How accurate is your local McDonald's?

We don't eat at our local McDonald's very often but, in the summer, they have all sodas and iced coffees for $1.00, any size. So, my daughters and I are regularly passing through the drive-thru or going in to pick up vanilla iced coffees. You really can't beat that price However, on more than a few occasions, they have forgotten to add the vanilla syrup so the drink tastes really awful. Just like unpleasant cold coffee with a straw It seems that our McDonald's has a pretty high error rate for orders. If we do order food, we check the bag now before we leave the parking lot because we frequently get the wrong sandwiches, there are fries missing or they are the wrong size, and now they keep messing up the iced coffees. I used to accept small errors and not bother going back in but now I do. I just want to have what I paid for. My daughter has also started filling out customer satisfaction surveys because they give the information on the back of your receipt on where to do that. How is your McDonald's for accuracy?

Amazingly enough, the McDonalds near me is very good at getting the orders right. As a matter of fact, I can't remember when they ever messed up my order. I guess I'm lucky to have such good service. I think if I was having the problems you are having, I would check my order right at the window before I even pull away. Especially for the coffee drinks. It would be easy to take a quick sip and hand it right back to them if they got it wrong. I would also be making complaints to the corporate complaint line too. There should be a placard right near the window where they hand you your order with the store number and the manager's name. There is really no excuse for consistently bad service. It shows poor management and they should definitely have to answer for it.

I used to always be the "don't make waves" type of person -- until I got fed up with the mistakes. My older daughter is now the same way. When things are wrong, we speak up or go back into the restaurant. My daughter recently called for a manager after trying to order coffee and a muffin and having it done wrong multiple times (really ridiculous for something SO simple). The manager acknowledged that she was served by an employee in training and that the person would like not make the cut. You're right that consistently bad service is not something to be excused!

Only problems at my local McDonalds a couple times didn't give enough straws but other than that the food has always been accurate. I have never tried their iced coffees yet but would like to. The frozen strawberry lemonade is ok but I think Long John Silver's frozen lemonades are better.

Wow... another thing that our local McDonald's doesn't have. I've never tasted frozen strawberry lemonade. It's interesting how, even though McDonald's is a chain, there are many different regional menu items.

Ugh, I hate the frozen strawberry lemonade. I only had it once so maybe it was just the way the person I got made it, but it wasn't very good in my opinion. It started looking gross after I finished eating too lol.

I am thinking even though their franchised but individually owned. The frozen strawberry lemonades are ok. The 1st one I had was ok not great just ok. The 2nd time it was a bit better had little more strawberry in it. If you have a Long John Silvers try their frozen lemonades they are really good.

chicken beast - Not sure if you can make it out, but macdonalds calls their meat CHICKEN BEAST
I very rarely eat there, But even their website is messed up sometimes... I was checking to see what kind of calories were in the south west chicken sandwich, cause on the rare occasion i do eat there that's what i like. Their website, in the ingredients list, was "chicken BEAST meat".. ew.

Oh my goodness Next time I am in the mood for some chicken beast, I will know where to go hee hee But, seriously, I'm always surprised to see errors like that on major websites. You'd think someone would be reviewing much more carefully because their presence should be impeccable.

OMG, how can you NOT see that? Mind you, spelling errors seem to jump off the screen or page at me. I'm sure a lot of times, we expect to see a certain thing so we see it even though it's not there LOL Good for you for calling, though... it's to their benefit to not have mistakes.

Not too bad..but there have been some occasions. It's mostly things left out of the order. I have got a couple of fountain drinks that were just carbonated water I know they are busy but geez!

Ewwwwwwwwwww! That must be gross to take a big sip of a drink and get just the carbonated water Drinks and coffees, you usually don't know they messed them up until you actually swallow some - which is an entirely unpleasant way to have to find out LOL I can see forgetting to put something in a bag but not noticing that a fountain drink is missing the syrup or not pushing the button for the cream/milk or sugar in a coffee that someone JUST ordered?

