How many of you call maids or cleaning services to clean your home?? I am home for summer so I help out my parents cleaning the house. I know there are maids and cleaning services but they are costly! Cleaning the house isn't so hard.. Curious if you call maids/cleaning services? Or not? What are your views about maids to clean home vs. Cleaning by yourself? I think if people clean your home and if you have valuables then it'd be bad.. But if you do hire people then I hope you're a busy person.

When I was married, me and my wife both worked, so we used to get a cleaning lady like once a month to help clean. Now that I am divorced I do not bother anymore, no more money. She took it all. So I clean my own place. It keeps me busy so I don't mind.

We have a maid who comes in daily but that's not too surprising because in India manual labor is very cheap and sometimes the whole family is dependent on the work of single lady who works as maid for putting meals on the table. pay her cash and then give her all my old clothes and my family's clothes a sack of rice, tea and sometimes whatever I cook and anything else which I can spare. She is very poor. She is a real nice person and her husband also works as a guard in a school. Both of them a re nice honest hardworking people. They are trying to give a good education tot their kids and do not want their kids to work as servants in anyone's house. what we give is a minor help towards that goal.

We used to have a maid in our house. We treated her as our family and everyone was very good to her. I mean everyone did their own chores except for me and my siblings coz we were little and you know how then we don't wanna do anything and just play. ANyway she lived with us and sometimes went to visit her parents. Though we treated her that good we never knew she stole stuffs from us. When we came to find out about that everyone was so shocked. We then fired her and don't hire maids anymore.

I did hire someone to clean my house on a regular basis last year, when i lived alone in my apartment ...I have no time cleaning my place coz i have two jobs.....i actually just go home there to sleep...so cleaning my place on my own is not an option...and its a big apartment for me... but i wanted a big apartment for myself alone....so i was indeed a busy person back then which validates my decision to hire someone to clean my place :)

I am a stay-at-home mom of 2 little girls, so I do all my own cleaning. There are days that I wish I had a maid service, lol. I think though if we have any more children that I will hire a maid service for the first 2 months after having the baby since it was very hard to keep the house cleaned after having a c-section. My mom came out and helped, but I kept feeling that I was putting her out, which I knew she didn't mind. I know of a few people who get maids to come and clean their homes because they work a lot. But for me I enjoy cleaning and knowing that everything is just the way I like it to be.

Ex-husband was convinced that those people would steal from us, and now I don't realy have the extra money to do it. but I'd like to, for at least the heavy cleaning...

I use to have a nanny each time i gave birth, but only for few months since i cannot do usual household works due to c/s op. The longest time is 1 year. I am very meticulous and i don't like hurting other's feeling, which cannot be avoided when i am not satisfied with the housemaid's works. Right now,i don't need any,my kids are grown ups and i have them trained with domestic chores,i taught them simple household chores as early as 2-3 years old- like keeping their toys on it's proper places,i like them to be as organized as i am.

I totally agree with you infatuatedbby.. maids and cleaning services are really costly.. Why to waste our money in this way?? Also they will clean our house just for the purpose of money.. So some times they don't be sincere in cleaning our house neatly.. But we have high regards in our house, we care our house.. So we should clean our house instead of maids & cleaning services.. Also it gives us some mentally satisfaction, we can save our money, Also its an exercise to our body.. So we are getting plenty of benefits in cleaning our house by our own instead of maids/cleaning services..
