Recently I read The Secret. For those that not sure about this book, it's about Law of Attraction, like attracts like, and how our thoughts can shape our life. I believe the benefit in positive thinking, but I'm not so sure about how the signal emitted in our brain can send out to the universe and came back to us as the picture of our life. And there are many examples quoted in the book, how people manifest the things they want in their life, health, wealth and relationship. What do you think?

your question, if i got it right is about the transmission of signals, it is strictly physics, all thoughts and ideas, basically information are in form of electrical impulses in our brain, electrical signals are powerful enough to penetrate our brain, whenever there is an electric flow we find a magnetic field, this info. also forms a field of some sort(more or less like a magnetic field), and the field lines of force in our case the ideas flow, theoretically when two similar fields having a similar frequencies overlap, there we can find an increased frequencies, effect called resonance occurs, and that is why we are attracted to people who have same taste, ideas, opinions. the propagation is in a similar manner, same ideas, same frequencies, it propagates form one person to another. idea of the law of attraction as i understand is that, "Though we are physically separated, we are mentally connected", i think this is why all mom's know when their children are hungry or in trouble or just sneaking behind them.

thanks aditya for the explanation. I think the explanation about how a mother knows when their children are hungry is more because of instinct. As I was reading The Science Behind The Secret, wrote by NASA Scientist Dr. Travis S. Taylor, every single thing in this universe is resulted from the Big Bang Theory (theory of Singularity). He relates how the signal emitted in our brain tangible with other coherent signal around us, thus attracting the thing we have in mind back to ourselves. As I am strong believer of the book of Genesis and knowing the science explanation behind LOA, I have doubt in it. Sigh, and for someone to use LOA effectively, one shouldn't have any doubt.

I am using this Law of Attraction in my daily life, but not in mylotting hehe. I believe that when u have a positive outlook in life, good things follow. For all we know, all our good accomplishments begins with a single positive idea! Just for example, of you wish to buy such thing, it makes yourself work hard in order to get that amount of money to buy such thing. You will be positively driven by your thoughts.

I don't know the book called The Master Key. How is the book? I know there is also another book called The Quantum Cookbook, explaining law of attraction using quantum physics.

I don't know what is this law of attraction. Can you please explain me it in short?

law of attraction: two similar things always attract each other, when are at a particular distance. at atomic level this distance is very very small, and at human level it is entirely dependent on the similarity.

Thanks scarface for explaining on it. I know that it is very important to cut out all the negative thoughts in our mind. But I found it hard to cut the negative people too. I have a pretty negative working environment, after reading The Secret I got the feeling all those negative situation happened to me most probably contributed from my working environment. My colleagues always complaining about the top management, every day! I can't cut them from my life, but when the conversation arise with all the complains, I tend not to talk about it with them now. Or sometimes I will just get my earphone and listening to some music. I think this really helps alot, and I like my work better since then. After all, complaining and negative thoughts not going to ease anyone's day better =)

Hi Yogesh, the law of attraction state that our thought attract the things to our life. Lets say if you had the thought "I don't want this debt". The universe not focus on what you said you don't want, but instead focus on the debt you have. Means you gonna attract more debt to yourself. Or if you had the thought "I don't want to be sad', then you will attract all the sadness to your life. So, generate a positive thought, "I wanna be happy" =)

de_angel, I think most people think a lot about money but they dont get enough of it..so theory disproved in one sentence? May be there is exception to that rule, every rule has one, including this one..

Hi Vanda I agree with you there. If LOA was real every person would use it and have more than they need. However I am a firm believer in prayer and positive thinking. You can read my other comment to see why I believe that way. It seems god or the universe provides my needs.... But not necessarily my wants.

Hi vandana7, I guess many people think 'I don't get enough money', maybe that's why they don't get enough. Hehe.

Hi, de_angel97, Though I have not read the book, I heard about the Secret and the Law of Attraction. I may not able to understand how the Law of Attraction works scientifically but I believe in its philosophy. Unfortunate for me, I am more of a pessimist person and I find it hard to practice positive thinking. But in times when I truly have positive thoughts about things that I want to happen, these things really happen. Have you been doing The Secret?

Hi Zazen, I just read The Secret, never watch the movie. I think the best way to practice positive thinking is by starting with be grateful. Feeling of gratitude flush away the negative thoughts. It's not easy but yet it's not too hard. Our community tends to take things for granted, sometimes we forgot the word thank you. By being grateful, even for a very small thing, a cup of coffee, the air we breath, the opportunity that we have every day to be the sort of person we want. Sometimes we just forgot the power we have.

Thank you for the tip. I'll try to be constantly grateful even with small things so combat with my pessimism.

Yes, I know about Law of Attraction. I have learned that when I started to engage myself in business. I did undergo some seminars and they taught me about the Law of Attraction. I can say that it is very effective in doing our activities of daily living. When you think of something like for example, if you think that you want more money, then you have to attract yourself to that thought. What are those positive things that would result in having more money? Although this can result in positive or negative physical results but if you are focused enough to reach that goal, then you are going to consider to have a positive outlook and enthusiasm. Regarding about your question on how the signal emitted in our brain, the explanation is very broad. To summarize, when we think, our brain accepts it. It does not matter whether it is good or bad, positive or negative. Our brain accepts whatever we feed it. It wholeheartedly accepts what we think; whatever we play out in our mind. In short, we do attract what we think; on a conscious and subconscious level. We can manipulate our life through our mind. If we do not attract what we want to be, we will be what we are forever. Happy mylotting!

Wow, you learn this from a seminar? I never heard about this Law of Attraction until I read about the Secret. I think your explanation here is very clear. I like it. I don't know why I never realise such a simple sentence, 'our brain accepts whatever we feed it'!. Thanks happy mylotting too.

Hi De Angel First, let me say that I am NOT a LOA groupie. However I do believe we can speak and believe things into existence. I have done that many times through prayer and believing. For instance, when I am short of money and need food my bosses emails me with work they need done. I'm a freelancer so work can be regular for awhile or it can be sporadic. It never fails though, my prayers are always answered just in time. I get my NEEDS met. I don't necessarily get my wants met. I feel like the universe gives us what we need.

Thanks for sharing your opinion here. I'm a neutral in this LOA. From what you just said, I think you are practicing LOA but not calling it as LOA.

I have seen the documentary film of this book and somehow there's some truth to it. When people think of the positive things they attract the goodness in life. My gay friend was always fearful of losing his laptop. So he never left it lying around in his cubicle. Then it got stolen! Right in his cubicle and he was only gone for a few seconds. I on the other hand never feared or thought of losing mine and i always left it lying around everywhere in the office but never had anyone took interest in my laptop and it's even more expensive than his.

This is a classic example. Those who are more careful and cautious all the time, tend to lose the thing they protected. I had two housemates, one is very cautious, she always remember to hide her laptop under the seat. The only time she forgot to hide her laptop, her laptop was lying on the backseat of the car, and someone smashed the window and stole it. My another housemate not a cautious person. One day she was at the post office, and she walked out from the post office, leaving her laptop at the side of the counter. She went shopping and forgot about the laptop for hours, and when she was taking bus to head home then only she realised and ran back to the post office. Amazingly, her laptop still left untouched at side of the counter, after hours!
