There are many types of discussions which are successful in mylot. Mostly discussions which are 1) controversial 2) provocative 3) informative 4) funny 5) meaningless This is my observation. Which one do you prefer? Do you at all think before posting?

I would always prefer informative discussions.

@doctordidi: I believe the same way. Informative discussions are easier to be elaborated and there are larger audience than provocative and controversial discussions as some people might be offended by the discussion itself.

yeah..we can elaborate informative discussions. But many people shy away from informative discussions due to the lack of information. So that is another thing we should keep in mind.

@debs90: That should be always a reason why some of us shy away from the discussion, but with features like myLot search I don't think it is hard to do the research anymore. Besides we might get rewarded from using the search engine, so why not spending some time searching for some information? That increases our knowledge as well. So it is good for both worlds.

@debs90: I would prefer informative discussion. Controversial and provocative discussions are abundant, but I don't think it can reach everyone - I mean not everyone would be able to respond with precaution of not offending people in mind. Funny discussion can be accepted as well, but I believe there is no room for meaningless discussions here in myLot (although sometimes people still respond to it due to lack of "interesting discussion"). Informative discussion, on the other hand, would trigger researches about related issues, thus making it suitable for elaboration which in turn turns into discussion. However, I don't deny the possibilities of other types of discussion to be successful in terms of "turning into discussion", but arguably informative discussions are more likely to be so. Just my two cents. Happy myLotting and myLot payout day!

@debs90: Nevertheless, as long as the discussion is not deleted by the admin I think we can still earn by responding to it. That is not purely waste of time, still.

yeah..I find many meaningless discussions and due to lack of other good discussions I participate in those discussions. But this is total waste of time. Anyways happy mylotting.

debs how about interesting as a type? I always think before posting as I do not want to post garbage as too many already do that. too many are just as you said meaningless. I prefer discussions that ask for help in solving a personal problem whether its about family or work or his or her relationships as these we can all relate to. I hate those that ask some' esoteric question which maybe on in a thousand would care to even attempt to answer like whhat is life in ten words or less? Why would we not think before posting something? After all whatever we write is out there for all to see with your using name glaring brightly.

I think every type of discussion can be interesting. Also it depends upon individuals whether a topic is interesting to him or not. So, you can't assure that your discussion will be interesting to others. Yes, there are certain topics which are bound to be interesting. But we might not always find that kind of topic. So, I agree what you said but I asked for an alternative type.