For me no problems. I would have visited Mcdonalds in various centers and I got what I wanted. For me the requirement is simple. I always take vegtable burger--with cheese. I also take chocolate hot drink. I never drink soda or iced coffee which u say is priced at $1. It is better to check the cover before leaving so that there are no problems. have a nice week end.

I don't think they have vegetable burgers at the McDonald's where I live... but most of the other fast food places do. I like them too :) I don't order them often but I've had them and enjoyed them... but I don't include the cheese. I'm not a big fan of cheese on burgers or sandwiches for some reason.

cheese means more fat. I am not that fat so I enjoy taking with cheese also. Sometimes I have them with potato gravy also.

The McDonald's that I go rarely make mistakes on the orders. Actually, I can't even remember when was the last time that something came wrong. But, we always check the bag after leaving the drive-thru, because if something is wrong when we get at home, we probably wouldn't return. But, sometimes I order McDonald's to delivery. The delivery make mistakes more usual, one time I received a order of other client. The delivery guy was already left, it was a more expensive sandwich, but that time all I want was a Big Mac. I didn't called to change the order because it was too late.

Wow, McDonald's delivers where you live... we have a lot of restaurants that do deliveries but McDonald's does not offer that service. Our local one is open 24/7 but, for a period of time overnight, it is only available for the drive-thru. You cannot go in and sit in the restaurant between, I believe, midnight and 4AM. That's their time for cleaning the premises and doing the other tasks for which they cannot also have customers in the building.

Oh that's cool... my sister orders her pizza online from Domino's. She loves doing that because she always seems to get the right thing... she used to have mistakes with that, too, if someone was taking her order over the phone. I bet if McDonald's here had delivery they would be REALLY busy!

The delivery saved me a lot of times! lol Sometimes, you just get home so tired that the last thing you want to do is cook! And, order other type of meals cost a lot more, so, I usually order a McDonald's. It's really good because you can make your order online and they deliver pretty fast.

So far I haven't had any issues with McDonald's. I wish we had any drink for $1.00 here. I think the only one we have is the sweet tea so that's what I tend to go for when it's hot outside. I would be really upset if I were in your situation because I'm paying money so I would expect to get what I paid for. I hope that they fix the issue with their staff as soon as possible because eventually it will hurt business (if it hasn't already).

There are times we pass through the drive-thru and not all of our orders are in the bag. Or they forget to give straws for Coke float. Coke float isn't fun without straw, right? So we really have to check.

Oh cool! We don't have Coke floats at our McDonald's... probably a good thing, too, because one of my daughters LOVES those and she would be buying them all the time I agree with you on the forgotten items - much of the time, we have no straws, no napkins, no ketchup or dipping sauces (if we've order McNuggets). I mean, since we are taking the food home, we can manage but that's not the case for so many people that are eating on the run, in their car, etc.

I love our local McDonald's. They're polite and they always do it right. Love their customer service skills. I often stay there almost everyday. Cause I work at the same building with the McDonald's store. One thing that caught my attention though, is their pricing. A regular cheeseburger is priced 84.00 (PHP)- but a DOUBLE cheeseburger is 80.00 PHP.. I mean wha? I think that's obviously inaccurate. But I think they're aware. Almost all their customers would notice right away. I think they just can't change it cause they follow the same pricing for the entire country so yeah.

I think it's great that you have such a good experience! There are a lot of people that work in fast food outlets and do an excellent job! There are some older ladies that work the breakfast shift at our franchise and my gosh they are soooo nice. They treat the customers like family and really put a smile on people's faces at the start of their day Ummm, that pricing does seem wrong... I wonder if they are trying to "push" or promote the double cheeseburger more for some reason. Might explain the price difference? Weird!

My McDonald's over here is pretty good at orders. I mean, McDonald's food really isn't healthy, but at least they get the order right. Usually everything I order is inside the bad, and we can leave however soon or late we want. I hate it, though, when you check your bag of food after you leave the parking lot when you're on the road, and you realize they forget an item, so you have to turn around and go back to get it. It's happened to me too many times.

It's just frustrating, isn't it? Especially when you go through the drive-thru and the cashier reads back your order to you and you confirm that, yes, that's what you want... then you get your bags and things are wrong or missing. I know the person taking the orders isn't always the person filling the orders but someone needs to do a last-step verification.

