Okay, so i have been leaving my work outs a it as it's winter and damn cold here. Me and mom decided to go for walks in the afternoon as it is better than nothing. She changed my eating habits as i really am full of crap when it comes to food. Now, she knows i absolutely hate carrots. And try as she might, i won't eat it. She tried any dish and recipe she could think off, but nope, this old girl won't give in to that nasty veggies. I find them vulgar, disgusting looking and just plain scary. Any veggie that gives you the creeps?

sliced carrots - maybe you'll find they look better this way
Hello Saphrina, I haven't found any fruit or veggie to "give me the creeps". Maybe the boiled peppers could be the ones to refuse but I like raw peppers, so I could not say I hate them. If you said the carrots have a disgusting looking, have you tried sliced carrots?

I am not scared of this particular veggie but it gives me the creeps. Okra or Lady's fingers or hayfork gives me the eerie feeling because I remember when I was younger, my mom made a vegetable soup and okra was included - when I ate it, I cried because I imagined a worm in my mouth while trying to chew okra. Until then, I never set a bite on okra and no one can force me to eat it.

Very comforting, savy. At least we're 2 people against the many okras in the world.

bittermelon - bittermelon/bitter ground
Hi sis! Carrot is my one of my favorite veggie but I can't stand with bitter ground/bitter melon. From its name we know that it is absolutely bitter and I can't even bite or swallow it except if I force to. People said everything that taste bitter is good for your health. There are some other veggies that taste bitter too but among them the bitter ground is no no to me. Sometimes mom will cook it for the dinner but I will not going to have it in y plate except if my mom force me to because she don't want to waste the food~ And I will eat with tears~

Aubergines!!! Used to be but now I relish them. I wouldn't have them any way before I was married and for years after. But my husband loves them and it was a pain to make another dish just for me when we made something with aubergines. So, I took the easy way out and started relishing it. My older son hates it now...lol....I'm waiting for him to get married ;-)

It is damn cold there? No, I think not. You live in SA and are not allowed to say it is even less than warm. You have no idea what cold is unless you live up the top of a mountain there or something. Cold does not start till you get below say, 3 degrees centigrade above that it is shorts and sandals and though it may be a little bracing it is not cold, unless you are also wet. Sometimes here it can rain all winter so it is quite likely that you will be wet in winter. Daar is warm genoeg om n aap s hol te brant Ok, this is about the wonderful and phallic carrot, mmmmmm delicious all the best urban

This is serious business I say. I cannot think of anyone getting scared of an innocent carrot. May be you will start loving it if your mom shredded it before placing it on the table, adding some shredded onion and a yummy salad dressing and place that stuff on sliced tomatoes with some shredded celery on top? Has your mouth already started watering. Wait don't gobble it up just yet. Share it with other myLot friends of yours. You may have to read this again because I am so concerned for your eye sight as those who do not eat carrots ..........

May be if you popped one in your mouth you will know what I mean. It should be had with the tomato slice at one go. And then you will want to have more which means your eye sight will also improve. Happy carroting!

Hi dear saphrina Pumpkins, Papayas... these are the ones that I dislike among the veggies. Never liked them in any format if the dish was solely that. I have heard that carrot juice is good. Even kind of like it with soda but they say soda is not good for health...Who cares... there are many other unhealthy things that I do too

@Doc: I substitute those with carrot juice then. Should suffice the Vitamin A intake @Saphrina: You need to save the soda for Vodka and as I dont take it these days, I have some that I can use with the carrot juice. But I never tried it with the pineapple juice. I should taste that one and maybe it will get rid of soda from my carrot juice.

Every vegetable has its own values. We can eat all vegetables. But unfortunately we have likes and dislike. What my question is "why you are not liking the carrot?". May be a situation, or not having any about that one particular thing me come to one decision, but after knowing the truth we may change our thoughts....

Personally I would have to say that mine is Brocholi and Spinach. No matter how you cook these 2 up there is NO WAY I will eat these. To me even the thought of eating these 2 is not good no matter how good people say they are for you. So I can truly relate with your thoughts of some Veggies being quite nasty to consider.

What's so scary about carrots? LOL. I love carrots, they look yummy to me. Oh well, I think you're case is just the same like how I was scared of eggplants when I was a kid. LOL. I was so scared of eggplants because in my mind eggplants have worms inside them. But as I grew up, I outgrew that fear of eggplants and now I am eating eggplants whenever my mother prepares them.

hi saphrina so its winter where you here and hot hot hot where I am in Southern california. Parsnips as they taste like sweetened mush and the things look sort of scrawny with hairy stuff hanging off them. Yuck I like carrots and most other veggies but not parsnips no way Jose now get some rest while I crawl back into bed. Okay I am up again. Guess I did not get enough sleep last night so I did lay down just now but too much traffic in my room so I gave up the idea of a short nap. Anyway parsnips give me the screaming meenies.lol lol. ok

Peppers creep me out big time. Everyone knows I hate them but certain people who invite me round for meals, insist on "hiding" the peppers inside something else, or saying dumb things to me like "Oh, you won't even notice the peppers as they're cut into very tiny pieces". What I just can't seem to get through anyone's head is that I have a radar for peppers....I can detect them a mile away as the air vibrates when they're around...vibrates in a very unpleasant way. Another thing which people say to me that I hate, is "Oh, try and eat them because they're good for you!!!". I don't give a crap if they're good for me or not as I just can't stand them. How would they like it if I tried to coax them into eating something they loathe? I do agree though that carrots (despite me liking them) can look a bit scary lol.

There are veggies that I never tried, but I can not say that I find any scary! I could suggest a way to eat any veggies that you dislike, and not even think about it!I make smoothies, use one of those Magic Bullet blenders(Or similar).I usually throw in there what ever fruits I have at home, and also carrots, spinach, some mint. The only thing you taste is the fruit. If you put in it some banana or mango or pineapple that is what you taste.I do not mind the color(green because the spinach),just love the taste. If I have at home I put in some walnuts or almonds, since they are also good for you.Get your mother to make you a Smoothie, and you do not even have to see what is in it!!!

Hi sweetie. I don't think that will really help. I can taste it. And if i see it thrown into that blender, then it's done. I won't touch it.
