How many times do you

eat in one day? For me I am not sure how many times since I am working during night time and sleep most of the day. I eat a lot at night but not the heavy ones. I consume 3 glasses of milk (at times, 1 cup of coffee) while working or even one liter at times. I seldom eat a complete meal like rice with viand. I mostly eat oatmeal, bread, mashed or fried potatoes as well as chips at night. After my work, I don't even feel like hungry at all so I skip breakfast and I prefer to sleep immediately after my shift. Sometimes, I wake up in the middle of the day (which is my night time) to eat heavy lunch and back to bed again. I am not sure if I have a healthy and proper way of eating but sometimes I don't care anymore as long as I eat whenever I want. During Saturdays and Sundays, I at least eat twice a day, breakfast and dinner. For some people that I know, they eat 5 to 7 times a day, 3 heavy meals and light snacks in between. I guess that's better.

I eat two "larger" meals a day, and one "smaller". The "smaller" is generally lunch, because I am too busy looking after my children and feeding them, running around after them to have anything major. It sounds lke you have a really wacky pattern! but hey if your in good shape, then who cares:) I just eat when I can, but I always eat at dinner time!!

Well it's really hard to eat while feeding kids around but it's good you still can manage to eat at least 2 large meals while there are some mom who hardly have time to eat and enjoy their food because of their kids. It's like "eat and run system" for them at times.

Normally I take breakfast early in the morning, then lunch at noon and at night a light meal. If you have to work nights, naturally diet changes. I would prefer to eat more fruit and less fried potatoes or chips. I think, it would be good if you consult a nutritionist, in order to explain him that you are working nights. The doctor can give you the right diet to take care of your health. Have a nice time!

Yes, I must lessen chips and fried potatoes and take fruits and veggies instead but consulting a nutritionist is not my option as of the moment. I'm actually scared of doctors that's why.. lol

Well, I think it's better for you to increase the consume of fruits and vegetables. Cereals and nuts are good too. Do you are working nights but home? If so, then is easier for you to have your own diet. I hope you find the right one for you.

I eat about 3 meals a day but they are not really full meals. I like to snack on things all day long especially during the morning hours when I am at home before I go to work. I just eat whatever I can find in the kitchen. When I am at work I try to eat right but that does not happen all the time. The only time I really eat good is when I am home at night and eat dinner with the family.

yes, sometimes our work affects the way we eat. Like skipping breakfast because we need to be early for work and even for students who needs to be early for their class. I am sure that dinner is the best time for you to eat since you are with your family. :)

I am the same way! I eat 3 meals a day but I also snack often. I find it harder to eat right now that I am married! My hubby would live on Pizza if I let him...

Usually I eat quite frequently since I am constantly running errands. I don't know how many times I would eat in one day, but I would say on average 6-8 times, but their mostly meals with actual food, not just snacking. I didn't know one could go through so much food in a day, but it is possible as I have learned. Recently I did run into a small problem. I had lost my job, and had no income, but the effort ot find a new job and take care of other business such as school meant the level of activity did not go down one bit. However, stretching food out as far as possible since I don't have a clue as to when I will have money again does cause problems going from being able to properly fuel the body to being sick because one can't eat. I have ran into several stomach problems lately because I couldn't eat and had to wait. Lately, it has been once every two days (I know this is not safe), and it has gotten to the point where food no longer taste like food, and I cannot hold it down. I have my family to help me, but I do hope that something is going to give so that I get my health back in order.

Just an update, I just found out that I am getting food assistance until I can get myself back together. It isn't much $200 a month, but it is better than nothing. To a normal person, this is a lot, but I am a horse, and for me $200 doesn't make it two weeks. You know you are a monster, when you spend more on food than living expenses. But it was all food, hardly any junk. I eat like a horse because I am a big boy, and packed on a lot of muscle, and go through food like nothing. It is a small temporary adjustment until something comes through. I never realized how much food I was going through until I was buying it. Right now, I probably don't have to worry about bankrupting myself because I have gotten smaller (not in a healthy way), so once I get some of my energy back and hit the weights again, I will be back to my normal animal self. My family won't be able to handle the musclebound horse living with them.

so sad this is happening to you. I just can't imagine life without food or less food. i wish someone might help you out while you are still waiting for your own money so you will not suffer too much because of not eating properly. Our body needs to have enough energy for us to do our daily activities, so better get things straight for you to be able to provide enough for your health.

