I think we had a tornado

I think we had a tornado or bad winds from one. We had some really bad wind that came out of nowhere. Luckily the tree that fell was not near our house.. it was down near the end of our yard. But we also have a planter that sits on the railing of our porch and it was blown right off into the floor of the porch. The rocking chairs were blown over. There were branches all around the roof and on the ground, but luckily no tree fell. I was afraid to go out and see what was going on.. and I was just praying that a tree wouldn't fall into my bedroom. Have you had any bad weather? Did you think it might be a tornado? What kind of damage was done?

wow, that's pretty serious. Luckily the tree didn't fall near your house. It's hard to tell if this is a tornado or not. Tornadoes usually will leave a somewhat straight path of destruction i.e.- a line of bushes will be ripped off, the tops of trees will be ripped off all in a row. Even if it wasn't a tornado, it's still severe weather. It's been like that where I live lately too. Last Sunday we had a hail storm with about marble sized hail. Thank goodness I didn't have any damage to my cars or house. It's definitely getting into rainy season though, we just had another huge storm today too.

Hi Courtknee, I like your nickname. Yeah, it is pretty serious, but we were very lucky not to have damage the house itself. There will be a lot of picking up to do to get the pieces of branches up that landed all over. There is a tree right by my bedroom. I was so scared that it was going to fall on me.

Thank you :) Severe storms like that can be scary. Living in South Florida and going through hurricanes has kind of gotten me used to them. But it's still scary when you see trees nearly bent in half because of how strong the winds are, and then the worst part is the tornadoes. It's scary to think that they can just pop up out of nowhere and do so much damage. Luckily, none of your trees fell over and landed in your house

Wow! We sometimes get the tail end of hurricanes. Hurricane Ivan tore some trees down a few years ago. We had bad wind from that.

Firstly I am glad you did not get any injuries as a result of the high winds there and hope it does not happen. We have had lots of rain today with heavy winds, but I have not heard if anything has blown away. I am however, going out in a bit to see a show and it is still raining hard so I hope I do not blow away. lol We actually did get some really bad wind and rain storm about 2 months ago, where as some trees actually fell over and there was one on top of a neighbors car. All of the dumpsters in the alley were blown way down the alley, but thankfully I did not hear of anyone getting hurt over here. I hope we do not hear of anymore tornadoes though, it is so sad each time I hear it on the news of some many being affected. Stay safe and hope the winds and rain calms down by you.

One of the drawbacks of living within Tornado Alley I guess. It seems that we have been having Tornado or thunderstorm watches and warnings almost every day for the past two weeks.

Hi manleyjoe and PointlessQuestions It seems that the weather is kind of unusual everywhere lately, it is either unseasonably cool and or unseasonably hot. So many from all over are getting the wild winds and rainstorms. Seems like mother nature is upset with the earth for some odd reason.

Hi HWG! This was a couple of days ago. My mom asked me if it had rained where I was, and I said no.. she said it was really bad.. then about 2 hours later it hit us. So the bad weather had kind of circled around us and then came back to hit us. I'm really glad we didn't incur any damage other than a tree down that will have to be taken away. I'm glad that wind didn't get your house.. so sorry to hear that some people had some damage done. Wind can really do a job on our homes and other properties.

I do that for sure. Right now the sky is so pretty and blue, but sometimes the sky is so overcast and cloudy. It is supposed to rain for the next 3 days... hope no bad weather comes from that. You also stay safe.. I like chatting with you.

Hope you stay safe. This house has been here for about 80 years. So far so good.
