mesmerizing from lionel messi, brilliant from lionel messi! sure every messi and anti messi fan would have heard this many a times and once again the little magician produced the moment of absolute brilliance in the uefa champions league final to prove that he is the best and sometimes i wonder that "god wanted to play football so he made lionel messi!"

I hope he does well for Argentina over the years.

I dont think messi is the greatest...for me it is cristiano ronaldo.,dis guy as got talent and more skillful far more better than lionel...i mean for 2 years now he has won the record for the top scorer(pichichi) in la liga....dis guy is the greatest to my own opinion.

no disrespect to cristiano ronaldo but u think he is great because he has won the record for the top scorer but let me remind you lionel messi won the champions league and as a football player after world cup champions league is the most important thing and he scored in that final and also helds the record of most no. of goals by an individual in uefa champions league! i think u are an anti messi fan.

Messi has had another great year with Barcelona. But he seems such a different player when he plays for Argentina compared to when he plays for Barcelona. I think his success at Barca is mainly due to the fantastic supply line from the midfield comprising of Xavi, Busquests and Iniesta. On the other hand, in Argentina he has to go deeper to retrieve the ball and that is not a role he really revels in. I think he will fall short of being one of the greats of the game if he does not have good success at the international level with his country.

He fell short at the last World Cup. Now he has a chance to again get some glory at the Copa America. But currently as a team Argentina seem to be really faltering, so let's wait and watch. If Messi can inspire them to success at international level then he would underline his legacy as a legend.

Yes he had a great year with Barcelona the best club in the world and yes i agree that at Barcelona he receives good passes from Xavi,Iniesta and Busquets and he does need to fall deep but i think he is the greatest and i think he will adjust in Argentina and definitely achieve international success.

Beside the outrageous skills he had, the thing that endear him to the neutral fans is his no frills approached. He gets "chopped" down more than often but he will just stand up and get on with his games. No play-acting or such from him. Unlike a few other "superstars".

Absolutely correct everyone loves messi and no one in the world right now can point finger on messi for play acting and yes he will keep on going without complaining and his down to earth nature is the reason that he has build up so many friends.

I'm not picking Messi as my favourite player these days.
Furthermore, I even pick CR7 as mine, as he was a ManUtd player before.
But I can't deny that he's really a good player. With all he has achieved until now, i think it's right to make him the world best player for two times.

I am not forcing you to pick up Messi as your best player but you cannot deny the fact that Lionel Messi is the best player in the world currently and he deserves the number one status.

I think it is one of the greatest footballers of all time, and he is just 22 can you imagine that. he has very good balance and great speed. the ball seem to hang on his feet when he move at full speed. He is just a job to watch if he is not playing against your favourite team.
Now I just hope he can duplicate his form for his country.
