What is your nature?

"Who am I?", this is probably one of those questions that sometimes baffles me, for a person who still has his or her future ahead of them, there's always the curiosity of what that person might become. Am I going to be successful? Will I be able to live up to expectations? Am I going to be someone people will always want to be with? But more importantly, I've often wondered what side am I really in. Am I a good person just because I follow orders? Am I a bad person for wanting stuff for myself? Am I good or evil?

this discussion is a good one. We all need to know who we truly are, for if not we will be going round and round in circles, living a pointless life. The only thing to do that matters in our existence in this world is self-discovery, go within, know thyself and behold the magnificence of the being that you will discover. That magnificent being is YOU and when you know this being just BE.

The Indian philosophy of life emphasizes the self-realization of an individual. You ought to make conscious effort to look inward to know yourself. Once you reach that point you let go off the conscious mind and go on to harness the inner spiritual power.

I don't believe that those are the types of things that make us who we are. I believe that we are more than just our actions and social status symbols. That's mostly circumstance anyway. I don't believe that following orders makes a person good; sometimes there are some pretty "evil" orders. War is a poster-child for that. If you do your best and try to do what you feel is good in your heart, then you are good. You are not bad for wanting stuff for yourself. That is natural. You are supposed to want things for yourself. Just don't cling to those things too much, don't identify with them. Life is about love. The rest is really just smoke and mirrors.

This is a question we should ask ourselves long before we even step up to college. Realizing what we wanna be in life is important and college is the starting point of all our careers, how we will be successful; of course no one doesn't wanna be successful and die that way. It solely depends on the way how you'll be one. There are successful lawyers, doctors, musicians, teachers, psychologists, magicians, etc.. I've heard from somewhere that in order to be successful, you have to find out how your competitors are doing and always step it up higher than them, that's how you'll be the best.

i always go out of my way for other people. Sometimes i feel taken advantage of. I can't help but see people and want to help them. I think i am good but people think i have my own motives. Can't people just show their love for other people. I don't do it because i expect anything in return. I just want to help. I wish everyone was like this because then the world wouldn't be as bad as it is.

Self appraisal and self actualization are the two most important aspects of human life. You ought to know who you are, what are your strengths and weaknesses. Then through self actualization you can effectively move toward what you ought to be. It sounds easier said than done. But we have to master it.
