Why is it so hard to find a good doctor?

My husband and I are in the process of trying to find a good orthopedic oncologist and we are so afraid of choosing one that we cannot seem to make a decision. We live near one of the best cancer centers in the nation, yet have been trying to get an appointment for almost two weeks. The cancer center said they show my husband was scheduled for a nuclear scan in 2008 and never showed up for it. This is absolutely not true, he has never been there, called there, or even heard of the place until now. They can't keep their info straight, and we haven't even got the appointment yet! The doctor who is referring my husband there called in a prescription for him that would have killed him had we not caught the error, and his response was that he was sorry and would call in something different. He happens to be a specialist in the hospital I work in, and I still can't trust him. When someone's life is on the line, how on earth do you find someone to put your trust in when medical mistakes just keep happening over and over? How can you trust the treatments they suggest, the diagnosis given? It's a very bad spot to be in.

Nowadays we can see there are more doctors opening there own hospitals and we don't whether they are good in curing the patients or not. Just they will mention there qualification under their name which implies that they have done that doctor course and became doctor now. When patients go there then they will realize that they are not good. I don't know how they cleared and got that doctor certificate.
