So Disneyland has reopened Star Tours. Looks neat. My son and I watched the opening ceremony live on the internet. He cant wait to go and dosent help we only live a little over an hour away. The new parade looks so neat. They havent changed the parade since the 50th. A new firework show, also not changed since the 50th. Plus a cpl new rides and The Disneyland hotels new water slides. My Dad is taking my step-mom and their two children this summer in August. He asked if we can join, but those will be my black out dates. With all the excitement of so much new stuff and a tim frame for it all I can only imagine how busy it will be. I really want to take my kids to see the new parade and forework show. Not to mention electronica has been extended and we havent seen it yet. Im thinking of going the last day all this going on. I enjoy going in the off season to miss the huge crowds. Been there when its busy and it really cuts into the fun, especially with two small children who quickly lose patience waiting in line. So will you be attending the summer fun at Disneyland or enjoy it through videos on youtube?

We won't be attending this summer as our son is too young, but we look forward to taking the trip to Disneyland when he gets old enough.

I always say 3 and under is free. It really depends on the parents. I started taking mine at a year of age. I will admit the older they are the more they enjoy it. Really when we went they were so young it was for my enjoyment. To see them grow at this happy place and see how each year differs. We usually go once a year, but living so close were looking forward to going more. Especialy since we move in a cpl years. When you take him for the first time have a wonderful and magical visit.

Thanks! For us it's a two day drive (well, a 15hour drive, but with a toddler, it'll be longer) so we want to wait until he's old enough to understand - otherwise we're just strapping him into a carseat for two days for no reason, at least from his point of view. We could also fly, but I think we'll want a car so that we can also go to the zoo or Legoland.

Driving from WA was no fun. It was a two day drive. We did it though mainly because of all of our fam is here. If you choose between legoland or the zoo i would recomend zoo or SeaWorld. We did Legoland once when my daughter was 2 and it was just horrible. We recently took both kids, mainly because our son loves legos and star wars. My huband and I do too. It had its good points, but mainly just seemed over priced for what you get. We went on a Thursday and most of the shows were closed and the park closed at 5. You have to go during the weekend for the longer hours and to see the shows. The park wasnt run efficiatnly, sorry about spelling. We wasted so much time in lines for a park that wasnt even that crowded. We rode the Pharohs Quest, a ride I was looking forward to. I got off the ride feeling like I had just rode a cheap carnival ride. It did have good points. The lego miniland was absolutly awesome. The star wars set up for it, amazing. We enjoyed a couple rides, but I said as we left, definatly not buying an annual here. My kids enjoyed it, but the only reason they want to go back is to see the new water park. Which you spend 70 to get in to legoland and than need to buy a seperate ticket for the water park which looked small. They also have aqaurium you have to buy a seperate ticket for. So I recomend making sure your child is definatly old enough to enjoy it 5-12 years of age. Its worth seeing once, but this my own personal opinion. We love Seaworld and the zoo though and of course Disneyland.

No, I haven't been to Disneyland for probably 15 years now. Would love to go back there sometime? I have been to Disneyworld twice since then. I went there last year and 3 years ago.

Were hoping to go to disneyworld in a few years. I would love to go. I have never been. I have been close to going and than something happens and we dont go. We live close to disneyland so it makes it easier. Just have to save up for it. we have a disney credit card and we use the disney points for food in the park which helps. Hope you get to go back sometime and enjoy your next trip to DisneyWorld.

It is lovely that Disneyland California have reopened Star Tours. It is excellent that you and your son live close to Disneyland. I was aged 20 when my sister and I visited Disneyland for the day. We went in the February of that year and it was busy there. In summer I imagine it would be so very much more crowded. I live in Europe and haven't yet been to Disneyland in Paris. I will have a look at You Tube.

They refurbished Star Tours. It was outdated so it was time to bring it up to speed. Were looking forward to seeing it in its new version. We lived in WA, but I grew up in CA and my fav place is Disneyland. I want my kids to be raised with some of the same memories I have as a child. So I have started taking each one when they turn 1. MY daughters first trip was at New Years right after she turned 1 and my sons first was for his first birthday. Living closer now we wont have to go once a year we can go more. Disneyland Paris looks beautiful. I so want to see the dragon under the castle.

The huge crowd and the long queues will surely spoil the fun. So you made the right decision to just watch on youtube. Disneyland is certainly a lovely and fun place but when it is peak season one can't fully enjoy the place. Waiting for so long in long queues is really exasperating. The big crowd adds excitement and yet they are also depriving you of enough space to truly enjoy the fun.
