How could this have happened?

Today, my colleague told me a story, which totally shocked me. The story was his own experiences in China. My colleague is a big boy from U.S.A, and already has worked in Shanghai for 4 years. One day, he got a phone call in the office from a woman, whom is his student`s mom. His part time job is to be a teacher to teach English. Maybe they met once or twice before, but my colleague can not tell her name. Because of office hour, he told her his cell phone number and told her to call him after work. Then, the inconceivable thing occured! The woman sent the msg to him that she love him. A joke? How can you tell a stranger that you love him (her)? Of course, he refused her. But the woman still has no intention to give up and continued to molest him by msg, even said her goal is to marry him. Now, my colleague is very scared that the woman may harass his real life.

that's weird.. on the first place he shouldn't have given his cellphone number to that girl. perhaps that girl has a big crush on him but is just shy to speak out in person. or maybe she's a stalker.. well to prevent something worse that might happen, better yet he should change his number so he won't get her messages or stupid pranks.

oh i'm sorry for that. we can't blame your friend then. that woman's using your friend's number for other ulterior motives. might as well he should ignore her or if she keeps on sending him sms it's better if he blocks her number.

Wow!! This is unreal, and should not be accepted. I would think the Best interest would be to file a complaint against this woman and a Stalking order. I can see why this man would be scared and he has a good reason to be. This does not sound Good at all, but I think he should have never given her his other number to prevent something like this.

That's not love , it is obsession, Tell him to go to the U.S. Embassy and see what they can do. It is so hard to know what to do. Here in The State there are restraining orders ,so the harassment is documented . But in China? just tell your friend to gain support from his friends And to keep every creepy message, it is evidence. If he can keep that phone for her and secretly give all his other friends his new phone.And tell All his friends about what is happening, the more people close to him know the better. Tell him I wish him luck.

this is the wierdest thing that can happen to anybody...what i feel is he should first inform to his own family as this will be the safest side for him and the family can also help him to get out of this...then they can talk to the lady and still the lady donot listen then they should talk to her family or can even talk to the police about the same...i dn't think the man has done something wrong by giving the number as he wanted to help...its nit the love on the part of the lady but is complete madness...she will also fall in the eyes of her family and specially in the eyes of her child...

Well that is weird thinking that a woman is harassing a guy whom she just met once or twice. I guess he should have changed his mobile number. If I was in his shoes, I will feel terrible as well knowing that someone might stalk me. It is also scary since he's not on his own country and was just a stranger to their place. I hope that won't happen to me. God bless!

I am not surprised because I know that Chinese people will do almost anything to get away from China. This students mom learned of the American teacher, and decided to peruse him as a possible husband. Once married to him she could get a Green Card and move with him back to America.

I don't know what has really happened but the solution is simple, just change the phone number or contact number, that's it. If your friend is truly annoyed by this lady stalker then it is best to report it to a police officer.
Else the easiest thing to do is to cut off that phone number so that there will be no more annoying messages. If he is being followed in school or such, then the best thing is to report it to authorities so that he will be kept safe from the stalker.

Its nothing to be scared of, she may be just taunting him, but then again its strange to think that how can a stranger without even talking too much be fall in love, it might be a prank too. hey in my case if she is pretty i would consider till how far will it go and might even arrange a meeting with her and ask her for what she sees in me and i might just pretend too, if its serious lets see where it goes.

Your friend got a stalker hahaha. Maybe she got so attracted to him when she first saw him that she mistook that for love. I think your friend should tell that woman nicely that he's not into her and no matte what she will do there's no way he will ever love her back.
If she still won't stop and continues to stalk her, I think he should tell it to other people as witnesses so that the woman won't get a chance of making up stories. Your friend is a foreigner after all and he might end up having problems in that country because of her.

That's horrible, that girl is a stupid creature. How can she be like that, so scary. Maybe she's making fun of him and nothing to do with her life. Tell your friend not to e afraid and just try to ignore her. Sooner the women will be tired of what she's doing. I hope she will. What a busted women , i don't know what's in her mine now. She's a bit crazy!

Wow, wht crazy the woman is. I'm a Chinese, yes, i cant believe that a mom loves and stalks a foreigner in China. I think the woman hasnt divorced with her hubby, so ur colleague can threaten her that he'll told her hubby and son if she calls him. I think as a Chinese woman she will feared that other people know her scandal.
