Sometimes topics are just bound to be stale

Many people who are at myLot for an amount of time might notice that a lot of topics do tend to come up time and time again. Not too often, but maybe once every two or three months, you might spot a certain topic that gets brought back up by a different poster. With the turnover of new members, its to be expected. The longer that you are here, the more overplayed a lot of the topics seem to be. The two most glaring examples tend to be various topics about the world ending in 2012 and people asking what they can do to earn on this website. Just grin and nod, new members are going to come in and just dive right in, without any prior context to what has been discussed on this website. I think that instead of talking about the lack of fresh topics, its time to start some of your own, if you feel old ground is being visited again. Of course, coming up with a good idea might be easier said than done on some days. And there are going to be days where we might just need a day off from posting, keep that in mind.

Yes, it is quite noticeable that a lot of topics before are being recycled. This is especially true with newbie questions. I do feel there is a need for stickied discussions so as to eliminate some duplications of topics which are frequently asked or posted by newbies. Because of this reason also why I tend not to create new discussions and just reply on different other discussions. It really hard to think of a new discussion which was not previously discussed. Yes, it is quite annoying to see the same discussion topics every now and then but still myLot don't have the process to filter those duplicating discussions. We just have to deal with them.

Good point about some useful stickied discussions. Of course, there are times where no matter how many times you point people in the right direction towards these things, there are always going to be some people. I'm pretty sure that it is rather hard to really create completely one hundred percent original discussions but there are certain questions that I'm sure anyone with half of a thought would realize that has been posted. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

I used to use my time explaining over and over about reading rules and guidelines. I decided some time ago that I would not waste my time, not even by telling the administration of a post that should be deleted. As I found myself ill, I discovered that it is absurd to spend my time in that when there are other things that I prefer. Now I answer only what I want. I´ll start soon some posts about some of the things that were important to me a long time ago. We, the old mylottters, have lived in an era with lots of changes. Youngsters take it for granted: I don´t.

In the end it is going to just be running around circles. There are going to be a new group that comes along every so often. About whenever the old new group gets properly educated and then it just upsets the entire apple cart. Some of them do take time to read the guidelines, mistakes are made as growing pains, but many do grow into good members. So do not think that I am accusing anyone of any thing. I think any of us who have been longer than a year have seen many people come, many people, go things change. For those who have been here much longer, they have seen much more. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

megamatt and too newcomers do not even heed mylot suggestions that they do read all he mylot admins information.why bother? because if you know what to do here you will mot get your discussions and even comments ofr responses deleted as you will know the rules. first hand, not garbled mess of information thats all wrong., its smart to read the information and its stupid to post if you have not the foggiest idea of how to make a post!!!!WISE NOT TO RELY SOLELY ON OTHERS OF US AS A LOT ALSO DID NOT READ THE RULES.Read all the info for yourselves. as you have read our discussions so you can do yourself a favor and read all the information for yourself.

Indeed a lot of people do not feel the need to familiarize themselves. Which is a rather a shame. They are really dooming themselves from the start in a number of ways. You just have to wonder how many productive community members that we might be losing since they did not take the steps that you need to. Then they get their discussions deleted and thus they leave in anger, but they are angry for the wrong reasons. That's not just a problem with myLot but still it is a problem. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

Yes it seems to be a trend from time to time. I do notice that after a few months the same topics do appear. I instantly recall the times prior that I myself answered to others. I often do find myself repeating but the more I enter information the more I find I am adding more to it. So it becomes yet more interesting to me because I find I am in a sense furthering the topic for myself and gathering yet more points of views from others fresh opinions too. As for starting topics I really don't do many as I get a lot of responses that carry on for weeks and because I like to comment back to all of them, I prefer to run the full course of my discussions before I start another.
