I wonder how my friends and fellow mylotters handle the loss of a close friend?
last night the worst thing in the world came to pass.
My computer crashed and died. This means i have to be absent for a long time! currently i am using my sons' girlfriends laptop but she will be taking the laptop back this sunday. she needs it for her uni work. I ask you! is university more important than mylot!!!!!!
on a serious note, those that have been daft enough to laugh at my day to day meanderings, i do not know when i can afford a new PC so i will respond from time to time on my MIL's PC. but i have life up till saturday night
How do you handle a uninvited loss of mylot?
i am not looking forward to it!

Go get a new one ajk. Don't say you cannot afford one and that will be an insult to myLot!

Hi ajk
That is terrible and I can understand what you are going through. I lost a PC a few months back and so I can relate to all this.
Anyways, now that the chances are initiated, I can recommend you using the MyLot from a Hi-tech Cell Phone - at least it will help you catch up with some of the virtual world.
A few months back a friend of mine had met with an accident and was hospitalized. I remember borrowing one of these Hi-Tech gadets from another friend as I used to stay with him as an attendant for a few days and I really needed to be a light sleeper during the nights... that worked but it was a not so good experience... Maybe I am not that versed with typing on a micro keyboard

Oh, I have had that happen to me. As above, I would use the computers at the library and go to a friend's place and use theirs. Finally, I did without a lot of things and went to a computer repair place and they sold me a used one for not a large amount of money. So while I was using the used computer, I saved up and bought a better one.
You might want to look into getting a reworked machine at a repair place. They usually have several setting around.

I was not expecting the subject of your post to be about Mylot. That's funny, I was expecting it to be about a friend dying, something really depressing.
I would probably just find something else to do. I'm usually playing games on my iPod. That keeps me entertained. I guess losing MyLot for a little while wouldn't bother me because I'm not as addicted to it as I was when I first joined the site. I've just recently been getting back into it.

It can be difficult to lose a close friend at any time in your life. It is never an easy relationship to let go go of. hold on the treasured memmories you have with that friend. they will mean so much to you now that this friend is gond from your life. as long as you keep that person in your heart, it will be a friendship you will always have. Don't think of the loss so so much as what that friendships gave your life.

Oh, sad to hear about your loss. Isn't there anything that can be done to your computer? Maybe show it to computer experts or something? I couldn't imagine life without mylot since I've been on it. I do hope you find a solution to this, and so in the meantime, enjoy it while you can.

When a close friend moves on, it is so sad for those who are left behind
While I am near to you in this sad moment...
I am also wondering if you have thought about your friends here and what they are going to be doing until you get a replacement It's the week-end so time for a shopping spree don't you think?
Don't they have yard sales up where you are?

U are in UK. Are there browsing centres like we have in chennai, India. Even if they are there are the charges at least commensurate with what one may get in mylotting.
this again tells us nothing in the world is permanent. Everything changes. We have to change with everything.
In fact sometimes myself and my wife use to fight for laptop time. Mostly we will adjust. It happens. some solution will come soon. have a good day
