When I smoked never threw cig butts on the ground

Why would people be so sloppy and throw cig butts just anywhere?? The other day as I was walking around an outdoor Mall, I saw too many cigarette butts on the ground and in the street. To me it's annoying and trashy to see that. When I used to smoke, I never threw butts on the ground. I always kept mine with me if there was no ashtray around. In fact, I often carried an old prescription container and would throw my cig butts in there until I reached a trash can. I also used a bottle or jar with a lid, and with a little water in it for an ash tray. I always had that in my car. I didn't like the smell of stale cig ashes. Fortunately I've quit now and one advantage is not having to deal with cig butts

I've never smoked before, nor i will start, but 'smokers' don't think about what they 'actually' do, they just think 'everyone throws cig butts on the ground', but it's because someone more did that. Ask him, he will answer you 'everyone throws cig butts on the ground'.

Good for you for not smoking. What you said is very true of some smokers. Some are extremely selfish and rude and push their way around declaring they have 'rights' and are not considerate of non-smokers. They don't understand even the smell of smoke is obnoxious to a non-smoker. Then too there are some who are more considerate. LOL I bet one reason hardly anyone asks if they can smoke anymore is because they know the answer will be..NO!! Used to be it was a courtesy to ask but everyone said..ok

I suppose thats why many states are banning smoking in public places besides smoking being bad and second hand smoke bad for people who don't smoke.

Good for quitting. Did it take a while? I know when my sister-in-laws quit, it took them quite a while, years in fact. I did wonder how when you put the butts in a pill button, why they did not catch fire, but I guess the water prevented it.

Yeah I take this as being the same as trash and it is not appropriate to discard anything on the street. This is our environment and if we as people do not do all as little as it seems to protect it, it can spoil our environment. Gosh even gum wrappers too, I put in my purse and or in my pocket until I reach a bin later or at home.
