Earlier I posted trying to help someone get some ideas for a good laptop for music production. One person responded to my comment by saying he saw a lot of bias. I dont dispute that comment but I stated in the posting that it was my opinion. However this posting made me wonder, Maybe ya'll would like to let us know what is your personal preference for a laptop and do you have a specific reason for that choice? My personal preference is Toshiba. I don't know that I really have a legitimate reason that is, but it is a brand that has never quit on me or gone bad. I find the tech support to be helpful and friendly if it is ever needed. But beyond that is is just I like the way they are set up in general I am more comfortable with it then any other laptop. How about any of you?

Lately I buy Acer Aspire One 10".Acer is one of best now and almost all of my friend on office use Acer. Before that moment I confuse to choose what kind of laptop I need, but actually I buy one of the best. It's originally Win.7, have a good sound, simple tiny, support Android OS and many more.Toshiba is great laptop, it's very know since it's branded product and good quality.I ever decide to buy Toshiba, but it's high price with same fitures of other laptop

I will agree. Acer has definitely improved by leaps and bounds over the past five years or so. I had one about 7 years ago but the screen went out in like4 months so that really soured me on them. I have seen improvements in the product though. Im glad you enjoy your purchase. That is definitely high on the importance list

Lenovo is actually one of the best brands out there, but I think it is way too powerful for what I use my laptop for. I will say that it is above toshiba in processing power honestly but the Toshiba being known because of branding I dont agree with. Most people don't even know that Toshiba makes laptops, especially in the U.S. although they are becoming more regularly available there.

hello ReverendShaggy, my personal brand for laptop is HP. i love their designs and operating system. I'm really not good with the technical stuff so I really cannot compare it with other brands. i also haven't tried other brands before, too. for me, as long as it's functional it's ok. now for those who are more concern on the technical side or performance of laptops, it's better to check the specs online. you can always search on the new about the product, its efficiency and performance. best of luck to your laptop.

Thank you for your response. I can understand your reasoning and it makes sense. If you don't search for specific specs. and look just for your needs everyday that is a good way to search as well. Im glad you enjoy your laptop

hi i thk it depends on the country u live in. where i stay ... Toshiba is a bad choice. my brother bought one and was really disappointed with it. i think the better option shud be dell .. dell computers are more reliable ... they may be out of budget a little but hey r worth every penny. and regarding ther customer care they hav some gud tech control centers. i thk dell shud be a better option... especially dell xps tc keep lotg

Your right. It does depend. For example while I was in South Korea I was very impressed with the Samsung laptops but when I look at them in the states I was like wow that is worse than what I want and more expensive. So Country is definitely a factor. I am not sure doesnt India have one of the Major Dell production areas?

nowadays every company has produced almost all kinds of computer. if you don't have to do special work with your computer, i think you can find what you need in every company. and it is up to you to choose which band to buy. and as you want to choose one to enjoy music, i suggest you to make a research about which company do best on the equipment of sound.
