There's no simple way to earn quickly. Unfortunately, most of the jobs that pay reasonably well need some reputation/feedback before the employer will hire you. That said, once you've put down some foundation work, you should be able to earn reasonably well. If you're targetting writing and editing, your best bets for quicker income (i.e. not revenue share which earns more by increasing the quantity of work) are the bid sites and job lists. Elance, Guru, oDesk and Freelancer all have lots of writing/editing work (though it may take a month to get the first job because you won't have feedback until you've done a short job well). Job lists are posted daily at Deb Ng's freelancewritinggigs.com. Anne Wayman posts jobs three times a week at aboutfreelancewriting.com. There are plenty of others but those two ladies are really helpful. Chris G.'s freelanceswitch.com also posts jobs.
