Just like MySpace, and friendster... And then we all went gaga over multiply site too right! Now we have twitter and then we have Facebook now. And it seemed as if nothing will ever topple this social networking site. What do you think? Will Facebook stand the test of time and the ever growing hunger of online patrons. What do you think?

Myspace=Mutli-Million dollar business at the time. Facebook=Multi-BILLION dollar business. Twitter is in a kind of different realm and I wouldn't really define it as a "social networking site". With this all being said no, I doubt Facebook is going anywhere any time soon. I do feel at some point though that the "popularity" of social networking sites probably will go down drastically. They will lose their "hype". Like. They still will be popular but not to the significant degree they're at today.

DEFINTELY!!! Look at Microsoft. It's slowly surpassed by Open Source system. Nokia brand was also one of the top-notch handphone brand, but now has been surpassed by brands like Sony Ericson, and IPhone. Nothing last forever. But I would say Facebook will continue to shine for another 3-4 years.

Facebook has replaced many social networks in its stride and has improved itself doing that too.It is going to stay here irrefutable at least for a long time.

I don't think it will happen looking at the present scenario. Facebook has outgrown many other such similar sites and it takes a real powerful competitor to get above Facebook. And moreover people wouldn't like to join any other new site since they already have so many connections on Facebook. I mean it is like the site should be well established and should offer something better than Facebook which I think sounds impossible.

I think nothing really lasts- it will be replaced someday..Just like the social networking sites before it. Maybe in a few years, or even a decade though- if Facebook doesn't improve it's security..

I don't see how Facebook could ever be topped, with the games it outdid the others. I used to mainly play on Pogo now rarely do, no time to play there after keepin up with FB games.

For me I don't facebook will be replaced by other new networking sites. They are very innovative and creative by making new updates and adding new features so that users can enjoy it.

Definitely in the near future. Nothing in this world is temporary. So, someday we will wake up using another social networking site. Just like what happened to myspace, friendster, bebo, and etc. They are once popular but suddenly facebook conquer them all. Human mind is brilliant so no wonder another social site will be born 3-5 years from now.

I dont think facebook would stay. Because facebook is not at all a user friendly site. The only thing that attract me to facebook is online games and applications. That is the only way by which facebook could stand. Happy Mylotting.

Hi chiyosan! Who knows? Something better might replace Twitter and Facebook. There's nothing permanent in this world. Change is the only permanent thing. There was a time when Friendster and Myspace was the hype in the internet world. Now they are bygones. It would probably happen to Twitter and Facebook, too. Especially because innovations and advancements in the internet technology develop fast. Cheers.

Based on my opinion and based on how facebook is established, I find it really hard to believe that they will be replaced anytime soon. I wont say they wont be replaced, because every good thing usually comes to an end. But now it all depends on when that thing will actually come to that end. SO facebook now, yes it will be replaced but it will take very long before they actually get replaced. Maybe even more than 20 years. Who knows? And the years could get longer too, because knowing the creator of facebook you can see he knows how to adapt to the environment, he knows how to please his facebook fans, and he knows how to adapt to new technology. At the moment facebook has been going through so much and it has a lot more potential.
