Hi Cat! From what I understand here it is required to give an interview of some sort to prove the person is real and not a fake, to prove the winnings. Yes this is dangerous and scary as many who know the people will most likely somehow seek them now for money. While not all will be dangerous the chances are that someone can commit some dangerous way of getting money is likely. I hope they come up with a plan for safety, if it were me, well a long vacation somewhere would be nice until people sort of forget that I had won. lol

They didn't have to go public, but chose to do so. They were from Ayr in Scotland, if my memory serves me well. If not, it doesn't matter, does it? lol Anyways - There was a live Who Wants To Be a Millionaire on tv last night and they were in the audience. I think they want to live the celebrity life-style and enjoy all the trappings that come with it. Oh to have the choice, eh? :)

Hi HGW Required to give an interview That just sounds terrible. I might want to be rich but never famous lol. I know with the lottery over here you get a few extra quid if ya go public with it but why would you after winning so much? But you don't have to. If it were me, I would but a small island in the tropics and hide and invite a select few over to celebrate. You and your boyfriend would be on the list

Better to show their face than their behind like I might have done! lol If you're rich enough, can you lend me a fiver? I'm a bit skint this week. Don't worry about getting it back. If I default, HWG has promised to cover it. ;)

If I won a lot of money in a lottery, or by some other means, I would not want anyone to know about it. I would keep it a secret, because I wouldn’t want people asking me for money all the time. I would rather just continue my current lifestyle with the comfort of knowing that I had that money to fall back on in I needed it. I would pay off all my debts, and I would buy myself a new truck, and maybe a new boat, but other than that, I don’t really know of anything else that I would spend money on, because I have most of the other things I need in life already. I would do some remodeling to my house, but other than that, I don’t really think I would change my lifestyle that much, except that I probably wouldn’t work nearly as much as I do now. LOL

Hi sweet love forever: I think you have a good point here. If I were on thei places I won't do this because it's dangerous and at the same time I don't want to be in the center of attentiona and make millions of people know that I am a millionare. I'd feel afraid about that. ALVARO

If I were the big winner, I wouldn't show my face in front of the tv. That is indeed way too risky. But I guess the couple have already hired a bodyguard after they have shown themselves in the tv. I will be keeping the money safely in the bank after I receive it for sure if I were them.

Wow! It takes a lot of guts to show off your fortune like that, especially if it came from a lottery. I don't think I would announce to the public that I've won a ton of money, though. It's too personal! LOL!

If I had won the Euro Millions I most certainly would not have gone public. They are going to get loads of begging letters, people coming out of the woodwork, people offering them things, scams and all other types of annoyence. I wouldn't want to tell anyone I'd won, but as you wouldn't be able to hide it completly I'd probably say that I'd won one of the lesser prizes and again I wouldn't go public. Just seems utter madnes that they have chosen to. But it they would like to make a donation to me, then I'd glady accept it!

Well, I think it's their choice. I also don't see why they did that but it's their decision and I respect that.

I would not have shown my face if I was them, not because of threaths to my life maybe, because whoever tried to rob them must realize they probably don't just keep that money at home, but also it will attract people who beg them for money and come up with all kinds of plans to get money from them. So it certainly changes your life a lot. Either way, I have to say that is an insane amount of money to win. Their lives probably changed a lot already, so maybe they didnt care. After all, they can afford very good security now!
