Some kids don't like vegetables. Should parents force them to eat?

I do that with my 6 year old. It's very effective! Whether it's a vegetable or something else he hasn't tried before, I tell him to just have a couple of bites/spoonsful otherwise he won't know if he likes it! Then if he really doesn't like it, that's ok. So far, the only things he really don't like are chicken, beef and mushrooms. So I think this plan has worked rather well!

Vegetables are very important for proper development. There are vitamins and supplements but there's nothing like the real thing. There has to be some sort of veggie that you can get kids into. Try creative recipes that they will like, for example putting cheese on broccoli and try putting whole meals together in one, for example meatloaf and potatoes, you could put some veggies in the meatloaf. My mom's favorite dish to make for us was shepherd's pie and she's add extra veggies in it for us. I am very fortunate, both my kids love veggies fruits.

I think they should, vegetables are very important for a childs growth. I know some kids seem to hate vegtetables, but I try to fix a vegetable with each meal and mine are use to eating them.

Well, vegetables are very important for kids' alimentation. I think if they got used to eat them since they start eating solid food it wouldn't be a real problem. Maybe you need to use some " hocus-pocus ", like putting vegetables in a mixer ( usually kids like soups ).

BABY - BABY
I WOULDN'T SAY FORCE THEM TO EAT IT BUT DEFINETLY ENTICING THEM TO EAT THEM. TRY TO MAKE THEM INTERESTING FOR THEM LIKE, MY KIDS LOVE CHEESE SO I PUT CHEESE IN ALOT OF THEM. MAKE FUNNY FACES WITH THEM,TELL THEM CARTOONS OR SOMEONE THEY LIKE EAT THEM, ETC. MAKE IT EXCITING AND INTERESTING.

Vegetables are extremely important to a child's diet. Even if kids claim they refuse to eat them, there are a lot of ways you can get them to! I have had this problem for a long time with my daughter and just made it fun and she ended up eating them! :)

I don't think parents should try to force them to eat them if they don't want to. I think parents should try to encourage them to at least try different ones they may end up liking them. It was that way with my kids.

Kids really need the vegetables. I am lucky that my kids love them. But if yours don't be creative. Make it fun to eat by providing a dip. Make soup. Make a casserole.

Yes. I think so. I mean you gotta start them early, like when they first start solid foods. My girl doesn't like green beans, she gets this disgusted look on her face but we will keep trying every week. Once they get to a certain age if they don't like a certain vegetable then they shouldn't have to eat it but kids do need some veggies, especially greens.

Children definitely should eat more vegetables. So that they can get the vitamins, minerals and other beneficial things. Kids should eat a variety of food to keep balance diet. Parents should not force but to educate them on the goodness of vegetables.

Parents should not force their children to eat vegetables, instead they should persuade and come out with a friendlier approach in making their children eat vegetables. This is because you might make them hate vegetables and yourself if you force your children to eat vegetables. You might as well starts by cooking vegetables in a different way and let them try it. Perhaps you can fry the vegetables with a little meat and flour, let them try it if they will like the taste. That is what I did and the kids ate the vegetables. Another way is to make some burgers with a little vegetables in the middle. I notice that kids does not take out the vegetables in the middle of the burger. By doing so, they are eating vegetables and soon they will know that vegetables does not taste bad.
