Rude Doctors... How Do They Keep From Killing Someone

Many of you have been following all the stories about my Health and what has been transpiring over the last 6 months or so. You know it has been an ongoing battle with a lot of things New happening, and wondering where are the answers, and will this ever end. It has taken months to really feel like I might be getting somewhere and a lot of research, and asking questions, even here, along the way. Thank everyone for their Prayers and advice and it is helping me to be more aware and know more things to consider asking along the way. Also learning a lot about myself and the type of Doctors, etc. that are out there and wondering if some of this is a sign of things that will be yet to come. So my latest event started when my right leg (The one with the Bad wounds on them started swelling massively big on Tuesday night while I was at work, and by the time the night was out, I could hardly walk. Even with taking Insulin my sugar levels started rising as well.) Personally I was thinking maybe this was a one day thing so I thought nothing of it. Then Wednesday morning before really even getting ready for work my leg was still swollen, and when I weighed myself I weighed a little higher than I did on Tuesday and started wondering what was going on. Then all of a sudden, probably a little bit because of the swelling my leg wounds really started draining and was having to change the dressings a little quicker. My sugar level went from 135 when I woke up to 315 or so with no real reason, as well so I knew my Best bet was there was an infection which you could sort of see, so I called my Doctor to get some help. Well due to them wanting to really see what was going on, I had to make an apt. For some reason there was not an opening at a time I could make before I had to go to work without being late, so I had to schedule an apt. with someone else, and at first I was thinking OK, this should not be too Bad. But boy was I wrong. The Doctor I seen was rude from the minute he came in the room, trying to blame me for everything, never wanting to really talk to me, and then saying I was not worried about my Health, and that my Sugar levels A1C was way too high, and that everything else was out of wack, and that was the reason for the Chest pains, my High Blood pressure, etc. and one day I would be Lucky if I did not keel over and die. He was acting like I did not know how to take care of myself, and would not listen to anything I said or tried to say. When he seen the wounds he panicked and tried scaring me not wanting to listen to any rhyme nor reasonable comments from me. He did give me a Strong antibiotic which I know will help, but trying to act like this would not help, and all hope was lost. By the time I left there, I was crying and stressed and hurting a lot more than when I came in there even. The first thing I said is "I WILL NEVER SEE YOU AGAIN," and then went and made an apt. or demanded a Second opinion with my regular Doctor even if I had to wait. My Doctor was understanding, willing to listen to me and my frustrations and even was able to get me calmed down. She understood what is going on as she has seen the pain I have been having to endure, and knows since I just started a New medication for my Blood Pressure, it would be a couple of days to see how it would work out for me. So over all she was a life saver, and I am still thinking of making a complaint about the other doctor and see if they are aware. So continued thoughts and Prayers and one day looking back I hope everything I have to endure right now will someday be over. ~~TINA~~

I have been reading your discussions. Sugar level is higher due to your body's inability to accept sugar. You have to take the medicines prescribed for that. You were not happy with the first doctor for various reason -- we like some face, we do not like some faces -- we like certain behaviors and we do not like certain behaviors--after we are like that. You liked the second doctor. It is good. Go as per her directions. There is no need for you to complain about the doctor. The very fact that many people make complaints unnecessarily make these doctors get wild and tensed. Allow doctors to work. They are also human beings. Disease has come to you not due to the first or second doctor but it has to come. Accept the fact. When you believe in prayer you should also believe in moving human beings. Sorry to be more frank and am not on ur side in this issue. However I like ur discussions. We differ in this attitude of urs. This is one problem with all of us. We feel all the problems have to come to us only. No. there are people having much worse problems that what we have. I will pray for your recovery. When u are not feeling well please do not go for work. U will be creating tense situations for you, your colleagues and your bosses.

Well, this doctor was a challenge and the medication I had been given prior to seeing him was giving me some problems but have been off of it for quite a while now. Just part of the reason why I am proactive but continue to seek God for help with many Health issues as well.

Sure you didn't wander into an episode of House? I might have thrown something at him, or at least screamed at him to shut up and listen. Yes, definitely report him.

The doctor sounds like a real jewel. He probably was going on what was before him and thinking this just came on suddenly and not realizing or knowing that you have been trying to get this taken care of for months now because he wasn't listening to you. I think this doctor may have just not known the real situation. Stress from the mal treatment will cause the pain to increase. I hope what you have to endure now will some day be illeviated also.

The have a doctor that acts like a witch everytime I see her. I want to change but at this point I guess I just haven't had to go enough to really worry about it...I actually should be going more. I kind of think her rotten attitude is part of the reason I don't go anymore than I have to. I started seeing her because I thought a female doctor would be more concerned on a female level but the truth is that she is the nastiest doctor I have ever seen.

Wow, that is awful. You are stressed out already in a situation like that and scared then to have to deal with a doctor like that.I'm glad that the other doctor helped and made you feel better. Did you tell her what the other doctor did? If you did I bet that freaked her out.

I know it might have been a little time since this incident, and they might wonder why I have not said anything sooner, but I am going to be making a complaint for it to be sitting there in someone's Email by Tuesday. It just sorta makes me wonder where he thinks he can get off from being this way without making someone have a real Heart attack or something for sure. Sometimes wish my husband would have been in there to see just how rude this doctor was as well.

I think I would file the complaint about that other doctor. People like that have no business working in a job with sick people! I'm glad your regular doctor was able to help and I hope that the new medication helps. Did your sugar level ever get back down? Have the antibiotics helped yet? I hope you start feeling better soon! Have a great weekend!!!

