Sometimes the truth can be more absurd than any lie.

I think most of us realize the importance of telling the truth but there are times where things tend to happen us that are surreal. To the point where we are not sure what happened. A time or two in my life, there was an incident that occurred with me, that does sound like something out of a rather delusional and over the top lie. It was almost frightening. To the point where I knew what happened, but I couldn't even believe it enough myself. It just proves that there are many times where the truth be even more outlandish than a lie. Not too often but just enough to really mess with your own mind. At least in my experience.

How so much I can relate to what you are saying. I've spent my life having some very weird experiences which, when I've tried to truthfully tell people about them, I've been disbelieved simply because these people can't comprehend that so many weird things can happen to one single person.

I think that really some people have a very sheltered and closed view of what reality is. They do not want to believe us when we say these experiences did happen. And to be fair, some of them sure do seem to be rather out there. However, there are a lot of times where when telling the truth, if something does not fit someone's worldview, you can rather be pegged as a liar. It is rather insane when you think about it. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

Thanks for replying and I'm glad I'm not alone. I agree with everything you say. Most of the people who think I'm lying when I tell them certain less conventional things about myself, are those you describe....having led closed, sheltered lives.

There are things in life, true happenings that we wanted to keep because we think no one will believe us. So,when asked about it...we prefer to tell a little lie than telling the whole truth.

Yes or alternatively we take it to the grave. There are many things that have happened to me that I am kind of reluctant to share. Or at least share the complete story. There are just a lot of things that defy a lot of belief and much conventional wisdom. Therefore the absurdity is brushed underneath the rug and we all go on with our lives. Some do tell a small lie or not tell anything at all. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

Often a lie can be seen for exactly what it is. when the the truth is too strange or obscure, it itsn't always believed. it can be quite frustrating for the one who is telling this truth.

That can be extremely frustrating. There are many people who swear up and down that they are telling the truth when they are lying. But there comes a rare time when something happens that is outlandish and it is all too similar to a lie that someone has said. There are times where people start questioning a lot and it leads to one big confusing mess. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.
