we have a new puppy! At first we thought it was a SHE and my kids already started calling the puppy SPLINKY ( dont know why) and when they were playing with her...it turned out its a HE!! hahah and now they shortened the name called the puupy ICKY! lol i know kids can do create names! and they love Icky and i do too..i do not know what breed he is, he is already 3 month old and the owner who gave us said he wont get any bigger than what he is now, since the mother is like a pocket dog and so is the father..and we love icky and he is adorable too..my daughter just taught icky how to lay down and go up the stairs lol

That's a cute name.
Now your kids has a friend to play with and also they get to know about responsibilities.
My kids loves dogs a lot and one of our female dog is now preggy again and so we are looking for new puppies.

hi,
thats great for your kids,as long as that puppy will never harm your kids,nice name too with your puppy,i wish i could have that too now because i miss to have another dog again,even my nieces really love to have puppy because they treat it very important.

Icky? Now that is different. But a dog is a great companion that is for sure. We recently were able to get another Pomeranian and he is almost 7 yrs. old but a lot of Fun. Enjoy your dog.

Awe! My little boy wants a dog, but I just don't have time to take care of one. He mentions it all the time though. I know he would love it, but right now it just isn't possible.

We have new puppies as well. There are 3 of them. But we already have a lot of dogs so I expect we are going to give these away. Because of that, I didn't think too much of names for them. I just go with the first things that came to mind. And the ones I thought of were, because of their sizes, Small, Medium, and Large. Lol! =P

Having a puppy in the family can be very good for kids, if they are taught to handle it properly of course.
If you could post a picture I could check to see if I can identify the breed. I am a big dog lover.
Other than that, if I can give only one piece of advice for you, it is do not let your kids wake it up just to play with it. The puppy will grow older knowing that no matter what time, no matter if he is resting, he might be awaken for no reason. This will make him easily irritated, stressed and probably that would result in an accident, like biting etc.

My daughters were also asking me to buy them a pet dog but I couldn't allow them because it is a very big obligation. Giving a pet for our children is also teaching them to be responsible but it should always be under our guidance as parents. Just make sure that the puppy and the children have the proper vaccine to ensure that they are both safe.

first of all congratulations to you and your family for having such a nice puppy.
i liked the name icky,as the puppy is pocket dog it will not grow more.so it will look cute for all the life.i find that some people have dogs like the size of tigers but they just do not love them they just keep them for the security purpose.
but you and your family is different you look so exciting and your kids too after having such a nice puppy.you keep the puppy not because you want something from it but because you love it.thats the great thing.

When I was child, I also have a pet. Pet is human best friend so I think it's good when kids have a pet and take it as new friend.It will teach kid how to take care and loving.