I always eat 3 times every day. I have breakfast with tea and cookies, often it's a fast meal cause I must go to work. For lunch I take my time, I usually try to eat 2 dishes: pasta or rice as first and meat with vegetables as second dish. In the evening I take my dinner. The dinner it's often a copy of lunch. Sometimes in the end of the meal or in the afternoon I eat some fruits.

wow, I guess you have better way of eating than mine except for the two dishes during lunch. And eating fruits, damn I always prefer chips than fruits but I love eating them when I'm with my mom.

Hmm. Just 1 to 3 times a day. I also work from home, but I've recently changed lifestyles to go back to sleeping at night. I feel more rested and healthy that way. I try to eat 3 meals a day; but one of those meals is usually just coffee and oatmeal or coffee and bread. I sometimes eat another snack of coffee and bread in the afternoon, but that's about it. I eat red rice too, and it's pretty filling and keeps you from wanting to eat and eat and eat. :) I guess that's why I'm thinning down lately. Heheh.

Humm that's a quite hectic schedule of eating, and you are quite strong to cause lot of people dont manage to maintain such type of night meals, When having opposite meals even our metabolism schedule changes. So i guess it must be very difficult for you to adopt the change on holidays, cause once a habbit is made of working at night having the opposite in holidays that is our normal routine become very difficult iam sure you must having difficulties on holidays. Well talking about eating, i eat a lot during the day time, I probably have lots of snacks i go for classes in the morning come back in afternoon then i have my lunch then i sleep and have my tea then i go to play then when i come back i have snacks and then directly for dinner, that's how my schedule of eating is planned during the day and evening time.

hi, it is breakfast , lunch and some snacks and dinner. Some observe these on time.As many leave breakfast and snacks and do the rest.It depends on how people do manage their meals per day.How well theirs digestion and eating capacities ,this reflects on the eating habits.

I eat around 5 times a day. I started the morning with a small breakfast (usually just a yogurt), eat a snack (chocolate usually), lunch, another snack and, to finish, a good dinner (that's the time when I eat more). I try to eat healthy, but when I have a lot of tests on the week, I just don't care too and eat whenever and whatever I want. I think it's pretty hard to keep regular meals with your schedule, just curious, what's your job?
• Philippines

yes, you're absolutely right. Keeping regular meals is really difficult especially when no ones around to help you prepare it. Well, I am working online (home based) for a great company in the US as a technical support.

I guess yours is healthier than mine since you eat three complete meals and even plan your meals. My mom always tell me to eat breakfast since it is the most important meal for the day but I always fail since I already feel very sleepy around 6 in the morning and have no time to prepare my breakfast.

To me, i like to eat fast foods, and i can eat 6-7 times a day. I know for my health not to eat fast foods so much, so i used to consume light foods at evening and night. I also drink tea at least 4 times a day so to make me every time energetic, besides i also drink coffee at night when i used to study at night. Every night i have a light dinner and when i skip study, i consume 2 glasses of milk..I also take care of my health and also have a descent sleep at noon and night.

I used to eat 3 meals and 2 snacks a day but now that I want to lose weight I reduce to eating 2 meals and sometimes 1 meal day, with some snacks. It vary sometimes according to the weather. If it's hot I drink more cold liquids and consume more food when it's rainy and cold.I don't why but I tend to be hungry when it's cold.Maybe our body needs extra calories, because of increase metabolism. It makes me feel guilty of breaking my diet plan, but I need it.I think it's fine even if we're not completing the 3 meal per day,as long we're eating healthy food. It's the quality that matters, not the quantity.

For the portion of your food in a day is replacing rice as a staple food. Excessive eating was not good for health. If I was more or less in a single day I spent 3 plates of rice with side dishes and some snacks.
