Sixteen Pound Baby Born In Texas

A woman in Texas has given birth to a baby boy, who may be the largest ever born in the state. Last Friday Janet Johnson gave birth to her fourth child, a 16-pound (7.257kg) baby boy - that is twice the weight of an average healthy newborn. The baby was two-foot long, has a 17-inch chest and a full head of hair. doctors had warned her the baby might be large - perhaps 12 to 13 lbs, they had said. Nobody expected a 16-pound baby.

Gotta love the instant reaction: "We may finally have a star football player in the family" (italics mine).
No pressure there. Nope. That's one dad who's not going to push his son into being things he might not want to be. Surely not. No way.

Ohhh you are happy because one foofball player is came in our world. But really this is dangerous for baby's life because more weight is not good. God bless him from me and all mylotter. thanks for sharing your view.

I was being sarcastic. Personally, I hope he doesn't have any health problems or anything and grows up happy and healthy. I just think his father's reaction is appalling. He's basically saying: "My dreams of having a sports star in the family have come true" and he's likely to push the poor kid into being an over-achieving, stressed-out little boy.

I can not even imagine giving birth to duch a huge baby. the labor must have been atrocious. i am sure the mother is glad that the baby is here and i hope all the best for mother and child.

The baby was delivered by Caesarean section, so labour may not have been so bad after all. I guess that CS would have been planned, since the scans must have shown how large the baby was.

She developed pregnancy diabetes which was what caused the baby to be so large.

Yes friend you are right how she can bear the pain because a boby born is not easy work and huge baby means more pain. But which food she eat so she born world largest baby. 7 kg is not easy.

That weight is pretty scary to me, the baby is just overweight. Maybe the mother ate a lot of sweet food that is why the baby was born big. Hopefully the baby doesn't have any abnormal conditions because of his overweight body. And I hope the mother was fine after delivering a very big baby...I bet the baby is so cute because he is big...

No friend mother is not eat lots of sweets DR. telling she is Diabatic patient so baby born healthy but she created world record. Yes baby is really cute therefore I am uploading his photo. Now mother is also good. thanks for response.

Yes the child is heaviest and largest. Friend the child is very lucky because after born his photo in the top yahoo news. Evreywhere in News paper and TV channel News. So he is popular in a small age and in big age he will more popular God bless him. thanks for sharing your view.

I have not read this report. Thanks for informing. US has the reputation of creating records. two years back a lady delivered eight babies. there was a news report recently that she is finding it difficult to manage her living with her 14 children.(she had six earlier). Let us wish the baby and mother good health.

Ohhhhhhh not 8 babies at a time but all is safe or not and total 14 children really God's lila no one can understand. Someone has lot of children and someone has no single children. Tell her transfer one child for me. Thanks for sharing your news also.

I wish you get a child by January 2013. If you believe -- Please take a Rs.10 note and put it inside a white cover and close it. Write on top of it "Sri Garbharakshambigai temple" and pray that you may visit this temple after child birth. this place is near Kumbakonam (Tanjore District).

Mom had gestational diabetes which leaves one prone to having super sized babies.
I've got to admit though, that 'little' guy gave me quite a pause. He looks big enough to waltz right out of that hospital.

Oh my! Every pregnant lady wonders what the birth weight of her baby will be. My oldest son I thought was large and heavy at 9 lb and 4ozs. My disabled son was less at 7lbs and 11ozs. My daughter was slightly more at 8 lb exactly. Janet Johnson's baby son was more like a three month old baby. I imagine that baby boy will put on much weight every week. I hope that the boy has a bright future.

Friend I saw this news in yahoo when I was teaching net classes in my Institutes to the children. Suddenly my mind's light is open and start the discussion here and I am lucky because I am the first person to start this discussion. I was shocked when see the picture ohhh no how healthy and huge baby. Really his mother is lucky because both are good child and mother. thanks for sharing your view.

Wow I had not heard this before, I stumbled on your discussion and the article you posted. I have been really sick lately and in bed a lot and was not reading and or hearing the news lately.
That is amazing to have such a big child. Wow, both of mine were over 8 pounds and they were very long length children. So I can't imagine one that big. Although my ex-sister-in-law had 3 and all were 12 pounds and they are very tall even the girl almost 6 feet tall.
Thanks for sharing this, as I find it to be pretty amazing.

Thanks a lot my friend for response on my discussion. But that article was not mine. I have seen this news in yahoo. So I am sharing this news for all mylotter because this is new for everyone 16 pounds is much more. But the child health is good no problem and God bless him for his future life.
Wow your child born was 8 pounds but you are not sending your child photo or family photo on my email this is not fair. I send a mail.
