Observing all around the world of the young generation, I feel a little bit disgusted seeing parents especially moms being frustrated in parenting their young ones because of the influence of technology in their minds and in their lives, at large. I know many parents who cannot really understand the youngsters. They cannot cope up with the modern behavior of these youth. Knowing that the young generation has very hooked into computers especially into the internet system, I wonder if their parents really are being bothered on how their children particularly the teens can be greatly influenced by the system. Furthermore, I wonder if the parents should really be literate also in technology in order to be guided in their way of parenting. Parenting must also be modernized now a days. Otherwise, the gap between family members might be hard to handle. How about you, do you think same thinking that I have? I do agree that parents must not be left out too in using the technology particularly the internet.

Yes, I think parents need to be 'techno-literate' as you say it. Because how can they guide their children or keep an eye on them if they themselves get lost in the technology. I think it shouldn't be too hard for the younger generation of parents. Maybe the problem comes in for the older generations. But there are a lot of those who are good with technology as well, or who pick it up quite easily.

yeah, you are absolutely right. That is not what I am telling to other parents. At first I guess, it was fine that parents seemed to be passive on their children's passion for technology but as i see them getting more worried about how they could get them away from it, I just thought that the folks should try exploring it too if they have the chance.

hi, Parents or guardians of the kids or children should know things ,because now adays everything is fast and tech based .If parents are not literate or grandparents who look after thier grand children shoould rely on teachers or relatives or friends to get the children to be update with the new technology.Ofcourse all need to be going on without stop because once we stop we will not know anything .

I think they should too, so they can keep up with their kids and can self-regulate them. My 5 year old son is more techy than me. He knows how to handle the features of my phone just through trial & error while I am just contended with the call and text features. I would just be surprised that the settings on my phone had change. Then I will come to him and ask him to get it back how it was. He likes to discover things and I let him be. I think the young generation are a lot smarter than us, just like us being smarter than our parents!

I do think parents should be techno-literate. I believe they should learn the new technology just like the kids are these days. If they don't have that knowledge, they are unable to determine where the child has been surfing on the web. Kids stumble across things that parents are not aware of. The only way to know that is know the technology yourself so you can check up on them. They won't like it but as a parent you need to keep your children safe. Best Wishes!
