Last Thursday, my son went to the Awards at his school and he received a certificate for making A/B Honor Roll. He got a medal and he received his certificate too. I am so very proud of him, I really am. He has definitely came a long way. My son and my daughter both have made me so proud with their accomplishments in school. I am so proud of them! When I was younger, I always wanted to make A/B Honor Roll but I never did. I had really good grades too. I always wanted to make Terrific Kid, but my son has made Terrific Kid three times! Plus, I was a great student in class, I never gave the teacher or students any trouble at all. I guess God has just blessed me with a child that can make me proud of him. When my son makes mistakes in his homework and school work, I never fuss at him. I will tell him that it is okay, no one knows everything and that he can master anything. I just help him, I don't scold him, I accept his accomplishments and failures. I understand as a parent, that my child will have strengths and weaknesses so it is okay to win and then fail at times. I discussed this concept with his teacher. I hope that she realizes that she is not the only person that is thrilled with my son's accomplishments. Yet, despite the feelings that I have, she still has been a great teacher to my son. I know that she has made some mistakes, but with those mistakes, I am willing to give her a chance to be my son's teacher.`

Hey congratulations to your son! It's great to hear about kids doing good in school. Specially with friend's kids (even if it is just the anonymity of myLot). I hope he continues to do good! And I hope he gets a treat from mum!

You know, Blockbuster Video used to give kids a free movie rental when they brought their report card in and it was either all A's or all A's and B's. Did they have anything like that where you live?

Congrats! Go out and celebrate. Make sure to give him a prize like a toy or something so he is rewarded for his hard work.

Wow, congratulations to your son! And congratulations to you as well for raising him well. I don't have children of my own yet but I do have nephews and nieces and I'm also always proud of them of their achievements. It gives me a happy feeling whenever I get news so I couldn't imagine if I'm the parent of such children. I also like your way where you don't pressure the child to be perfect. I'll keep that in mind and use it when raising my own kids . Again, congratulations!

Wow cream, that's great! Your son is bright and hopefully since he's doing so good now he'll do good the whole time he's in school and carry it on to college. The sooner he learns his study habits the better he will do in the future. For now, yaaaay for your son!!

I am glad you are willing to give your son's teacher a chance. She has a lot of responsibility and I am sure she is trying to do the best she can. How proud you must be that your son got this award. And making Terrific Kid three times. That is just excellent. What a happy day for you and your husband.

A child's good grades are something to be proud of. You should take pride and your child should too in the accomplishment. good grades are something that can benefit your school life and your life after school as well.

How sweet cream and yes you should be very proud of them. Maybe an afternoon of ice cream for both of them and you too. See you made sure they did what they had to do with homework at home. So enjoy their and your day together. Congrats this is absolutely wonderful to hear.

Congratulations to you and your son. You have done a good job raising your son that's why he has been very responsible. I used to tell this that I am much prouder if my children got an accomplishment at school than when I got a good work performance evaluation. Maybe you feel the same way too! Goodluck and God Bless!

Sounds like the teacher did a good job and wasn't so bad after all.

Yes, she has. But my son did the best job because he worked and studied hard while he was in her class. While he was at home, I encouraged him to do well. When he made mistakes, I still praised him. When he did well, I praised him too. His teacher is a great teacher, I would never say that she was never one. My son just had some problems that were going on in her class. So, as a parent, like what any other parent would have done too, I consulted with her about it.

That is very true. Even a good teacher couldn't make a student smart. Your son is obviously intelligent. It's wonderful that he is doing so well, and so young.

Wow Cream!!! That's great! You're so blessed to have kids like them. I hope my sons will also be like your son someday. I have a two year old and the youngest is 11 months old. My parents are also so proud of me since I'm a student and I can feel that until now. All my medals and awards for being in the Honor list and winning contests are still displayed after more than 15 years way back home where my mother and father is living. I know parents will always be proud of the achievements of their children. You are a good Mom and I can sense that will all your discussions. Your children are almost always part of your discussion which only shows how hands on you are in taking care of them. Not all Moms are like that. I wish I could be like you as well but it might be too hard for me to that. I work full time 9 hours a day 5 times a week. Again, "Congratulations!" :)