I've had the spicy chicken burger here in Canada too... and it's quite tasty :) The walnut brownie ice cream, we don't have though... but it sounds delicious. I find McDonald's expensive too. For what it costs to buy a meal for a whole family, I am more likely to go to the grocery store and pick up something healthier.

I think McDonald's is the fast food chain with the most errors in my area. I barely go there and when I do I always have to check the bag for missing food or the wrong food. Always problems, and when it's not that, the person taking the order doesn't know what they are doing and charges me more/less than they should and blames me.

Unfortunately, I have to agree too, belonephobicgirl... out of any fast food place in my town, McDonald's seems to have the highest error rate. I imagine they also probably sell more food than any of the other chains, and have more orders to fill, but I still think the error rate, overall, is much higher.

I remember when McDonald's came to my town when I was a child. Until that time, we used to get our hamburgers from small, local restaurants or from the roadside stands that sold burgers, hot dogs and french fries during the nice weather periods. The quality of that food was excellent because it was all homemade and only prepared when you placed your order

I do not have any issues with my local McDonald restaurant. I only go there went i am in a hurry and need a quick and cheap bite. However there was one time me and my friends were in camp. So we called for McDonald delivery. We bought a load of cheeseburgers set meal. Because it was in the night and my friend was too lazy to count, We got cheated of 5 burgers as they changed them into À la carte. However they charged as at all set meals. So we called them up and complain. However they refused to give us a refund and said that we ate all the fries and drank all the sprite already. McDonald has the worst service.

That's really unfortunate... I hope that there was enough food to go around and that no one was left hungry because of those missing burgers. I have found the management at our McDonald's to be very good about handling complaints and fixing mistakes... but I just think the rate of mistakes is too high in the first place.

I think there are issues at many fast food places. I believe what is going on is that many businesses, such as McDonald's are hiring for minimum wage and overworking the employees. They are constantly pushed to complete orders fast and many of the employees are so overworked that they are not thinking clearly while putting together the orders. I as you do not visit McDonald's often but can tell you that when I asked for 2 creams and 2 sugars in my coffee the last time I went I received a black coffee with no sugar. I walked inside and told them the coffee has no cream and no sugar. So they remade it again and put the cream but no sugar. Grrrr! So negligence, overworked and very underpaid employees is what the issue around here is.

I agree with what you say, hardworkinggurl. Also, I would add that, around here anyway, the McDonald's hires very young staff. I completely support creating opportunities for young people to work and to gain experience and learn responsibility. However, at our McDonald's, I've seen several instances where the staff is laughing and joking around with each other rather than paying attention to what they are doing. They actually have to be pushed back to work by the manager. That's just not right. My daughter shares your frustration over your coffee! She buys a lot of coffee and McDonald's often gets it wrong. The thing that surprised her most, though, is that she goes to Tim Horton's, which specializes in coffee, and they mess up her order all the time. In our case, though, it's also a language issue. We have two official languages, English and French, but many of the local outlets are quick to hire only French-speaking staff. Counter staff is "supposed" to be able to serve in either language. I, and my daughters, speak French fluently but, when we order in a restaurant, for example, we prefer to do it in English. Sometimes we get so frustrated at all the mistakes that we switch to French in an attempt to at least get what we want.

Well, until now I haven't had bad experiences in McDonald's, but it doesn't mean that other people would have them. I think when someone doesn't get the food he has asked for, it's because the staff, working in there, are not giving enough attention for their work. The result is many mistakes and costumers become dissatisfied. It's good to filling such a surveys, because the managment can see the errors and then correct them. At least I hope so.

I agree with you, Rick. I do hope that management takes note of the comments and concerns on customer surveys and acts on them. I know, in one case, my daughter ordered coffee and a muffin at our McDonald's and she had to send the coffee back three times until the girl made it correctly. Finally, my daughter asked to speak to a manager. She explained her frustration and received a sincere apology. She was told that the cashier was new and in training and had been doing very poorly to the point that they would probably not keep her. He also refunded the full price of my daughter's order. I thought it was very gracious of him.
