away with my $1 and well that ended that experiment. lol That will teach me to test and think I would be $1 richer,

oh yes indeed and I fell for a stupid scam that said I had won either35000 dollars or a cruise to the Caribeen. and was sent a check for 2000 dollars but it turned out to be worthless and the number I called was traced to a home in canada purporting a nasty scam. she wanted me to send her 2000 dollars to get the 35000 I had won. then i realized what a sucker, an idiot to fall for a scam so obvious . and we were out the cost of the call to Canada. live and learn. I had not joined any sweepstakes so why did I even believe I could have. The bank where I do my banking told me I was the fiftieth person to bring in the same identical phony check we took it and the letter to our postmaster and he also had a pile of complaintgs against this same scamming outfit.

That's so horrible, I love the elderly and volunteered for 3 years almost, I don't know how there are loosers out there who can be so cruel. But karma is a b..., they will get what they deserve.

I had been scammed many years back. We were made to give money to this certain Caregiving School in Manila, with the promise that we will be sent to Canada to go there to study caregiving. But when we went to the Embassy to be interviewed we we told that we aren't listed. It turned out that the owner of the school, just made it up, all those information about such school in Canada. they promised to give us back our money, but the owner went back to canada. We never get back our money.
