I love receiving tons of emails from mylot. To tell you honestly I have 6167 unread message as of this moment. Since my DSL is cut off. I have limited time to spare for mylotting and responding to my emails. What will be your best strategy to read all your message if you only have at least 2-3 hours to spare?

syoto: Now at this rate you must be having 10K+. I classify all mylot mails to a separate folder. Then I go by selecting discussions based on friends list , activiity wise like that and respond. Even then it takes minimum 4 hours per day to complete with only 300+ friends on my list.

Well, do not put up new post. Answer all the emails first then put your own because the moment you post, there will be answer which you will have to answer and that will take a lot of time to do it. The next thing is to remove some of your friends who do not socialise with for so long. In this way, you will not recieve their post. Also remove those who never answer your post but want you to answer theirs, this kind of people just use you to make the admin think that they put the best post and many people answer the post. Get rid of them and then you will few and quality posts to really concentrate and learn something from those.

Wow. That is alot of them to go through. I open up more than one at a time so they will be loaded and all I have to do is read through them and respond and send. Hope you get more internet time soon.

Hello! If by messages you mean the messages you get at your e-mail inbox, then I don't read them for a long time. In fact, because the e-mail I used to have is now old and I hardly ever check it. I mean, I get on it once every other month, and I don't read what is in it, I just delete everything. Now, here in myLot I don't believe I get messages. At least, there are no messages received in these last days. I wish you luck! It is going to take you a while to go through all those 6167 messages. But I'm really sure you can do it! Respectfully, Munhozmib.

I think its won't be a problem if he or she using gmail, today email come with big storage. But seeing that's much email (4000 something)need to response or reads, its will be give you stress. I am checking my email in daily basis, so I usually just deleted email from mylot who older than a 3 day, to prevent it to much to handle.

I check them 2-3 daily. If it's from Mylots, I read it and/or respond to it. If they are from people I don't know, I delete those. I really get tired of all the promos, affilitate marketing offers and instant messages. I really find instant messages interesting. They always send a message stating, you are receiving this because you signed-up with our company. Nine times out of ten, I've never even heard of their company nor did I sign up for anything. I wish it was their money being wasted and not my time. Best Wishes!

Frankly, i love the "Select All" followed by "Delete" button after i have selectively read those "important mails" and archive them to appropriate folders. You can tell it is not necessary to open some mails. Repeat after me, "Select All", "delete". There you go.

haha, no wonder i've not seen u starting new discussions for a long time, i thought u have quitted mylot for good.. lol =D Well, that will never happen to me, because i dun like to receive tons of emails. If i have backlog, i will be sure to scan through them, according to names, only opening those who are real friends of mine.. The rest can write, if not, they shall head for my bin right away.. haha

I was away from mylot for about 6 months so I had a ton of emails in my box when I finally went back into it. I use an email address just for mylot so I don't get any other emails in that one. That way I don't have to go through all of them to find emails that are from family or whatever. So I had a ton of emails, around 4000, and I wanted to clean them up so I just deleted all the comment emails from mylot and all my friends discussions emails and only kept the mylot digest emails. I also logged into my mylot account and I deleted almost all of my friends from my list so I don't get those emails anymore and I am basically working on responding to the digest discussions for now. As I am working on those I am requesting new friends. The reason I deleted most of my old friends was because most of them aren't active in mylot anymore so I thought I would just start fresh. So if you see that I am responding to some of your old discussions it is because I have mylot digest emails that go back 12 months and I am working on those as well as newer ones like this one. Good luck and happy mylotting my friend, Chris

the best thing you can do is just enjoy responding to their topic and next time those you cant reply...with that amount of unread messages you cant finish them all in 3 hours not even a day...so take one at a time..

I recently moved home from another state to live with my dad. My dad does not have Internet service here at his house, so I sort-of feel cut off from the world. I can go to my aunt’s house, or to the public library, to use my laptop to get online when I can. So, I kind-of know how you feel. However, I have come up with a way to post on MyLot even though I do not have Internet service where I live. I copy and paste the discussions I want to respond to, and the link to the discussion, into a Microsoft Word file, then save it to my laptop. I read them and type my responses in my spare time at home, and I post them to MyLot the next time I get online. It gives me something to do when I am just sitting here around the house, and I am still able to make some money at MyLot. The only bad thing is that it is sometimes a couple of weeks between times that I am able to get online. I plan to get DSL or Cable internet service here eventually, but for now, I have other debts and bills that I want to concentrate on paying for…

If I had 6 thousand unread messages. I dont think I could read them all. I believe the best way to read them, if i were given only 2-3hours is to read the titles and choose only discussions that I wanted to respond to if not then just erase them.

I am working on my notifications in my emails too. last May, I got more than 3 thousand of emails, most from mylot. Now, they are less than 150. I hope to be fully back on mylot. When I was at work, after I got home, I would do at least 3-5 posta and I do more in the weekends. I love having emails from mylot.

I dislike too many email notification from mylot because not all the topics of the discussions will suit my interest. In this circumstance, I shall screen through the discussion topics first and delete whatever uninteresting topics straight away. Due to the time constraint, I shall only respond to those discussions in mylot digest. About mylot friends' discussions, I shall select those friends whom I am familiar with. Then I shall follow up by viewing the relevant discussions' topics before I delete them. To ease my reference, I do assign a special folder for the incoming mails from mylot. ha! ha! By doing so, I can manage my mails faster and easier.

Hi syoti! You and I both! Right now, I'm doing July 14 notifications. I need to reach July 7 since that's the time I logged off from MyLot. I started catching up a few days ago. Yikes, still a looong, loong way to go!

i don't receive that too many email notification as i don't add too many members. i only want to receive notification from members that i want to receive updates from and they are just too few.

I have over 1400 emails from my friends at MyLot and I am aware of the fact that I will not ever be catching up! I respond to the newer ones and leave the rest because I cannot do the impossible. As long as I can still come here most days and contribute something I feel okay. It is very difficult to keep up to date with all the notifications when you are limited for time. Most people here understand because we are all in similar situations.

I'm the same way with my regular email. I've been really busy for the last two weeks and haven't been able to get on much. I have fifteen pages of unread messages. It's crazy! I try to sift through the ones that I know I want to respond to right away and leave the rest for when I have more time. Good luck!

Hi syoti20!. WOW that's much, I assume you had many friend who active making discussion on daily basis. I am facing this too but never reach that numbers of yours. At the beginning is about the slow connection but now because I am really busy in other think its keep piled up in my email. So I usually just turn of my notification if I know its going to be a busy week and I had no chance to go here. If I had time I can see it on home button any way. I still think the best strategy is reads from your email so you can response directly here without browsing mylot to find discussion you like and capable to answer.

My situation is similar to yours. I have limited time to use in MyLot and receive a good number of notifications of new topics, comments and responses. What I do most often is reply to the mails as soon as they arrive, that is in those hours when I'm connected check my inbox and respond to the topics in the mails from that day so they don't accumulate, or they accumulate the least possible. When I can't cope with reading all of them I left some for the next day. Problems arrise when the number of mails increase and some are becoming really old. At some point I just throw away the most older (as responding to a very old topic don't seems good to me) and left in the inbox only 2 or 3 days of messages and start again from there.

I usually get hardly any time during the weekdays. So what I do is, I just go online for an hour at home and check my mails for important stuff. Then on weekends I do everything else like myLotting as well.
