Is really second thought best? First call of mind is called devils thought. Many people think the first thought is not perfect. So some people think that before doing anything we need to rethink. Is really first thought is wrong. Is really second thought is batter than the first one? But I have read a line............... Write should write their first thought and critics need to go for second thought before criticize. What does it mean. .. Does is not mean second thought is critical?

I am not sure what the line means, but I think it is related to the way deliver the message. Writer should write the first thought because it's original of his line. While critic to write their second thought cause with critic its often the first one is so horrible so they need to write them softer. For me, the first thought is always the truth. If I do have a second thought it's merely to make the first thought sounds softer to the others...

Your line ..... critic to write their second thought cause with critic its often the first one is so horrible so.... really impressive. Blunt criticism is easier task. But impartial criticism is hard task . To be perfect in proper criticism rethinking is very important.

It all depends on the situation. First thought using your intuition I would trust as in instinct thought. Second thought if you are to say something to someone. Like it is said, think before you speak. When to make an important decision, it can be good with a second thought before acting.

Reading your response it can be summarize that second thought is more perfect. First thought is raw and rethinking is product.

hi Aaleexix it depends on what I am doing as if I am creating something I go with my first thoughts as they are still out of the box.But if this is about a problem my son or a friend asks for help I will give it second thought maybe even third or fourth thoughts.I really dislike using these so called credos as they do not work for most things that I am into so I just my own brain to decide what to do about what.being creative means do not color inside the damned lines, think outside the blasted box and make something new and different. let your imagination soar.

It all depends on the situation. If you are attempting something that calls for creativity or quick thinking, go with your first thought, creativity is best in its raw form. At times, specially as the line you quoted implies, when you are commenting on some one you need to give a second thought to your words before letting them out. In general, I go with my instincts and leave the rest for others to ponder on.

Well described. In creativity we need to apply our first thought. Raw idea has unique quality. Commenting is very hard so we need to observe thoroughly before commenting.

I heard a saying that's a bit different: speak your second thought, act on your third But I do believe that the first intuition is very often correct. Maybe it's not wise for people to act on it, but they should keep it in mind, since very often our heart is way quicker to react than our brain.

So there is different opinion on this matter. Is really first thought is best or not. But most commonly people rethink before acting. And it is said best.

Well i would say that first thought is better as it is a good judge. In ur daily life You might have come across when someone asked you a question and the right answer popped into your head but on second thought you gave another answer. The mind stores everything and always the first thought is the best. And as far as the quote means that writers should write what they feel at first thought and since critics are people who are to criticize others they should go on second thought so that they do not hurt other people by their words.
