What is the fastest and most effective way of making yourself happy?

Hi all, I found an old photo today when I was rearranging the files in my computer. It is a photo of cans of beer. I remember I took this 6 years ago for my blog, telling my friends that I was depressed and drinking cans of beer. It was such a shocking behaviour as I was under age at that time and my friends were conservative. The reason of drinking beer is simple - I heard from others (as well as learn from movies) that they usually drink beer when they are unhappy, which allows them to forget everything sad. Now when I think back, I found it very stupid to drink beer because it doesnt help. I tried listen to music, but it even made my emotion worse as the lyrics were relevant to my experience. So my question is, Can you share the most effective way (that you usually use/ have tried it before) of making yourself happy when you are extremely depressed?

Here is the photo I'm talking about. - I really like this photo of my 4-month old nephew.
I just look at the picture of my nephew taken on his 4th month birthday. He has a cake in front of him and he just opens his mouth as if wanting to eat the cake already. So cute!

HE IS SO CUTE!!!! I also have a baby nephew and she is now 3rd month old! She just went to my home and we recorded a lot of videos of her. My parents and I watched the videos and we all laughed together because all of us acted very silly in order to make the baby girl smiled! It is really a good way to make myself happy! Thank you for you to share your happiness with me!

Easy! Happiness all starts with you! The most effective and fastest way of making yourself happy is in your hands. First, you should choose to be happy, then start thinking of happy things. It's all in the mind. If you see all things in a different and positive light you'll find it yourself that the secret to happiness is just your thoughts. Choose to be happy, clear your mind of the depressing and unhappy thought and live to be happy. Quite easy right! :) And by the way, why don't you invite me for a drink? I'd be happy to help you if you still have some unfinished drinking cans left free for me. Haha!

The best thing to bring quick happiness is to avoid negative thinking because what you are doing my friend is think a lot on negative things from your past, Such things will never give you happiness they will just make you feel depressed, depression is not just a emotion its know as illness and can way low you down if not treated properly. Now coming to the point of you happiness see first of all avoid those negative thoughts in starting it will be little difficult then do the things that make you happy and joyful say for example outing with friends spending time with loved ones, watching your favourite movie you know something like that, make every possible way to divert you minds, finally when you are done practicing with the diverseness you will be more happier and dont even move around the negative things they may pull you back.

Do wat your like is the fastest way to happiness - Maybe temporary relief
I guess doing what your like the best is the fastest way to be happy,some people just like to lie on the sofa want watch tv whole day, some like to window shopping , some like swimming sports, some like hobbies and such.For me , i smoke little, do little gardening, watch tv series maybe something comical like south park, simpsons,shameless,modern family or big bang thoeris.

I like watching the simpsons a lot!! They are so hilarious!! I particularly like those episodes which are actually the parodies of different movies, like Mr. and Mrs. Simpson (you can know from the name, it is the parody of the movie Mr. and Mrs. Smith). It is one of the perfect way of making yourself happy!

I guess when I am lonely, I just need somebody to talk to. I will usually call my friend or if they are not available, I'LL JUST go shopping or just stroll anywhere where I can relax and not be depressed.

I used to do the same. But you know, going shopping means spending a large sum of money (I am poor T_T). And when you go shopping alone in a very bad mood, usually you will lose control and spend a large sum of money buying something unneccesary or even something unwanted. Like me, usually I do some research online before I decide to buy a particular item to see if it is good or worthy to buy. But last time I went to a shopping mall when I was extremely dull, I went into a shop, spent 200 US dollars buying some cosmetics, without knowing what exactly the background of the brand is. The reason I bought something from the brand was that I wanted someone to talk to!!! And that was the salesperson... (its strange, right?) ~_~I felt very guilty and regretful afterwards as I can buy some cosmetics from other famous brands by using that sum of money. So yes, I think shopping is a good way of making yourself happy, but don't go shopping alone! lol

For me the most effective way is to watch hilarious movies. Certainly, if I'm crying in the midst of laughter around, people may think me getting insane. At first, you'll find it awkward to be smiling and laughing when you're depressed. However, you will be contaminated later on by the happy moods of the crowd. The same thing if you're just alone at home, you'd better watch comedy tv shows.

I do hope I can find some hilarious movies to watch. But I don't know why, it seems to me that nowadays the movies which claim themselves to be hilarious are not really hilarious. That is, they cant make me laugh at all. Maybe because I am getting older and older, and my experience in watching other hilarious movies allows me to predict what will actually happen when watching the current hilarious movies. Do you have any good suggestion?
