So i received this friends request in Facebook, from a long time friend/classmate whom i haven't meet in person for 23 years (whew! that long). Rick is in search for our batch due to this planned class reunion hosted by our classmate who is working in the US and is now having a vacation here in our country. And,Rick persisted that i should/must attend the reunion. On our chat,he mentioned the gift that he has given me 23 yrs ago. It was a hand drawn gift, with a scenic beauty(nature) and a silhouette of a woman's face and a song lyrics. Then he said...did you said goodbye to that gift? meaning-did you throw it away? Opsss...no,i did not throw it away, but one of my cousin took and keep it. Yes,it's true,my cousin saw it and liked it,now that gift is in her possession. Guys, have you ever kept a gift from someone who loves you? What's the oldest gift you ever kept and how precious is it? No-we're not talking about the price, every gift is precious and valuable depending on how we value the giver aint? Have a good and sweet memories everyone Jai- mesmerized ? this is not a referral link...this is the song in that gift http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZOnjglu2bpM let's go senti -or emo-whatever :p

Hi Jai! Anything like it has not happened with me in my life and no one has presented me a gift like you got and was later reminded about it. Keep enjoying.

my dear... i thought at first that your topic is a line from a song. lol but then i checked the link and it was a different song altogether. hehe i remembered the song "the search is over" was probably the first song i ever memorized thru constant reading from old music magazines when we were kids. it's simple enough but full of emotions. okay, back to rick... and his gift 23 years ago... wow that long. hehehe please attend your reunion... it would be fun to just reminisce. lol have i ever kept a gift from someone who loves me... outside the family you mean? hehe yes, i have. the oldest is probably a whole set of tracks, albums, magazines featuring the eraserheads. i was very young and i loved that group. aris was a classmate, my bestfriend then. i kept it because i rarely throw away things and besides, he was a very good friend... until he wrote that epic love letter that changed things between us. but even when we went separate ways, he continued to send e-heads albums. until i moved south of the country and we lost contact. the albums are still at our old home, along with our old stuff.

flutter - my butterfly pillow :)
where's the yummy... lol nice to reminisce eh... hehe i attached "flutter", my big butterfly pillow. i had it since jan 14, 2006. and i'm still using it until now. it was a 2:30am gift from the same guy who gave me "big brother" a month after, which in turn is a 4:30am gift on valentine's day. the photo is taken just now as i browsed thru your discussion. flutter is seated behind me to make my back comfortable from sitting long hours when i'm working from my netbook. you can recognize the netbook on my table as the same when i met with you guys at market market.

dear myles, I quoted the title from Rick's line. He asked me "you are the one who said goodbye" and i was aghast-i didn't get the question and asked him again. What?...then he said "did you throw the gift"? (hehehe, until now he still sounds mysterious to me) We were MU before- but afraid of admitting both feelings. We shared so many things in common, songs, arts and been through tough competition with grades and ranking (CAT). That's maybe one reason why we kept our feelings and stayed friends for 2 years. I never thought about that song either, but he knows it's one of my favorite (not to mention Barry Manilow) That was our first dance, coz i didn't attend our JS-SR Prom before, but i never missed our graduation ball..and it's so wonderful again....where's the wedding bells

Oh my gosh! I absolutely love that song and thought that whoever gave me that song would be the one for me! Whew! Are you married? If not, it's definitely some reunion you have to go to, just to see if you're the the one he's searching for and he's the one you are searching for. hahahahahah I love the song!

hello laydee, How i wish i am single (well,i am free anyway)but Rick is very much married. He is working in the navy right now,we knew somehow that we have MU (mutual understanding) before, but we never admit our feelings personally, until our graduation day,we're dancing to that music when he handed me the gift. Really so sweet...also sad, since it's the last time we saw each other. Wish we could meet this reunion...but it's for old times sake thanks you love the song... here's another one from Survivor too: this is not a referral link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QafWPXLN7MM i am sure you will fall in love again and again

Jai beta, gifts are not judged on the basis of its price, all that matters is, from whom it came, some times i have received very costly gifts from 'not so close' persons, i just kept them, but later i knew there was some purpose behind, they wanted some favor from me. Well Kalyani gave me a Shivling. (phallus symbol representing God Shiva), made of black granite, i worship it daily , and you know that was given to me in one of our wedding anniversary. Thanks for sharing Blessings from Dada and Maa, have a nice day ahead. I pray, you get your prince soon. Professor ‘Bhuwan’. .

There are many gifts that I tried to treasure but we know life is changing and the world is chaining so there will be some circumstances when we will lose those things intentionally and unintentionally. I felt bad for their lost but things change and we must move on. Its just hard to avoid and there things and events may occur and happen. Kudos though to the people who were able to preserve the gifts they received.

aw captain...you made me feel guilty with this (uhuhuhuhu) I was not able to preserve that gift... But i will asks my cousin once she came back from Taiwan, since she's living there with her Taiwanese husband (whew,i just hope that drawing is still in her possession) Now i realized it's value..after 23 years, how could Rick asked if i have it thrown. Sad,i never throw it,but i guess i lost it :(. I can even imagine that night, when we dance to that music "the search is over" by survivor and then he handed me that gift...not knowing it's the same song written in that drawing. Okay,i'm going nostalgic and senti

Hello Sis Jaiho, It seems that when it comes to love, you sure have a lot of good memories there. those are one of the rare stories that i rarely listened. it's indeed that the past is completely different where any event such as that kind is very much history for me. with all these internet cheap crap that's happening now, things become cheaper in giving gifts. I do remember some one i had a crush on, gave me a dog coin bank but it's ruined now because of the years that we had to renovate the house taking out the trash. i never actually remembered her last name but her name was ellaine. text were cool at that time, she even treat me during my birthday, at one time we watched some movies, but i such a looser for herbut i guess she was kind enough to let me part of her life at least. She's probably married now, i don't know where she is nowi never got the chance to say goodbye and thank you. perharps..darn it! i had to remember that part!

dear LK, Uhmnn, sort of my dear brother. If i've only known,i should have been to few relationship...for fun (hehehe) Really i do regretted why i didn't try having relationship during my younger days, esp during highschool. It's fine then...at least,no among those guys can "kiss and tell" they've got no story to tell but frustration and heartaches See how you've regretted the moment you let it pass with the girl you once love :p And you lost the dog coin bank...ohhhh,try to find it,it just maybe somewhere

What is this a memorable moments or just say who is the one say that? Regarding the picture is the issue for you through it whether in the trash or given to other - the issue is not in your possesion that picture. If you are treature that memory and important to you you will not gave it instead you will tell her the importance of it. Am I right or too judgmental? see you around

I just come to know when i visit my grandpa's hometown where i used to stay to stay before i got married, and my sister tells me about it when i asked where is that drawing. So sad right,i did value that gift...