I am actually in the process of finding out how to make a claim against him. With all the other Health issues I have had to deal with since then, the hospital stay, etc. time is limited. But I wonder how much he is a part of my Bad Health issues at this time?

Personally I am still willing to make that complaint, as I have against other Doctors and organizations in the past. Makes me wonder where these Doctors get off thinking they can treat people like this? Maybe he had no idea I was one who is proactive and will make a complaint. Maybe he thought I was disabled or should be and so he could walk all over me, and I would never notice?

It wouldn't surprise me to find out that he is a large part of the issue right now. Keep on pursuing it even if it takes a few weeks to get it done. If you have written down everything that happened with dates and times, you can make the complaint in a reasonable time and it should still be considered. I wouldn't wait for years though. Good luck!!!

We as patients often forget and Doctors forget also that they are in the a customer service job. I feel that when I get poor service the best way to stop that is to complain to the highest person in charge. I spent many years in a customer service job and one of the first lessons I learned was the most important description of my job was service. After all what you want is good service not a new buddy. Blessings PS put it in writing with a copy to your lawyer if you have one.

Well, since I ended up in the hospital not feeling the Best right after I started this discussion, I have not had time to think about this, but I really need to have the right to complain about this doctor, and see what others have said about him Bad as well. I actually wonder how he keeps his license even.

Boy do i understand your plight! I have some of the craziest experiences with doctors too. I want to say "why did you become a doctor?" I had one who was just awful with my son and when i called to complain they said he no longer worked for their clinic as his private practice got to busy for him to handle. Before I thought, I said "you mean people go see him on purpose?" Then the one who comes now doesn't understand why my son needs a referal to the neurological department.. I said, "because he has a head injury and your office obviously knows nothing about them!" I'm sorry you met this terrible excuse for a doctor -- that's all you needed with all you are already enduring. I would see where you could make a complaint and do so.. if enough complain perhaps someone will eventuallylisten.

Well, I am still planning on making a complaint against this Doctor and hope someone will listen and want to do something about it. For him to come in from the start never listening to me and judging me like that is uncalled for. I talked with a coworker who has seen him and had to switch to someone else he is much happier with, so it has definately happened to more than just me. Just wonder how many have taken the time to actually complain and say something?

I am sorry you had such a bad experience! You should report him! After all they are kind of service workers. If they are rude they will not have aany repeat business and I am sure his superiors wouldn't like that. I have had a lot of good and bad doctors. Mostly bad though. I have had a few who seem to think if they don't know something you must be making it up. A lot of them (especially specialists) seem to think they are God and know eveything. I like the doctors that will admit that they don't know something, but are willing to learn about it. I just went to a neurologist last week and showed him a letter I had received from NIH suggesting some tests. He admitted that he had never heard of one of them and wanted a copy of the letter to investigate it. I liked that he seemed more honest than some of the doctors I have seen. He said he didn't think there was any magic pill that would make me better, but he would know more after I had had a series of tests run.

How terrible Tina that you had to under go this with this Doctor. I am sorry you were miserable enough with pain and fear the whole day and to top this doctor had not bedside manner. There are some doctors like this where they have absolutely no compassion, it is like they do not treat people in comforting ways. I understand they are busy but do they understand it is the people that keep them in business. I hope you are feeling a tad better Tina and certainly my prayers for you are holding strong.

I won't even give the time of day to a rude doctor. I have no time for them what-so-ever, and if one is rude to me, I will call him out on it, and tell him that there is no excuse to talk to me that way. Everyone deserves respect, and no one should treat another person that way.

That damned mouthy @ssed doctor better be damned glad he did have ME for a patient or I'd have told him to shut the hell up and get the hell out NOW! I'll be damned if I'll be talked to in that manner when I'm paying him!! You are NOT his punching bag Tina!! You should've told him off right then and there, give him a taste of his own medicine!! Maybe then he'd learn something about how to treat people! You need to make a complaint on him! I hope you already have. Maybe your doctor will have a firm talk with him and let him know that that's no way to treat anybody no matter what their circumstances are. I sure hope she did. Somebody needs to.

There is no reason for a doctor to be rude like that. It doesn't help the patient at all. I wonder wht he was thinking...

Hi Tina. So sorry there are a holes in this world that think they are Gods gift to whom ever. If it had been me I would have gotten up right off the bat and told him off about the way he treated me. There are codes of honor in all walks of liffe he didn't show you any respect I would definitely make a complaint to the medical board and hopefully they will reprimand him for his behavior. I thank God my mother believed in natural cures for everything. None of us have ever been sick! Just a little thought to consider there is something called apple cider vinegar and it is good for a lot of things. Blood sugar is one of them. I get it from Botanic choice it has an 800 number if you want to try it. 1-800-644-8327. I had real bad low blood sugar and would gain weight just looking at food....LOL My husband that I have now got me on this apple cider vinegar plus with green tea and lost a lot of weight and also haven't had any problems with my blood sugar for the 4 years we have been married. Thank God for him getting me started on this I can do a lot of things now that I would only dream I could do again. Good luck and my prayers are with you my friend!

Nothing at all annoys me more then a rude doctor. I have my own medical issues don't get me wrong and when I have went to a specialist in the past they were rude, inconsiderate, and act like I'm not trying. Well you know what, if I wasn't trying I would not be in this doctors office. So I know right where your at... I guess you could always find another doctor to try as I would NEVER go back to that one. Have a great as you can evening... Could I request you as a friend? You seem to have things in common with me and would love to add a friend to my mylot account... Happy Mylotting!
