What is it exactly that husband wants from his wife at the age of 40 and above?

Welcome to Mylot, Droopey. If you are married at a young age, by now your children should be at the growing up stages. By this stage, if both of you had been married for many years, usually you had known and understand each other very well. Both of you should be spending more quality times together while watching your children growing up. In fact, both of you will feel more childish again, when your children had left home in the future. Since, you don't have to worry about your children anymore.

hmm i think maybe its not about a husband needing or wanting something from his supposed partner in life. i don't see it that way. relationships are give and take (by that i mean not only about material things, or anything that is tangible...) i know and i feel though that when two people get together, they do need each other, beyond what we want in life...

I think that at that age,partners look for friendship.they have gone through a lot as a couple already.that age,the kids might have grown up and left the house.the ones left at home is the couple.this is the time when they can get to know each other more.
