Garden plans failed, however, it worked in a random way.

I had my garden all planned out, but with lack of time, I wasn't able to plant everything where I wanted to. However, having a small section to use, I planted everything I had, and it has worked out as well as I could have hoped for. Considering that the soil was clay, I had to go out and buy soil. 11 bags later, I still didn't have enough for the entire garden. I did ok though. I'll post photos in the coming weeks, but not right now, there isn't much there to show right now. But it's done thankfully and it took most of the day.

Glad you found the time to get a garden in. I know you've been working too much and probably should have been sleeping or resting. Will be looking forward to seeing pictures. Are you going to have time to do weeding, etc?

I wont have any choice but to find time to weed. It will need to be done. Last time I had a garden, I had no time to deal with it and nothing survived due to weeds taking over that garden.

I'm sure you did just fine. I can't picture me fixing the garden; I don't know anything about it. It might come down to looking like a wasteland or something. Interesting thing though is art comes out like that most of the time. One part you're aiming for a specific look or feel but comes out too differently than what you've expected.

Good thing it turned out well. I guess this tells you that with few plants to take care of you have more time for all of them. I would really like to see those pictures and would also like to get some tips from you. Take care!

hey, if it worked at all... my roomie's great nephew loves food, and most of all he loves green beans, so this spring, he got a garden out at Oma's place (the roomie's mom's place). the other day he got to pick his first tomato, today he got a radish and a few green beans - of course, he gets to eat his garden - he's said that from when they planted it "I'm going to eat my garden." We went out to the roomie's folks for her eldest nephew's birthday (24) and the father of this bright child (3). I've been sick all week, so I went in and went directly back to the guest room and went to sleep. But if you think you have done what you could do with your time/money/space then you have done your very best and it is not a fail, but a success... maybe not WILDLY successful, but a success

Hi kris, I was hoping you were relaxing more, but then I remember how much enjoyment there is in gardening and then later the wonderful results. I will be looking forward to seeing the pictures of your gardening, for sure. Sounds from your discussion though that you did manage to get a lot done.

Now I know what you did with your day off today. I have most of my garden in containers and they are doing really well. I had more peppers than I had containers for, so last year's garden area got a light hoeing so I could put in three rows, two rows of assorted peppers, one row of pickling cucumbers. I have various herb planters in my yard and they are neat as well.
