Do you go into a discussion without an intention of responding?

I do. There are discussions that are interesting but I don't have any comment so I'm curious as to what the others have said. Others, I'm curious if there were someone out there with the same opinion as me. I do have the tendency of just commenting on responses rather than posting my own. Now I'm wondering if this is normal, and if there are others like me as well. Or do you really have to respond to every discussion you're interested in? Respond to this one, okay?

I am the type that love responding to all discussion. I try my best to find answers to other people question. I do not post question that much but I concentrate on answering other people questions and that help to increase my earnings.

@pontless: Me too. When I respond to discussions I also comment on others' responses. Usually the one before me. @naija: Thanks for responding to this discussion. :)

I only open the ones I think I can add something to... and then I try to leave two comments.. one on another thread within the discussion.

To my opinion, I'm just commenting on discussions that's interesting and worthwhile. I don't know to some here. They're just replying or commenting just for the $. I hate that! I came here just to site opinions and learn from others! I became a member here because some of my friends was saying that the site is a nice site to discuss questions, problems etc. about anything. I haven't notice earlier that the site pays you to just post any comment or reply or add a discussion! It's not like that you would reply on a discussion and you'll have a dollar or so! Pffft! I comment on discussions that are very interesting!

@alvin: Don't be so mean. You have no proof of your accusation. And it is true that not everyone is here for the money. Like you and I for example. @minimoyz: Insulting other people's grammar is a violation. Read the rules. Anyway, your name reminds me of a book I've read. Arthur and the minimoys. Did you get your name from there?

@swirlz: I wasn't insulting anyone. I was just trying to make a point that many on this site have many wrong grammars and wrong spellings. I wasn't pinpointing on anyone so why will be that a violation? And if I was pinpointing anyone I would have said his/her name here. I wasn't insulting the creator of this discussion either! hehehe! P.S. I've got my username on that movie actually! Nice movie though!

You know what bro just to clear this thing, I'm making $425.00 a week at oDesk for photoshopping and graphic designing so I don't need this site just to make dollars! If you want to improve your English just look for different sites that's better than this because many comments and discussions here are wrong grammar and have wrong spelling!

Hi there, i have replied this kind of discussion several time. Well no i have never responded to any discussion without intention of not doing so. I think if you get any returns on the hard-work you do. You should never take them for granted. I think if you have to do something just do it with whole heart, we can't do or be disgrace everywhere and anywhere, i never come to mylot if i am bored or i got no time from my work. I will only come when i have time or i feel like i have been away a lot from it. But i have never and won't be disgrace for anything that is true to me.

Well, maybe you have mistaken my question for something else, because you didn't answer it. Or maybe misunderstood it. I was saying that I go into discussions not because I want to respond, but to see other people's responses, because they seem like fun, or funny, or to see if someone thinks like me. It's not I "respond because I have to". It's the other way around. I check a discussion even if I don't want to respond. I don't understand what you mean by being a disgrace, I hope I'm no such thing here. And doing things whole-heartedly, I am enjoying as far as I know. This isn't work to me, so I don't see why it would be difficult.

I quite agree with you. There could be discussions where one would just go through what others have to say but not respond. I do that. I may not comment. We have choices here.

Even I do the same sometimes. i mean just commenting on some others responses instead of my response. And also whenever I see the discussions with last response of my friend I do visit them just to see their responses.

True, true. I do check the responses of my friend as well. And often, you find something to comment on his comment.

No, I do not go into a discussion without intention of responding; I have to divide my time between commenting here and other events in my real life, so I don't have time to waste looking at and reading article I have no interest in or intention to respond to. I choose the discussion to read by its title and topic, then I read the writer's brief description of the topic, then I decide whether it is interesting enough for me to voice my opinion; then and only then do I decide to hit the response button.

I have had moments like yours at times too. I do read all responses and comments and if I see my response will be duplicated I may just comment to add to an already response. Sometimes after doing so on several pages, more comes up and then I might go ahead and place a response. But I have had discussions at times where I read in total and then found that I did not have anything of substance to respond and or comment with.

I do feel that way too. I don't feel right posting what is already posted by someone else.

I usually go into a discussion with an interest already on whatever the topic is being presented, so I want to discuss it, if others have already stated what I want to say, sometimes I will comment and add in that way. Sometimes, I am inspired to write something else and other times not. Sometimes, I read or skim through and the original post was not what I thought so I decide if I want to stay or leave. My focus here is just trying to stay within my interests and discuss things in meaningful ways instead of just responding to discussions just for the discussion's sake.

Responding for discussion sake is a good thing. It's the responding for posting's sake is what turns me off. I don't want to post just because I have to. You're right. Discussions should be meaningful. Something all of us would learn from.

Hi swirlz, Sometimes i do it but most of the time i don't. I like to respond to the discussions which i feel i should respond or to share to make it valuable. There had been times when i used to think what should i write but that was when i was newbie and was unfamiliar with people out there on MYLOT but with times i have known people & people have known me so its always a pleasure feeling to share your opinions & get to know other's opinion when you are familiar with them.

Hello again swirlz! My eMail notification says "Congratulations, you earned a myLot best response!" I was hoping that it would say; "Congratulations you won a 100 bucks for best response in myLot". HAHAHAHA! Fat chance I could say! But anyway this make up my day. Sometimes I don't respond to discussions that only waste a good deal of my time. When I see some discussions that interest me, I just look at the responds or replies then I read them. When most of the responds answers the question that has been put up, I don't respond to the question at all because my opinion will be the same as the one already posted. But I would respond to answers that seem to me that it doesn't have sense or seems wrong to me. Off course I respect everyone's opinion but I will correct any opinion that don't don't answer the question.

I do that all time. I think I'm even worst then you. I don't even bother posting or commenting in some discussions. This is because, my opinion is exactly the same as someone who have posted so i don't even border about it. In order to counter that, I don't even read others comments so that i and keep writing what I think about the discussion inside. Just let is out naturally. Imagine it was only between you and the discussion starter.

I usually do respond to the main discussion but rarely comment on other response although I do occasionally do that as well. Often I will find that I have nothing to say but if it came in a mylot digest the whole discussion isn't there so I go in to see what I missed. Sometimes there is nothing to respond to and others I am interested in.

i do the same thing. i just want to see what people out there have to say what they think and yada yada yada. if i find something someone said inspiring ill comment to them and tell them i agree or what ever it is i want to say but right before i came to this one i randomly looked at a discussion just to see what it was about and what people had to say on it.

I think that if I know something about what is being talked about then I respond or make a comment to it. I have a few things to say about some things and I am also curious on how other feel about it.

I have not been on here in about a month or maybe longer, and I just wanted to take a moment to respond to your discussion post. I have done just what you mentioned in your discussion at times, I did it for a while before responding to this one, I also enjoy reading the other comments and of course seeing who has the same opinion I have on the topic of discussion. I think a lot of people do this, of course I could be wrong, but I think it's very common for people to do this. I feel if they have the same thoughts as myself, there is no need to respond. It is interesting to read the comments posted.

No, not usually. If I open a discussion, I will be interested enough to respond. I don't open anything I wouldn't want to comment on.. or I try not to anyway. I hate wasting time, so I just go to the ones I think I want to comment on.
