The Magic Bullet, the workout videos, the amazing new vacuum that is going to make our lives easier... There is always one infomercial that catches my attention and then I am hooked and end up watching the whole thing, while I am folding clothes or picking up toys for the 20th time.......and of course in between the kids dvds that they watch all day it seems like these are the only chance I get to watch on tv anymore. I was recently surprised by my Mother in Law, we have watched this one infomercial for over a year and she ended up getting us both a Magic Bullet blender/mixer/chopper.... I have used it but it doesnt work exactly like it does on tv but I can see where I can use it more and make things a little faster for myself. Have you ever purchased anything off an infomercial and what did you think of the product?

I have the magic slicer didn't get it from an infomercial, but a trade fair, it was a few years back, we all tried it we all cut ourselves, ever since then I don't get as tempted. My Mum has a theory, if it works really well and if it does what it says, sooner or later it will be mass produced by a company and it will be available everywhere. A good example is the super mop, it is pulled up and twisted to wring out water, it is available at most of my local stores and I got one, well I don't know if I used too much force but it broke after a few weeks. I know that people are trying to publicise their patents and their products, but in my opinion, some of the products don't justify the prices they charge and they rarely work exactly as they do on television.

Unfortunately there are alot of items out there that are suppose to make our life easier but in the long run they dont. I agree with your mum, if it is that great and works it would be available everywhere... we have stores now that have "as seen on tv" sections so you can purchase some of the things in store but I am not usually interested in many of those things. LOL thanks for the response and have a great night!! Happy Mylotting.

Yep, that is where my mother in law got it, Walmart. LOL I feel the same way, I wouldnt buy anything off the infomercial but if it looked interesting enough to try and was available in store then I might be tempted. we have bought exercise dvds and we use them... but those usually are only available online never in stores. thanks for the response and have a great night!! Happy Mylotting.

Only a few times, and it was a few times too many! The creators of these infomercials are well versed in what viewers are in need of. So, they create a vid that addresses the problem, and then they show how there product will supposedly fix that problem. The best way not to get caught up in the hype ... is by not watching any infomercial. Or if you or someone you know or someone that is reading this post, is considering purchasing something that they have seen on the telly, check with friends that may have that item. Or search the internet, which I'm sure you already know, but there is always tons of information on the net about everything.

oh I know, and I have looked it up....the magic bullet got pretty good reviews but there were a few that stated the same, it works but not like on the commercial. I have used it everyday for things I would have used in the blender but didnt do often because I hated the clean up.... now I can have the same and its less mess and much easier clean up. I dont usually get hooked on infomercials but when I do its one that I will watch for a year and then wait to see it at a local store to pick it up. LOL thanks for the response and have a great night!! Happy Mylotting.

I never watch them since I have never found them to be of any interest at all. Even if by some off chance I should have catch my attention, I doubt if I would ever buy anything seen on one.

I have never bought anything from an infomercial....or even the shopping channel. The name: Magic Bullet reminds me of something else. My husband went to a friend's party with a bunch of other couples and things were being demonstrated]and then sold....among other things was the Magic Bullet. lol

Ohhhh, sounds interesting. LOL I havent bought anything off of an infomercial either... my mother in law got these from Walmart so at least she didnt have to pay shipping and still got it for cheaper too so that was good. I do use it, granted it doesnt work like it does in the commercial but I am happy with it otherwise. thanks for the response and have a great night!! Happy Mylotting.

I think it's because everything works perfectly on them and everyone is amazed at how well it performs. They are kind of funny too. I bought a generic magic bullet after seeing the commercial and I am pleased with it since I paid about a fourth of the price for it. lol.

I would love to watch the infomercials for a single times but for second time, I feel it boring and I don't watch them, that is why I change the channel at once. I have no interest in buying those things because everything I need is available in my city market. I think watching those products is a waste of time for me. One can watch them if they want some marketing skills from them. Learn the body language and gestures.
