Happy End of the World!

Canada
May 21, 2011 12:00am CST
Well, everyone, it's just about here. May 21st has been called doomsday by a couple of different Christian groups in the US, but the biggest piece it's been pulling is showing off huge billboards all around the world, the US being the main place for them. I'm up in Canada, and they've been outlawed here, so I never see them anywhere. But, I still have bunches of people that are having "End of the World" Parties on Saturday, because if you're going to go out, then you might as well go out having some fun. What are your plans for saturday? And, Do you believe that the end of the world will be this weekend? If you don't, then do you think that the end of the world will happen in your lifetime? If you do, what makes you feel this way?

Not all Christians are kooks for sure. The guy that made this prediction needs to re-read his Bible and believe what it says, because it tells us that no one knows the hour or the day, and when Jesus returns to remove His church from the earth, that isn't judgement day either - - it will eventually come -- but later on. There are still prophecies in the Old Testament that haven't been fulfilled, like the great war against Israel by her enemies - - that will usher in a special appearing of Jesus Christ to intervene for Israel's sake, and her enemies will be decimated. Have a great week.

Its complete nonsense. Do you know how much the owner of this campaign's organizing committee has made by this kind of false promotion. Also the campaign helped in giving a huge hike to the hotel businessmen. A lot of people belonging to the organization or connected to it in some way or the other were hugely benefited by it. Its really mean to play with the emotions of thousands of people for the sake of minor profits.

Yeah, whats really awful is that so many people had joined up with the idea, and sold off everything they own, and only kept the money they would need for the days up to what they saw as the end of the world. Fourtunatly, there are many groups that had been collecting money to help these people out, from Religious groups, to Atheist groups, to government groups. I just hope that seeing that it didn't happen will make them think twice about believing in the end of the world coming, and I hope Harold Camping has to pay for what he's done.

Are these billboards banned in Canada? Whatever happened to freedom of speech and freedom of religion? Perhaps they should ban other religious symbols while they're at it. I suggest hijabs as they're basically symbols of hatred saying, "I hate Jews, I hate women (although I am one), I hate Jews, I hate homosexuals, I hate Jews, I hate non-Muslims, I hate Jews, I hate moderate Muslims, I hate Jews and oh did I mention that I hate Jews." Oh no though, Canada's human rights laws mean that homosexuals and Muslims have more rights than other groups and I don't think the people responsible have figured out that homosexuality is contrary to Islam. Anyway, people should read their Bibles and see that before the end comes a number of other things have to happen: The Jews must turn back to God and recognize Yeshua (Jesus) as the Messiah. The Jews must be reunited with the "lost tribes" (who presumably mostly live in roughly the area of the old Assyrian empire and are therefore probably mostly Muslims). A quarter of the world's human population must be killed by various disasters. There will be a disaster involving stars falling and the sky rolling up like a scroll. The earth will suffer a devastating comet impact. Having said that, I rather think the present problems in the Muslim world and the plan for the UN to establish a Palestinian state without Israel having a say in the matter will lead to the quarter of the earth being killed (Reve 6:1-8 is clearly associated with Zech 6:1-8 which is clearly about 9/11). I do think we're starting to see the Apocalyptic prophecies being fulfilled and we're living in times unlike anything that's ever happened before. However I think these prophecies will take decades or centuries to play out so don't book your rapture tickets any time soon (I don't believe in the rapture).

Actually, I heard from a member of the groups that started it up that it was going to be at 6:00, in every time zone... like if the sun shot a beam down across the whole earth, and as each part of the earth faced it, it would start the doomsday. That means that, somehow, Hawaii would be the last place to go... and what about places like Newfoundland, that has a half hour difference? Or places like Russia that aren't going by daylight savings anymore?

Of course it is just a load of silly nonsense except that I understand that some people been have giving donations to the guy who predicted this so from his point of view it is a nice little con job. As to the people who did give him money I have no sympathy at all. It serves then right for being such silly fools

It is 9:30 AM EST in Montreal and all is well. My day will be just about the same as every Saturday. As I've often said, a big change is near but cannot be predicted as to day and hour. It will come suddenly. So live each day as you want to. Our future is in our hands, it can be short or it can be long. It's up to us as individuals depending on the choices we make.

Yeah I don't really want it to be the end of the world because it really doesn't feel like it will end. I mean it is such a nice day today that it just seems impossible. Yeah god is the only one that determines when the world ends no one else can predict when the world will end it also says so in the bible. Only god knows for sure. Some people believe that the world will end everybody has theor pwn opnions and when we will see if it is true for sure.

I basically dont believe this "doomsday"people were just trying to create some propaganda,i just cant fathom why?if you are a true christian why would create such story like this?this ony means that to whoever create this doomsday thins he is not a believer on God our saviour,God s the only one who cantell when, were, and how it can happen now, tomorrow .

Hi Cora You are right about people being doomsdayers and spreading fear, but yet there is a time for the so called destruction of the world. It is not the planet but the ungodly worldy governmental systems on earth. The born again believers who have accepted Jesus as their Saviour will be removed from earth before that happens according to the Bible. In the mean time, we are told to live the Christ Life as He directed us too, and helps us to by ruling and reigning within the heart/spirit of the people who have received and welcomed Him as Saviour. None of us are perfect, but we are forgiven and should live like it, and show love and peace towards all others. Have a great week. C. C.
