recently, there are so many movies that are in 3D forms. its one way of watching movies that you can actually feel the film but its expensive. i already watched avatar in 3d form and it was so cool!..my money did not gone into waste.. and soon many films are in 3d. but some are honestly so crappy that i wasted my money.. after a month i bought a copy of avatar in dvd yet it was still good. i think i spend a lot more of money in 3d than actually bought a dvd. what do you think? are 3ds worth watching for?

The latest movie I've watched in 3d is The Last Airbender and it sucked. I don't think it's worth paying the high price to watch 3d movies. I'd rather pay the standard price, which is, less than half the price, to watch the film. Another disadvantage when watching 3d movies is the color. I don't like how desaturated the color could get when watching in 3d, it sometimes could get annoying.

Hi joeyalberta! I just watched Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides in 3D the other day. It was my first time to watch a movie in 3D and it wasn't pleasant. I ended up with a headache! True, there were scenes in the movie that was amazing with the 3D effects but there were scenes that was not eye-friendly and it made my head hurt. During those scenes I couldn't help but remove the 3D glasses because it wasn't really pleasant and I couldn't appreciate the movie. I think there are scenes that are better in 3D and there are scenes that are okay without 3D. Cheers.

In fact I don't think it is very special to watch 3D movie. My son and I went to watch it already. I am a little surprised that my son didn't enjoy it very much since the 3D glasses are too big for him. He had to hold the 3D glasses all the time when he watched the 3D movie:) As to me, since I am near-sighted, so I wore two pairs of glasses when I watched the 3D movie. Isn't it funny?:) I love China

they should design glasses that are dual purpose..ehehe

I [ersonally think way too many movies ar ebeing done in 3D...I do not like it. For one, those specs taxes peopel eyes and some of the graphics jump out at you, giving people a fright that is not too cool. george Luca, has said people jsut get used to it, 3D is here to stay...I hope that he is wrong...would rather watch the movies on DVD instead of taxing my eyes.

yeah one must be really picky when watching a 3D movie, if its a horror movie, i dont watch it in 3D because for sure the scenes will all be dark, which lessens the 3d effect. For sure i will never go wrong when I watch the upcoming Transformers movie, I have seen the trailer in 3D and its so cool already, what more if i see the entire movie in 3D!

I don't really think it's worth it. I wasn't even all that fond of the 3D effects on Avatar. Since then I've only seen "Legend of the Guardians" and "Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader" in 3D, and neither really added much to the effect for me. I enjoyed the movies still, but I don't think it added enough to even merit shelling out the cash. Not that it was a waste of money... just I should have just bought the regular ticket instead. I won't see a movie in 3D anymore unless I've seen it once in 2D (and already love it) and I'd like to see how it looks in 3D.

Well, 3d movies are great but they are not for everyone. I get a headache whenever I watch a full 3d movie. I also that 3d watching is not advisable for people with heart problems maybe even more if they are watching action or suspense thriller films.

My kids and I all agree that most 3D movies are a waste of money--seeing them in 2D is just as good. For every movie like Avatar, there are 10 that have 2 minutes of 3D effects and that's it. Better to spend the money on extra popcorn!

i love 3D movies but like you i watched some 3D movies which i don't like that much. Then i started watching 3D movies in DVD first and once I like the movie, that is the time i watch it on the big screen. at least, i know that my money will not go to waste.

Some movies are really for 3D purposes and the others not. I have watched Narnia in 3D and it was just alright. There was nothing entirely spectacular about it except for the water effects that even I thought I have to wipe it off. Usually, 3Ds are for cartoons because it could add life to it. I agree that it could really be a waste, however, if the movie is great, I would definitely recommend watching it in 3D.

I don't think that they are really worth the extra money. I went to see Sanctum in 3D and I didn't notice any difference between this movie and a regular non 3D movie.

To me, it's not worth watching a 3d movie. It's great to try it out for the first time, but after a while it gets boring and too costly. And half the time the 3D experience is not a major part of the movie. There are rides at Disney World where the 3D is very exciting because things are much more detailed and in your face. But with movies the 3D is just average.

The last 3D film I have watched is Tron legacy and it is worth it. I usually read 3d movie reviews first before I will watch it because it cost double or sometimes triple than the standard viewing.

3D ticket are expensive. - Better wait for rental and watch normal.
It depends for me the price is like almost 2 times the original price in my country so i don prefer to watch the 3D movies because of the expensive tickets.Imagine going with gf and such will be high price to paid for just 2 hours entertainment.Better see the normal or wait for the rental to come out. However, exception are movies that are full action maybe like Transformer and such , then is ok i guess.

I watched Sucker punch on 3d and I thought its a worthy experience but its giving me lots of Nausea. Also the entrance fee is so expensive and It sucks that i cant take home the 3d glasses, I thought I can bring it home for free but not. Yeah its just damn expensive and its much more comfy to watch movies in DVD while lying on your couch. Its way to expensive. My friends think 3d is kinda seizure inducing.

Watching in 3d will not guarantee that you will enjoy the movie. It will still depend on the storyline and the graphics of the film. A crappy film watched in 3d would still turn out crappy. Make that 3x crappy as you need to pay more watching in 3d than having the movie seen at home or at the regular cinema. Wasted time, wasted money and more wasted money. 3d brings out the best in good movies and the worst in those that are not.

It really depends on the company that I have, on what we've agreed upon. I mostly appreciate watching 3D movies when I'm with friends. The seats are so cozy I could just doze off.
