Using the Toyota Hilux like a family car...

Toyota Hilux - A very nicely designed vehicle that can double up both as a goods vehicle and a family car IMHO.

Has anyone bought the Hilux, 4-seater cab and used it like a family car? I like the look and feel of the Hilux. But yet to get a chance to drive one though. The price is almost the same as a car here where I live. But there is a restriction on the speed due to the classification of the Hilux here. It is classed as a pick-up truck or a goods vehicle. As such, top speed allowable is only 70 KM/H. Do you own a Hilux? Any nice pictures to share?

Those kind of cars are quite good actually. Never mind about the speed, because nobody is gonna keep to it anyway.. haha =D My friend is driving a Peugeot van, i find it comfortable even though his is only a 2 seater, while the back is reserved for goods. Car is meant for transport, for convenience. As long as u are comfortable with it, nothing else matters.. haha

This kind of vehicle is a common sight on our roads here especially in the outskirts where the areas are mountainous and the roads are not well sealed. There are many models like Vigo, storm, and others. Many prefer to use this pick up like vehicle as family cars as it is more practical for long travels and on rough roads. The speed limit is flexible as all other smaller cars. My family owned 4 units of this sort of vehicle.
