Wigs - Change your look with wigs
Canada

One of my sister in law wants to change her look. She says she's fed up of always looking the same and I can agree with her. Its fun to be able to change one's look now and then. So I have a lot of wigs of all colors and I told her Id bring them at dad's on Sunday. So after the BBQ and some people coming over, we could finally have some fun with her trying all the wigs. She's blonde and I have some redhair wigs. The red made her look tanned and she looked really good in red. But my brother is not one for change. He's always against anything new. He's 50 and still thinks like when he was 20. He's still acting like it too lol. So even though we told her she looked really great in red, she said she wouldnt change her hair color since my brother didnt like it. Would you prevent yourself from doing anything about your looks if your husband didnt like it even if you knew you would look much better?

Well, on Friday night I told John that if he didn't shower over weekend I'd "start divorce proceedings" as his lack of personal hygiene isn't funny anymore. I said it in a jokey fashion but he DID have a shower as he didn't know it was a joke lol. As for me..he wouldn't dare say I couldn't have my hair dyed red if I so wished. Because he can't even be ar*ed washing himself he has no say in that department..not that I WANT to have my hair dyed red you understand. It's a shame your SIL can't have her own way on the wig thing.

hi janey why is it that men think its attractive to us to smell like sweat. my husband was that way the first year we were married but i convinced him that bathing was a lot more sexy than making love to a stinky sweaty guy.this started him on a new better hygiene care and I really thanked God for my inspiration. most guys like to think they are sexy you know and stinky sweat is not my idea of sexy. lol.

I don't sleep with him or have s*x with him (long story) but it still doesn't excuse his behaviour.

@ JANEY: I would refuse to go out with him or sleep in the same bed or have s*x with him if he didnt wash. Im lucky as my husband is very clean on himself and of his clothes also. (You wouldnt believe how many washes I have to do in a week....Im not complaining as I change clothes all the time also, sometimes twice a day lol) Yes its a shame she wont do as she pleases. I remain neutral as Im not wanting to start a fight between them. If she cant do as she wants....sad but too bad for her. @ HATLEY: You're right, the only way to get some men to wash will be to deprive them of s*x. That'll do it Thanks both for replying!

Your sis in law should do what SHE wants to do...her hubs does not own her for goodness sakes. They both need to get over the idea of him having things the way he wants them. If he liked his own hair short and your sister in law preferred him with longer hair...would he have longer hair to please her??? I think not. Time for them both to wake up and realise that women have equality now...we get to vote too.

Oh gee, that was a bit spooky. Thanks too for the lovely insight into your family, we don't often see or hear of such devotion.

I think a wife has the primary intention of looking good for her husband at all times. So, i can understand what your sister in-law feels, if her husband doesn't like her change of hair color. It's obvious that she wants to please her husband, so try to understand her. Maybe she could change her hairstyle, because the hair color could really do a drastic overall look to a woman.

I DO understand her and I DO agree with her. The problem is her husband, my brother who doesnt want her to change anything. He's still stuck in the 70s I think haha. Thanks for sharing!!

If I want to change anything about myself, people either like it or lump it! ;) I'm too old to care what other people think about me. I'm a silver fox now and I love me as I am and, believe me, it has taken most of my life to feel like this! Enjoy who you are and don't wish to be anybody but yourself!

And you look good too as a silver fox!! Im the same, I color my hair for myself, not anyone else. My husband doesnt care one way or the other. He once said, if you're happy, Im happy. (says a lot doesnt it hahaha) I have red hair and I have redhair wigs and blonde hair wigs and he says both look good. I like me in red best but sometimes I feel like a blonde.....so thats when I wear the blonde wig!! Thanks for sharing and you're right, it does take a lifetime to accept ourselves as we are.

Mmm I guess then that my brother doesnt love her then because he said he wont change his mind. Well its up to her to change it or not, theres nothing I can do. Good for you that your husband loved you and let you do as you pleased. Thanks!!

In every relationship there exist respect, love and undastanding. So i think, though i know the right thing to do, but i'd prefer to keep my joyous relationship going.

hi magic bubble oh I am a widow and elderly and I like my white hair long much to the dismay of my best friend. b ut I will not get a hair cut to please her as I like my long white hair.its curly and it makes my wide face look narrower . a lot of people here compliment me on my long hair.myh husband liked long hair but he did not like my blonde dyed hair so went back to light pale brown hair actually it was ash blonde dye but he did not need to know that as he liked my looks so I just kept my mouth shut. lol lol It is fun to have a new look once in a while too.

Good for you to have your hair long and white. I intend to do the same when my hair turns white.....keep it long no matter my age. Shoo to anyone who doesnt like it, right? lol Yes at times its best to keep our mouths shut and do as we please....most of the time, the men wont even notice!!! Ive been to parties where people didnt even notice I had my hair blonde when Im normally a redhead. Thanks for replying and I bet you look lovely with your long white hair!!

I think that my opinion is what matters. If the change in my look was not radical (like become blonde if I'm a brunette or the opposite), I don't see any problem if my husband didn't like the change. And probably, he's just not used to with the change. Maybe a few weeks later he will start to enjoy the new look.

Good for you to do as YOU feel like doing. Yes most of the time, it takes time to get used to the change. Well my sister in law did post a picture of herself with the red wig on and she might think that eventually my brother will get used to seeing her in red Thanks for sharing and good for you to do as YOU please!!
