How About Good Endings -- Joy Ride

I always have discussions on here about the movie endings I hate...now I figure I'll mention an ending I like (even love).
The ending is from Joy Ride (who didn't see that coming?). I'm not talking about the last minute where we find out the "twist." I like the end sequence where the trucker has the girl in the motel room, and the cops are there, and Lewis and his brother are in the back...if you've seen it you know what I'm talking about! Anyways, I just think that scene is full of gut wrenching action and an "OhMyGodWhatsGoingToHappen" tone.
Has anyone seen Joy Ride? Do you agree? Disagree? What movie endings do YOU like?

I didn't mean just happy endings! Yay, they all survived Joy Ride (except the poor nice ice trucker 
) lol. I just like the....AHHHHHHHH moment of the last....I don't know, 10-15 minutes? You don't have to think of happy endings, I know that's not your cup of tea

You might get this one a lot on your discussion but I love the Shawshank Redemption ending, another King tale, I think that after all the years of hardship and false imprisonment that the two friends, Andy and Red, when they are reunited is very moving. I think the movie has a very uplifting ending and even in grave situations there is always hope

... by the way...do you think the 'shocked' smiley looks too happy? I don't think it looks shocked...lol
ANYWAYS! yeah, the end of Shawshank is a good one. That's a good movie all around, good choice!

I haven't seen JoyRide, care to give the link of that film. About endings, I want always a happy ending. I do not want something that will die and I will cry. I want to go out the cinema wearing a smile on my face and feel relaxed and happy. Feel contented. I also want something that has a little suspense in the end. The ending that you did not expected and that you will say"great" in the end. It is like those movies that I will never forget. Just like one of John Cusacks horror flicks before about this room. Something about the ending that you are aiming they will have a part two of the story or leave the people hanging and wishing for part 2.

Ooo are you talking about 1408!? That was a good movie! Very creepy! I can't remember exactly how the movie ended, I do remember a twist they tried to throw in TOWARDS the end (the beach scene) but I don't remember hwo it actually ended...i may have to see it again, so don't say!

I like happy endings too, they don't all have to be oh hug-kiss happy endings, but just...satisfactory. lol. I HATE when main characters die right at the end, like 5 minutes before credits...that drives me crazy! lol

Yeah, I remember liking the movie...but I also remember it being very creepy...so I'm going to hold off watching it until I'm back home, where someone can watch it with me! lol
I don't remember the ending being freaky, I did think it ended "happily"

Oh I LOVE You've Got Mail, and yes, it is a very sweet satisfying ending!
Joy Ride is...well...NOTHING like You've Got Mail! lol. But it is a good movie if you like thrillers, it's not TOO graphic but there is one part that I have to close my eyes lol. Let me know if you get sqeamish and I will let you know when you should close your eyes

Yes i have seen the movie joy ride! I think parts of the movie are very predictable but it is suspensful and keeps you on the edge of your seat right until the very end as you mentioned... the end wasn't what i expected. I have heard there is a second Joy ride movie but i havn't seen it, i liked the first one and would watch the second one, i think out of 10 i would rate the movie at an 8

Yeah it is really suspenseful and intense. Did you watch the alternate ending? I think I like it better...because it still uses the scene with the cops I really like, but the ending is longer and more..I don't know, evolved? If you haven't seen it and get a chance, do.
I have heard of the second one, and I have added it to my netflix...but I'm not holding high hopes for it because I know sequels are rarely as good as the original

Wow No i didnt lily... i didnt realise there was an alternate ending as i watched it on cable i just seen the version they showed on that. I guess it would have been the cut version. I would like to see it now, you have inspired me as you have with the the zone who is awaiting the sequel.
