sachin has achieved what he dreamed that's the world cup.he is the highest run getter in test match and one day cricket. he is nearing 100th 100 in international cricket. i think now he should retire and make way for younger player.so that they get a chance to prepare them for the next world cup. what do you think

cricket india should graduate and come out of the shadows of sachin.HE has carried the batten all alone and now the time has come when he should consider let some body else take that burden.

Sachin has to be admired for what he has done for Indian Cricket. He is just no ordinary guy. Talking about him retiring I think he will do so in a year from now...he still has the hunger for runs and also the passion for the game....its just that his bad decision making at the ipl semis cost Mumbai the game and then everybody points fingers at him....Why cannot this question come when he scored a double hundred in the ODI against south africa, why not at a time when he scored runs that helped India progress in the world cup......why now.....its just that we narrow minded people wait for a mistake to point fingers at him.....our expectations form him are way beyond reach......we want him to score a hundred in every game......we want india to win every game......losing and winning is part of this game and so also failure and success.....when he feels that he has nothin left in him to offer he will retire and for now we should just leave it to him...........

i am not telling that his performance may have dropped so he should retire no certainly not what i am trying to tell is he should give way to younger players.i know he has more cricket left in him still he should consider retirement.think of the next world cup,can he continue till that, i believe no. india needs somebody to carry his batten and that can't happen as long as he is there

Hi kanchan, I agree to your points. Saxchin Tendsulkar has already reach the summit where from n road leads you no where. Lets put our sentiment apart and think rationally. Has any player in the world achieved so many awards and respects? Whenever I look at Sachin's zoomed face in the field, specially this ipl. It looked sort of pale and burn out. At present everything is going well with him but if he keeps on ploying and goes on flopping and floping snd time would come audience do not want Sachin but they like player like Gayle ang shewag. If immediately after completing his 50th century in the ODI he should quit. We will have the same ove nd respect for him.

I think you are right but Sachin is a God of Cricket, I didn't mean that other players are not good, they are best but "OLD IS GOLD".

we all know how good a player he is but every good thing has its end. indian cricket should learn to live without sachin and the faster it happens is godd for the cricket. he will be there in our minds for ever but i think it is high time for him to take his gloves off

Yes, Tendulkar has achieved all his goals but i think he will not retire unless he gets his 100th century in Test cricket. As far as One dayers are concerned he should definitely retire and pave the way for younger cricketers. He had said that if India wins the WC then he might consider retiring. He has already opted out of the Windies tour for the one dayers and 20-20 matches but will take part in the Tests. He should keep his word and stop playing in aall the shorter forms of the game and once he ges his century then he should retire from Test cricket too.He should follow the example of Anil Kumble,Shane Warne and Muttiah Murlidharan and leave when he is at the top.He will then earn everybody`s respect.

that is all i am trying to say here.let him get his 100th 100 no harm in that.we will certainly miss him but indian team will get a chance to prepare itself to fill his gap and find a player(s) to fight the next world cup. take the instance of australians they all retires while they were at top.nothing wrong in that

i do not think so,it is right that young player should also get the chance in indian cricket team, but they should replace the player which are not in form.sachin is in the fantastic form right now and no one can tell him when to retire.he can take this decision on his own. if young players want to get chance in indian cricket team they should work hard and take their selves to the level where they can replace the players which are right now playing for india and now a days they have lots of platform where they can show their talent. i think sachin will retire when he will realize that young players are ready to take his place.

you never no when a player will get into a bad patch or come out of the bad form. look at the team for WI, the young players that have got chance will have to pave way for sachin how good they would perform. youngsters need consistent chance in the team so as to prove them and get to know international cricket.

I don't agree with your statement Kanchan, because I feel that talent has more recognition than age. He doesn't play as a lonesome player who hits centuries at his own will, but he plays and saves the team when needed. Because of his age, we must respect him that he's playing so well to motivate the youngsters. The young talent in the team see him as a senior player and a leader who can guide them to bring out their talent. The young cricketers who grew up having Sachin as a role model have got a chance to play with Sachin himself, at this is a great motivational factor for them. Some players retire earlier due to health concerns or family pressure, and it is wonderful to see that Sachin was never involved in any match fixing scams. Everyone across the world admire him and his talent, and it's not a surprise that he's called as the God of Cricket! He's led the team from the start and he'll help us bring home the next world cup too !!! Let's hope for the best and pray that the Master Blaster brings more victories to our team!

asking to retire is not showing any disrespect to him nor his achievements.it is what i fill and i have my own logic behind that. as you seen in the IPL his captaincy was severely criticized and his batting took the toll. it is no more early days to quit the game else it is the high time and he should consider it.

I too agree with you.But he should be allowed to play as long as he wants to play..because he needs to break as many records as possible..lol. I think he should retire as soon as he scores his 100th century.

well i think that he should retire after his 100th hundred. he has a long sport career and should stop playing because it is affecting his own health. although it is a difficult decision to take but he should act wisely with proper consultancy from a doctor.

no sachin shouldnt retire because he is still loving it and having beginner like courage he also showed that he can play any format of the game and on top in all formats in the recent ipl matches he showed that if he want to punish bower irrespective of good line and length he can do on every delivery so according to me let him play as long as he want since he knows best how long he can play.
