Genetic Sequencing is the new age of medical analysis that will soon be able to tell alot of people about their health. It will one day in specific detail tell one about the health concerns they don't know about themselves. How far can they take though? What about liar gene or the cheater gene maybe the sociopath gene the drunken gene the jerk gene the lazy gene the dumb gene the i'm a good person i just make bad decisions gene the i'm so into myself gene the pervert gene the psychopath gene the too smart for your own good gene the too honest gene the crazy gene the you get mad too easily gene the i let people walk all over me gene the tyrant gene the good poker face gene the republican gene the democrat gene the giving gene the funny gene the happy gene the easy to understand gene the complaining gene the you talk too much gene, lol Seriously though Genome Sequencing is truly a Medical Milestone and is going to be a big part of the future of healthcare.

It's crazy to think i don't think it will ever go as far as that because it costs money to research these things. I am all for it helping in health issues but i don't like that they can change so much before life has even beginning. I hopr it is not used to determin sexing and appearance but im sure in time it will be, i guess having a designer race wouldn't be so bad. I would like them to add extra smarts into everyday when they are born and also cure autism and cancer genes.

this topic is more about prevention in finding out what one may not know about themselves. the idea of having a designer race gives me an uncomfortable feeling.

Oh sorry i must have misunderstood. I guess it would be good to know your genes if they are the ones you were always intended to have. I just don't like the idea of designer babies and regular babies being outcast... Sorry to post the wrong comment.

Might as well laugh at it because it is a joke! In case you hadn't noticed, we are all different! For each gene identified there will be a few million more "don't knows". And if they ever start using this information in a real medical environment, we will see a lot of "Oops" moments followed by lawsuits. Scientists pretend to understand nuclear energy, yet they have to invent a new word after every accident. Latest is "melt-through". Genetics is exactly the same. We are just waiting for an unforeseen accident to occur.

you forgot the laughing gene, loving gene, care for others gene, artist gene, music gene and other positive genes, for evey negative gene there will be a positive one to balance it, that's a baisc law of nature.
