Now I heard in recent news petrol price is again increased and gas prices is also increased with 50rs so now Gas price is 400rs. per cylinder and petrol is 75rs. per liter. Really middle class people suffered from these prices and Gas is must for everybody so why Govt. increase Gas or petrol price. I want to say why Govt increase the price of that goods that day to day needs. Share your views in your country also increase the prices of Gas and petrol or remains constant. In our country when every govt comes on the post they increase the prices. Now many agriculturist dying due to this high reach prices.

Hello Dear Surekha Rathi, I agree with you that a common man in India is really finding it difficult with the continuous raise of cooking gas , Diesel and Petrol. These things are vital in the life of a common man as most of the Urban Indians are depending on cooking gas for the purpose of cooking, Diesel apart from an important fuel for irrigation purpose in many parts of India , it is mainly used for transportation purpose. Thus increasing the price of this product naturally has an impact on all the commodities in the market. We are witnessing a lot of inflation in the market because of this price raise. Similarly petrol is also an important commodity for a common man as we have a lot of automobiles running on thus fuel which are acting as very important source of transportation for many people in the country. But the fact is , India is importing the petroleum products from other countries like from the countries from middle east and supplying these products after refining them to Indians at the subsidised prices, which means the Government is giving these products at much cheaper rate than at what it has procured to the people and bearing the losses. With the continuous raise of the Petroleum products in the international market, the Government of India is also becoming helpless. With the increased burden of subsidy the Government is facing severe deficit in the Budget and in order to reduce the losses the Government has taken a decision to remove the subsidy, which means there will be no more concession from the side of the Government to the common man now. So the Government is gradually increasing the prices of these product and will make these products available at no loss no profit basis and hopefully once they reach this feat, they will open the sale of Cooking gas as a non rationed product like Petrol and Diesel and we can get them at many private outlets freely , but at an increased prices. One more factor what I think is responsible for increased prices of these products is pilferage or smuggling of the Petroleum from the Dock Yards. I have seen on TV that there are many mafia gangs operating and they are smuggling or stealing the imported petroleum products thus making a big hole in Government's pocket for the vested interests. Naturally these losses are to be born by common man like you and me! Thus I feel these are the factors responsible for raise in the petroleum products in the Indian market and Government has to be alert in stopping the Criminals or Mafias which have become too reckless that they have killed one of the higher Official who tried to oppose them from doing such criminal activity! I hope things will change as today's generation has realised the bad effects of corruption and other things which are acting as hampering factors against the progress of the Country and soon they will all unite to raise their voice against such crime and help to build a healthy and peaceful India! Let us all hope for the best! Thanks for the discussion, I really liked participating in it!

Dear Surekha, Thanks for selecting my response as the best one! Role of diesel plays a major impact on transportation and this is reflected on our day today used commodities. Though we feel that milk is produced locally how this product be influenced because of the hike in diesel price? But if we carefully analyse, the feed and the fodder required for the cattle which are giving milk locally are also needed to be transported. The milk supplied by Milk Societies or milk Companies are also collected in refrigerated Tankers which again requires a lot of diesel. Thus the Diesel it plays a major rile in deciding the cost of common commodities! I fully agree with you that corruption at every level in our lives is making our lives very miserable and as a result of it the rich are becoming Richer and the poor ones are becoming more poorer! It is better not to talk any thing about the corrupt politicians who keep on changing their colors like Chameleon according to the season! Well , at this juncture all we can do is sensibly caste our vote without any biased attitude to select a sensible and loyal leader who can really serve the people and the country! I am sure a day will come and we will again be known as 'Golden Sparrow' (Sone Ki Chidiya)! All the best!

Hello AK Rao, that is a nice and detailed analysis, but there are other ways to cover that deficit. First and foremost, I truly dont see why salaries of government employees should be increased so rapidly. The disparity between minimum sustenance level and the salary of the lowest level government employee is simply too much!!!

