I Have Been Shopping Way Too Much!

And I'm really unrepentant of it. Lol I have been on Amazon.com getting books. I love books. They get me through tough times. Self help are my favorites. Now I am waiting to get to Walmart because the lady there told me after July Fourth all the outdoor furniture goes on sale as they clear out for Fall. This is my cheater's method to furnishing my new apartment. I already bought an outdoor bistro table and two chairs for 48 dollars to use in my kitchen. And it is so cute in there. So, now I'm going to be on the lookout for an outdoor loveseat as a temporary couch to use in my living room. When I save up a little more I will end up getting a sleeper sofa to put in there, but the outdoor loveseat will still be useful and cute. What have you been purchasing lately? What is your favorite thing to shop for. And do you ever buy something to use for other than it's intended use to safe money?

I do not shop often but if I did, I'll buying my cloths and some books. I would like to change my dressing style often to make myself more confident; tried on the t-shirt, jeans, shoes and some accessory. Life of a teenage. LOL

I am almost 30 and that's how I dress.! Lol Converse shoes, jeans, a band tee and a funky bracelet if I'm going out. I keep trying to dress up more, but I just feel more comfortable in the old standbys. I have a teenage sister and a 20 year old sister that care about fashion much more than I. However when I see them I end up laughing and telling them to take lots of pictures, because in 20 years they will be horrified to see what they used to wear. There is a huge difference between dressing in style and dressing in trend. And these girls dress in trend.

I can't really wear that stile myself at the moment because I'm very overweight. I am working out more right now, but it is a long slow process.

Can you try a classic dress? The Audrey Hepburn/ Kate Middleton style is always good and you can dress it up with a fun scarf or pin. :-) Sometimes you can get lucky and find one at Goodwill or Marshalls. Just go for linen or cotton as they always look good--not polyester as polyester doesn't really let your skin breathe.

Well at least your spending your money on stuff that is educational to a certain extent. If you're absorbing all that information you find in books then perhaps you should see if there's a course nearby that will go to even further detail? If you're the type who finds books good to get through tough times then perhaps academics would too, at least consider it. But yeah I've bought stuff, like WoW game time.

Thank you for your suggestion. I am a college student currently and I do find it very helpful. Though I am experiencing a little bit of burn out. I hope I can keep on trucking till I get to the end result.

Very smart! I furnished my first apartment pretty much that way, waiting for things to go on sale and making do with other things until then. My first "couch" was a rollaway bed until I could afford a real one. The only thing I've been buying lately has been boxes... lots of boxes. I'm getting ready to move out of our house without my husband. He finally plucked my last nerve so now is the time. I've been packing, taking my time so the move will go smoothly. The coolest thing about this is that the boxes I've been buying are 100% recycled materials! I love it. Who knows, they may be made from the boxes I took to the recycling center when we moved here only four years ago.

I mostly read girlie books right now. It's a nice contrast to the heavy reading texts that I've been reading lately. I don't know how you feel about Christian novels. I don't follow that faith myself, but there is this author "Frank Peretti' and I'm telling you his work is genius! Whether or not you are for or against the idea of evolution... of demons in everyday life... or whatever. His books really make you feel like you are there and I usually end up reading a whole book of his in one sitting, though they are thick enough they should probably last a week. Whenever anyone asks me what I recommend I go to his books. Another series I recommend, it is kind of embarrassing to admit because they are kids books. And they are meant for 2nd grade reading level. But, they are so funny! "Hank The Cowdog" it's a series of books about a farm mutt that takes his job a little too seriously and thinks of himself as 'head of ranch security.' I often find myself quoting old Hank. "When sliding down the banister of life, be careful you don't get a splinter in your career." Lol

I have been getting a lot of self help books lately. Books on frugal living with style, books on how to deal if you want to get married but your man doesn't. Lol I'm thinking about picking up some Romance novels soon to get me through the winter.
