It seems like it's been a long time since I wrote on MyLot but I have been so busy since I started to work this January. I was so happy when I got an offer for a receptionist position but I didn't know how it would change so many things in my life. Well first of all I am happy to say I have loved working there, still am but there might be talks of getting laid off next month or so. I work for a airline painting company. Our company paints planes for some of the major airlines in the world. Sometimes I look through the window of the offices to see these 777's get stripped down to be painted and it's pretty exciting to see the whole process. I get to meet the representatives of the airlines, arrange pickup services for the pilots, and just recently we were invited to go inside the plane to the cockpit while they moved the plane. My other unpaid job was becoming a manager for our kids baseball team. It all happened around the same time I got my job. I was asked to manage a baseball team for the Little League. Wow! it's been awesome to take these little kids under my wing. My husband became the coach and together we worked towards helping these little T-ballers learn how to play baseball. In a week or so we will be having our end of season party. I think having both of these positions in life has really helped me come along in life. God has blessed me with being able to go out into the world and do things I hadn't done before, what an adventure

I'd like to first welcome you back to mylot! and Congrats on your Job your adventure sounds great and rewarding. It also sounds interesting with the planes, being able to watch them paint and to go inside and watch them operate sounds awesome and who knows learning that one day you may fly them, good luck with everything and I hope to see you here more on mylot as well!

It is so interesting, especially when they tug them into the hangar for preparation. It's like driving a car into a garage. It takes alot of men to bring in the plane so it won't hit the sides of the building. Preparation for the plane and how they paint the plane is important too. Any little damage can affect the whole dynamic of it when it flies.

PDBME2, Fancy you working in an aircraft maintenance facility and I hope you would have overcome your fears on flying. I have to say that you have an interesting job and I am sure the experience had been equally wonderful. About the lay off, I doubt you will be affected since this would usually involve mid and upper management. Whatever it is always anticipate for the worse and be prepared. Really glad to see you back here and hope to hear more of you.

Skysuccess, My fear of flying hasn't really changed but everyone who works there loves to fly. We are working with major airlines so I get to talk to pilots and the representatives of the airline industry. It is an unusual job. Right now they are painting a celebrity's plane and they had painted a plane from that belonged to a prince of another country. Quite interesting. I was worried about being laid off but my manager is going on vacation during the slow season and she told me I'd be alone so that kind of eased my mind since it's when we really get slow. My greatest joy was managing the T-ball team. I think my husband got a kick in teaching little players how to play baseball. It's something we never did, we always sat on the side to watch but never got more involved. I am also part of the committee in running the program. It's been a busy season but we only have a week left to go. Our son made all stars, and our other son's team won all but one game for the season that they got to go to the playoffs. We have four involved in sports right now. It's been running around from field to field since January plus arranging all our own teams events. I feel blessed.

You are so right as it is a blessing to do all you are doing and contributing with not only an earning job but truly your volunteering and helping the children. This is a very admirable thing you are doing and truly many more blessings will come your way. A warm re-welcome back and hope life continues on greater and greener paths.

I really enjoy the baseball team. I was very overwhelmed in the beginning since I didn't volunteer but was actually persuaded to do the job. I came home that day and my husband practically told me it must be a joke. I told him no and the thing was he would be the coach. That really got him thinking but he's done a great job with the kids. He feels proud to have been their coach for the season.

It is good to read that your life is going very well. I am glad to hear that you love your job and successfully complemented your life with things you enjoy to do. Your work sounds fun. I worked as an administrative assistant of a mechanical contractors company and I enjoyed very much. Unfortunately I had to move and leave it. Sometimes I miss it a lot. I made good friends there. I hope everything keep going fine for you. And don't forget My Lot. You can dedicate just 10 minutes a day to keep in contact on what's going on here. :)

I tell the guys that work there that I have adopted them...lol. I enjoy getting a candy dish and putting it out on my desk so when they have a chance they come by to grab some. They don't get paid much so giving them something to show appreciation helps them be happy.