I believe oil and gas prices are high everywhere and it does affect the price of everything, just about. Our farmers (agriculturists) suffer because it is more expensive to run their machinery to plant and grow crops. It is not the government's fault, at least not entirely, but they do need to see what measures will be helpful.

Yes, indeed the price of oil and gas had gone high recently in my area, too. Because of that, the prices of consumer products including the price of vegetables and fruits had gone-up, too. It won't affect the rich much but for poorer family, it will affect them the most.

Hi! That's also a problem here in our country. Gas prices are continuously going up. They roll down the prices sometimes but the next time they increase the price, it's double the price they rolled down so the roll down is still useless. Our agriculture industry is also suffering from this but the major sector affected is the drivers since they use gas everyday. And as a reaction, the commuters are also affected because the drivers can't do anything but increase the fare. When there is a fare hike, the commuters are affected. It's really a sad situation especially because the wages of the commuters are seldom increased.

Ohh in your country the people is also facing the same problem. Really due to this increasing price so many people are suffered but Govt. not taking any action. They again and again announced only increase the price of day to day commodities. Thanks for response friend.

The price rises reflect the fact that fossil fuels are a limited commodity and we're using too much. Hence, there's a shortfall and where demand outstrips supply, prices increase. It's pretty simple, really. I got rid of our car years ago: it was a waste of money when I can walk for half an hour and get to most places I need. Long journey? Just hire a car for the day: the saving (for me and the environment) is huge. Of course, I don't live way out in the country, where this would be difficult.

Ever heard spare the rod, and spoil the child? That is what has happened to us. Frankly we simply cant afford petrol at the realistic costs. So subsidized petrol is given. But I dont think petrol should be subsidized. Diesel yes. Petrol no, and no subsidy to LPG and Kerosene as well. People should be forced to using things responsibly because such natural resources will not last forever.

Yes Dear Vandana,You are right! Since last two decades there has been a tremendous rise in the automobiles. Today we can see motor Cycles and Cars like bees and mosquitoes on the streets in the Urban India. In rural part also there has been a good rise in these automobiles. Because of the easy loans provided by private banks and other financing agencies people are getting tempted to procure the Vehicle of their own. Thus the demand of the petrol has got very high. Today you can see many Cars on road with a single person travelling in it! This has become a fashion now a days. In my opinion sharing the vehicles can be the alternative solution which not only can save petrol of the nation and can help in checking the prices but also will help in checking the environmental pollution. Yes so increase in the petrol may put some reigns on such irresponsible people. Similarly Cooking gas being black marketed in many places and a common man already is ready to pay the hiked price as the depot owners are supplying the cylinders to many Industries and Hotels/restaurants , where they are supposed to use Gas without any subsidy. This practice will also be stopped if the cooking gas's subsidy is removed and it's cost is made at par with industrial gas which is presently available at higher cost. I fully agree with your statement that people should behave sensibly and responsibly as these natural sources are not going to last for ever and things will be too difficult in future if some remedial measures are not taken right from this moment! Thanks !

Hi Surekha! We are having the same problem here. Not just gas and petrol but electricity bills, beverages and many more. We can't blame the government hundreds percents. Sometimes even the government itself could not prevent this from happening. Government here have already tried to do many things but by hook or by crook they still need to increased the price. They have given us more than enough subsidy and if they stay with a normal price that is mean the subsidy will get increased as well as debts incurred by the country. That is what happen in my country. So to overcome this problem the government had planned to make some changes to streamline the salary earned by the citizens so that they get proper salary which at least help a bit of the lives of the people in the face of economic uncertainty. We can not help it because it doesn't not only increase prices in certain countries but the same problem also faced by all countries around the world, the importing countries and exporting countries as well. People need to know why it happened and take steps like prudent in using resources, not wasteful spending and spending according to needs.(^^)

The price hike of petrol and gas in fact will bring more profit to agriculturists as the agricultural products prices are depended on the transportation cost, i.e. more the transportation cost more price for agricultural produces. Actually government is selling the petrol and other fuels at subsidized rate, incurring heavy loss to fulfill the basic necessity of the general public.

