I was trying to Uninstall my Mozilla Firefox 3.6 and 3.5 but its only blinking. Is there anyway I can delete this program? I want to install the latest Mozilla Firefox Version 5. I tried to delete it thru D:/ Program Files but its not working.

Oh no. Thats sounds like you have a bigger problem. You may have to get expert advise or take your computer somewhere to get that off. Maybe its like a virus.

I tried this since this is the standard procedure in uninstalling an application. But nothing happens.

I have just updated my version 4 to version 5. It was quite automatic and simply required me to restart Firefox. There was no need (or any requirement) to uninstall previous versions. Version 5 is a major update which apparently deals with some security issues (I haven't bothered to read the details). It does mean that a few of your add-ons may not work but Firefox will remember and check for updates from time to time. If you really want to uninstall previous versions before installing Version 5, you should be able to do so from Control Panel, Add & Remove Programs. If this doesn't work, it is usually because part of the program has been deleted and the uninstall program can't find some of the files it needs to delete. A quick solution to this is to run the install program again to replace the files but this may not be easy or possible because the normal installation routine downloads files on the fly. Just installing Version 5 should solve the problem, however. Even though I did NOT remove Mozilla Firefox v.4, my Control Panel only shows v.5 installed.

So if you check Control Panel Add & Remove Programs. Do you see the Mozilla Firefox 4 or only Mozilla Firefox 5 only.

Having upgraded to v.5, I only see that in my Add/Remove programs. The reason that you are seeing both is because you (or the upgrade) were unable to remove the previous version, probably because (as explained elsewhere) it was corrupted.

Well, just this morning when I opened Mozilla I was told there is this new version. But did not install it cause most of my addons won't work with it so I stayed w/ my Firefox 4. Anyways, maybe you've worked too much on the program. Why not restart your PC? Then uninstall it using the uninstall button or control panel then uninstall program then uninstall it. ..? I think you have to restart your PC. Maybe it's, like, tired? :) Then uninstall it afterwards.

Try uninstalling it through Add/Remove Programs. That should ideally work. If it still doesn't try downloading CCleaner and there is a small utility in CCleaner that can uninstall it. Try this. If it does not work I shall tell you more advanced methods.

Ok. Try CCleaner. If it does not work, try directly installing Mozilla 5.0, it would ideally uninstall the previous version and then install itself. If this does not work, let me know. I am online for the next hour or maybe more. I will immediately tell you how it is done through some advanced steps. But try these before as they are easier.

You could go to your C drive and then program files and find that file and uninstall it that way.I have never had no problems with that program so that is the only thing I can think of to help you.I wish you luck and have a great day.

U mean u can't delete the entire browser? Why can't u just upgrade the browser instead? Most of the time, i won't delete any browsers if i wanna upgrade them to the latest version. Since it worked that way for me, i'm still using that method.. haha =D Maybe u can try that as well? IF u are bent on deleting it, u can try looking for your answers online ^^

Did you try to uninstall using the control panel? I don't know if it is possible to uninstall programs any other way. Give it a try.

That is really weird, maybe they have something different than others and you should check their FAQs, but 99% of the programs can be unistalled in the panel control...

You have had a good deal of response here, so I hope you have found something that works. I'm quite happy with Chrome myself. I guess, in a real pinch, you could always wipe the PC and reload Windows. A lot of hassle, but sometimes it's a useful tool to rid yourself of other unwanted files too.

Are you sure that you need to uninstall the later version?, I canĀ“t tell about Mozilla, but, when I do install an upgrade version it simply overwrite the later one. If the programs ask you to delete the previous one, maybe you can find some instructions in the control panel if you use windows.

Just install the new version and I think it will remove the old one for you.

You don't need to uninstall the older version and install the newest version right. Just install the newest one and you will get the newest version one. Coz the program is already recognise and know how to install it better. Sure ly it is difficult to delete from D:/program files the best way is deleted it from the windows control panel add / remove program that is the bet way and the easiest way. No need to worry about it usually just install the program and you will get the best result
