Does your brain work faster than your mouth, or vice versa?

There are both types of people. Some talk so much and think so little, while others seem to skip words because they're thinking too fast. I'm the type who thinks too fast for my mouth. It's really annoying because no one understands me except for myself. People think i'm stupid because I don't explain what I'm thinking, but how can I when my mind is going through so many different ideas at once! I'm actually smarter than most people think. It's just a shame that they can't read my mind!

hello, That's people. Me I talk too much but I think fast. Well, honestly that is true but sometimes people are judging me very fast it is like they really know who I am but when they know me they actually have a wrong thinking about me. I am also ashamed to explain my idea to them because they might question my knowledge.

For me, my brain definitely outdo my mouth. I have friends commenting me as an implusive person. But I think otherwise. ^_^

word - who have ears to hear, who understand, understand!
"Words are's silver, silence is golden. So says an old proverb of oriental origin. It is an exercise caution to guard our lips around the wicked.Words malicious, criticizing the back, stinging words, and murmur, or palaver in order to obtain a personal advantage ... It's a real struggle to make constructive use of speaking when you're always surrounded by people who use or purpose in the manner mentioned above. We start with good intentions in a dialogue and find ourselves blab, throwing words unthinkable for that later regret. It would be wonderful to be careful how we use our speech, that magic thread that connects friends and family joining ... life-long friendships have been destroyed by reckless remarks. Cruel words hurt feelings. The conversations that we strengthen friendships, clear disagreements, or enrich your life. I say continue to express yourself, who have ears to hear, who understand, understand!

This actually happens a lot to me. I'm a call center trainer and there are a lot of ideas running through my head and you sometimes get yourself disorganized somewhere along the way, probably due to stress but point of the matter is, it happens a lot. When that happens, you just have to slow down first and get yourself back on track.

I can explain myself well , though I think pretty fast . I do face the same situation when thoughts come randomly and spontaneously , but by practicing patience , I learned to express myself better and even now I'm continuously improving in it . On the positive side , writing out things because that clarifies your thinking process and has been observed that such people express themselves better by writing . SO, USE YOUR ABILITIES POSITIVELY !!!! ..:)

I'm like you; I have a multiplicity of thoughts, and often struggle to control them. I tend to pursue a quiet existence though, and don't socialise much. I tend to express my thinking through my work; or artistic pursuits such as writing and music. But at times, I can be a fast and furious and challenging conversationalist, with thoughts and words flying out. But I always strive to stay pleasant and involve others. At times, however, I find myself in conversation with folks who are even more mentally penetrating and quick-thinking than me; and I just tend to let them do most of the talking, occasionally adding something intelligent. I prefer to dominate conversations; but at times I have to admit defeat and just be a listener.

If you would like to do something about that I can help a little, but it requires much mental effort on your part. And that might not be as fun as you would like, or it could be a lot funner, because you could relate with people that think slower then you more easily, allowing for better conversation, and more intense ideas that continue to escalate off of each other as they do now in ways you can't imagine. There are a couple of mental exercises you can do, and I know a free program that will help you cleanse your mind, and cut out the chatter. If you would like of course. Sincerely and With Appreciation.

If I am unable to think quickly enough, I just don't say anything. There are many times where I am in fact a quick thinker, where I can think on my feet and make up a lot of things on the fly. However, there are times where my brain is just not working as it is. If my brain is not working, then I might not be able to say something that is in my best interest, so I just nod and say as less as possible. There are times where I am thinking a bit ahead in the conversation, which can be a problem. There are always times where getting ahead of yourself is not really in your best interests. Because, the conversation can go into a different direction and the mind is not able to comprehend that, due to mapping out a course of what it was going to do already. Still, I think that there are times where I can think quickly, but its not always going to happen.

I really don't have much to say at all. I'm pretty quite. I do have a thousand things running through my mind at any given time. Some I can say and some of them are better left unsaid. When I do talk, people are too shocked to listen. Then I have to repeat what I just said. I'm too busy for that. By the way, I don't think you appear stupid at all. I think you appear to be focused and have valuable input and topic to discuss. Best Wishes!

One must think, gather and then present. If you talk purposely slowly (not too slowly) people will understand. In fact when you speak faster than your thinking speed you may stammer. Do you get stammering? Dont worry. You are young. You can get over it provided you concentrate. have a good day

Sometimes i may say things and after thinking about it wish i hadn't. This tend to happen mostly when i am upset. There are times when thoughts are just rushing through my head and i just cant explain what i am thinking. My friend is a quick thinker and talks very fast as well. Honestly sometimes i can hardly keep up with what she is saying. She is however a very brilliant girl and has good memory. Whether the brain or mouth working faster i think it depends on an individuals personality.

We all have different personalities. There are people who can read body language and others can't so don't expect people to read your mind. I am also good in analogy but not in speaking my thoughts.

Seeing that the brain is the reason the mouth moves, and the reason you are able to formulate words and express these through the use of your vocal cords the brain is clearly the victor in a speed race against your mouth. Neurons move at the speed of light in the brain and millions of signals are being sent every second. Although I definitely seem to speak before I think often, I just think this is because we formulate a response so quickly without really thinking of the effect our response will have. This is the issue with talking before thinking.

I think that bothe the brain and the mouth have perfect opportunities to outdo each other. when the mouth engsges before the brain does, the results are not always what we hope for. once the words are said, they just can't be taken back. you live with what you say and do. Choose wisely and thoughtfully.

I think I am like you! Sometimes I think so fast, that I realize there is no need to say the things I'm thinking of because I already know the outcome. Unfortunately, the people around me also think that I don't know anything, or that I am too much of an introvert, or too shy, because I don't say anything.

I am a quick thinker and speak equally as fast. I believe that at times I am like you as well and this is why I type really quick. Often times I can hear me while thinking and keep going to explain because I know that my thoughts are way too fast. Wouldn't it be nice if they could read our minds, it would save from having to re-explain. lol

The brain is quicker than the mouth by far, (and my typo producing fingers :) ), so we all unfortunately trip over our words at times. The problem is more often than not, that we let our excitement get away with us, or that we want to join in a conversation that is just going that little bit too fast, like a merry go round :) Take heart in the fact that you're not alone in this, as for people reading my mind, If I could charge admission it might be okay, but otherwise, not a chance! And how many times would I be caught out with the classic "What a #**5***!!!" ? :)

Sometimes strange words come out of my mouth while I don't even realise what they mean.=/