No friend not more profit to agriculturists they also bear the loss like general public. More difficulties is faced by agriculturists because due to more rain all crops is lost. They cannot manage their family because price is increasing day by day of each commodities. Thanks to sharing your views.

Nowadays, i need to really make a high budget, to only buy things that i really needed only. I can't buy too much things per shopping, or else i will see myself spending more than a hundred, for each shopping. The price of vegetables and fruits are getting more expensive nowadays, that we need to budget what we want to eat everyday. I see myself need to spend more into buying food now as compared to a few years ago. The price of oil and gas which had gone high really affects our spending.

Because the cost of fuel has gone up in the world. Your government is paying a very high price for fuel in the world market. Further, your government doesn't have buckets of money laying around. So when they pay a higher price, you have to pay a higher price.

Hello Surkha, it is not only news, it fact that prices of gas, petrol and kerosine oil increased and now these are available on new rates. In India if a person have more than 2 laks earning P.A. than he is middle class. Think about person who are lower class. Today every one is using gas. A person who have 5 to 6 thousand earning PM, how he manage this price increase. Govt. will announce some more DA to employees but other person have not any scope of increasing their income now. This govt. is a dictator.

I don'r know anyone who can afford gas anymore. It's totally ridiculous. The only ones benefitting from this is the oil companies. And they don't care. There is no need for the high prices.

Thanks to a lot my friend yes you are right no need to increase the Gas price. Because general public is suffered from this high price. Without Gas Cylinder no one can prepare food. This is our important requirement.

Unfortunately gas prices increase quite often in my country, which leads to the increase of prices for many products, and that will happen again at the beginning of July,so things are really dramatic for many people who live in poverty, and I think the situation will be even worse because of the major crisis which affects Greece and which has negative consequences on the economy of all European countries. One thing is clear:we're going through really hard times and things don't seem to get much better very soon.

gas and petrol price affects may countries all over the world,I'm from the Philppines and the gas price affects everything. It seems like our government is not really in control in terms of its price regulation but rather the big oil companies do. It affects millions of people. I for example suffers from it. The value of money depriates as the price of gas increase because it creates a certain domini effect. As farmers grow plants, let's say the price of seeds, fertilizers, its production increase. When it is time to sell the goods, transportation cost increases. Therefore, when it is made available for consumers, you will expect the price is higher. So everytime i go to the grocery or to other stores, i bring lesser compare before. When the gas price is high, the PUV drivers ask for an increase in fare for them also to support their family. There is always increase to almost everything except for salary.

Dear friend, Definitely there is no doubt that the middle class people are effected. Moreover the tax that government get through this is too high. I wonder why they could reduce fuel tax and put it in those luxury goods. Moreover if the price of fuels are increased it affects all other day to day consuming goods too. Other wise why cannot they use other alternative powers with wind, water, solar or any other cheap powers. I feel this is just a money making part for those upper side.

It wasn't that severe in the United States though. As last week, President Obama released 30 million barrels of crude oil to the market, so for this summer, the price won't be that expensive for us to experience. Although we need to budget on our spending, but it won't be that severe at all though. As matter of fact, the gasoline price is on drop every day here.

I guess this is a worldwide problem except those who have alternative ways to beat this predicament, or maybe because gas producing countries had been limiting their production because of the depletion of their gas reserves.Limited supplies and more on demand cause their prices increase. In our country it happens 2 times a month and the government can do nothing about it because the prices are based on world market. Our government are doing something though by exploring other avenues that could help lessen the impact of the increase. Have a nice day my friend.

What is more,It will cause chain reaction, for example, chemical products that are closely related to our daily life may raise in price one by one.The cost of living will escalate in the final analysis.
