What others earn depends on many factors (the time they spend here, what they do while they are here, the quality of their particpation and their star among other things) and willnot be the same as you will earn because each user is unique.
When you have read the FAQs and the Guidelines and understood that:
a) myLot is a discussion site
b) YOU only earn for what YOU do
then you earnings will increase for sure.
I took a look at your profile and see from your activity that you do not discuss. YOu start topics and then leave them for others to respond to but you do not acknowledge those responses. YOU do not earn anything at all for the responses that others post on your topics - they earn for them.
You can earn by commenting on those responses, furthering the topic with quality comments and turning it into a discussion rather than leaving it at a question with some answers.
It is never too late to go back and comment and you could start here for example:

I have no problems encouraging the new users and explaining things to them but when it happens, like the other day, that an older user was/is questioning whether back and forth comments actually earn - oh boy

nisa thats an awfully personal question as we each are paid differently as we are paid for our quality of post, if its short and inane and nonsenical you may make one cent or twenty cents if its at least five lines and well though out and an intelligent post,. you need to do less crappy stuff and more quality stuff that can be understood and responded to. also go hit mylot and read the information about how to earn on my lot and how not to make discussions about how much we make here. do good work you will make maybe a dollar a day with taking some pains and some time.and spell cents cents not sense as thats a word with a different meaning. check all spelling as good spelling will pay you more too. quality work not three words but four or five sentences that make
sense.

I make only 0.25 $/day with no task,because I'm at school and I don't have much time to spend here.But maybe , when the summer will come,I will have more time to spend on this website.Have a nice day friend

I was going to respond but noticed several have already responded with what I would have wanted to respond with and as the guidelines state we should not duplicate. So after reading several I thought I could comment here.
I can tell you that from day one of my activity here I have been paid well over the minimum each and every month.
Our earning is solely dependent on our quality and participation. Therefore, I thought I let you know that unless a discussion starter comments back to their responders they are not earning for any of their discussions. Therefore, advising it is never too late and if you were to do that, with a some quality as thank you for responding is not allowed and not considered quality, and then see your earning updates the next day you will be very happy.
So just a little tip that you might find helpful.

It seems that it is difficult to get it across to the users here that they will ONLY earn for what they do. Still no comments from either this user or the discussion starter. That is so sad

Not enough to write home about, that's for sure. But enough to make it worth my time. When I am active on here I am able to usually easily enough make payout around here. Although, all this time ago I am not sure how the pay algorithm worked or if it would have been worth my time had I been on here back when this post was first posted.
It does seem like there was more activity, and I know these days we sure could use more of THAT.

Probably only a few pennies a day with the rate I'm going! For those who managed to make hundreds of dollars please let me know how you do it! Actually am not even sure if this discussion topic is allowed, I think there was something similar before but it got deleted, anyway I hope it stays here so that I get maybe a fraction of a penny for it!
