This is exactly why soaps are fading out...General Hospital newest catastrophy

Do the writers of GH not see whats going on right in front of them? AMC and OLTL, 2 other ABC soaps are being cancelled, supposedly they say cause viewers are not viewing anymore. They say women are not watching cause more women are working now so they aren't home during the day to watch. Of course, if we had things like TIVO and DVR's and VCR's and something called SoapNet and hey, how about ABC.com on the internet...if we had such things, there are many other ways/times we could watch the soaps when we can't be in front of the tv between noon and 3:00.
NO, it isn't because no one is not ABLE to watch. It is cause they are bored to tears with the storylines...the constantly repeated, always repeated, and continually repeated storylines... and most of the time with the same characters over and over again is why we have stopped watching.
And what does General Hospital do? Here we are with the usual summer tradegy....and of course....it is a medically triggered tradegy that takes place in the hospital and the hospital is put on "lock down" and of course hostages all over the place and Patrick and Robin being the "super doctors" in charge and it is caused by Lisa and Anthony Zacarra. They say one person will "not make it"...and let us beleive it is Sam (whos apparently in the hospital for tests or something) and SPenilli as the previews say "Spenilli is not the only one that will die" and looked like Abby was there for something and they will drag this "same old" storyline out until September and the one that dies will be non-esential...probably Abby and hopefully Lisa and of course The Zman will get out and dissapear and Jason will save the day and ...yada yada yada.
Can't they come up with something different? Are you anxious to watch this AGAIN!!!!???? I"m not!

Bored to tears, definitely. My mother watched a bit when she was on maternity leave with my sister, and then a bit more when she was on maternity leave with me four years later. Said nothing changed a bit. Then she watched a bit more a few days ago, and nothing's changed in whatever soap it was, in over 30 years!!

Hello coffeebreak, how are you? I haven't watched much of General Hospital all week because I worked late most days so I missed it. I didn't realize I missed so much. I know it might be boring sometimes but I still like it and still watch when I can and still look forward to watching it. I usually get home from work just in time to watch it and I like it because it is my wind down time. That and Young and Restless.
I would much rather watch the hospital take over again then watch the Luke and Lucky story. Now that's getting boring. Luke just wants to retire so they need to get him off the show somehow and they don't want him to die so they had to find a different way, but come on, boring as heck, enough already.
Off that subject for a minute, have you been receiving the emails I have been sending you on the surveys?

I didn't know that about Luke. Learn something new all the time. lol I missed the Lisa thing, last I saw was when Lucky started the fire and his wife went inside looking for him, which is just dumb and wouldn't happen in real life. The thing I really don't like about soaps is that some of the things would never happen. Some of the things are so against nature.
